@@ChrispyPwns *_Nope! It's actually better for the engine. It allows the engine to make more power and have more air flow going through it._* However it makes the car a bit louder.
@@rjaybruhh I had a 2000 Ford Mustang gt , I thought it the motor blew because I had long tube headers to straight pipe and I didn’t tune it. Was that possible?
@@rjaybruhh the car was 100% stock when I bought it, all I did was a cold air , bigger throttle body, long tube catless exhaust , and it blew the engine after a month. Did I wait too long for the tune?
Very nice and indepth video, some people just chop out their mufflers and call it a "straight pipe" without touching the cats or anything. Keep up the good work.
Straight piped 55 swapped 202 here. Absolutely nuts sounding lol, these are awesome motors. Can’t imagine the m113k straight piped in person. My NA M113 crackles a little bit, but m113k seems like it’s popcorn in videos, compared to mine lol
I'd like to find a video of the rear 2 cats and rear mufflers deleted, leaving just the front cats and resonators. The resonators look small and straight through, like Magnaflows. You could put those back in to tame down the sound, have it quiet at cruising speed but loud when you step on it.
Cool! I did this all myself, and we had extra pipe laying around to use so I didn’t have to purchase any. I used close to 8 feet of pipe in all. So I would bank on a couple hundred bucks if a shop did it and could be cheaper if you were to do it yourself.
In most cases it's usually 175-250$ depending on the shop, if you know the workmanship is good and the welds are gonna be horrible spend a little extra .
Mounting turbo wouldn’t be much work, it’s running the intake piping back into the engine bay that would be tough. Next time I have it on the hoist I’ll look more into it.
@@sandinbros4216 i agree not being to difficult mount a turbo, lots of space in the back underneath it. For the intake piping, maybe route near firewall and connect to existing air intake piping then route to inter cooler ?!? Just brainstorming
Well we’re from Alberta so we don’t have much emissions testing here. But I would imagine if you left the 4 cats at the front in (I cut out 2 of them) you wouldn’t have much problem as they are the only emissions related components in the exhaust, the rest is just for muffling noise. Hope that helps.
I'm in South Africa I have an e240 2004, please tell me, all I have to do is have the mufflers out and weld pipes together? It won't affect the car in any negative way in the long run?
Where we live we don’t have smog checks but if you left all 4 cats i would think it would pass. That was the only emission related parts in the exhaust I removed.

? I don't get why someone would straight pipe a luxury car that the manufacturer took great pains to make virtually silent. Buy a Mustang GT or something similar if you want a muscle car sound.
I like how you tested each cutoff of the mufflers and resonator. Very good!

remove mid mufflers for normal cruising sound, and add electronic valve for straight pipe sound

done the same on my old s430, only difference I some brabus mufflers sounded pretty good
Cool! I may add mufflers later on but for now I’m enjoying the exhaust note
I love it bro i need to do that to my s430
I want to do the same to mine lol I daily mine too so you live at gas stations? Because I swear I do currently
I did this to my ml430 but I cut out both of the cats, it sounds wayyyy better without both cats

I would say a succes!

Does sound good. It needs a small glasspack either side to just take the edge off for my taste. Any drone?
Ya it’s a little too snappy especially when cold but I may do some high flow mufflers later to cut it down a bit.
I have a 2004 S430. If I do full straight pipes will my check engine light come on???????
I left the front cats in which have the O2 sensors, the engine light did not come on.

You might get a check engine light if you cut before an O2 sensor. Wont cause any problems with the car
These cats are there for some reason, if you cut everything off, you may have power loss..
Yes I left the front 2 cats for that reason, no check engine lights and no lost power

Does the car drone or serious vibrations when on the motorway or something, as there’s no mufflers, just all straight pipe
No not really, if I’m doing around 130km/h and up it’s a bit more noticeable but other than that it’s surprisingly not bad
Did you have ti cut the rear bumper to fit the tips?
Yes I did have to trim it a bit
I prefer Step 1
Notice any low end torque loss?
No not at all, it still has two cats but didn’t notice much difference either way, I just like the sound of it lol
