Crazy how comfortable Scott looked and sounded playing this fast
No more or less comfortable than any punk drummer playing that speed. What do you mean? Compared to who?
@@pewerjenius I guess, Travis? Barker is a very technical drummer and hits the skins hard, but I never liked how he played Scott-era cuts. Doesn’t have the same ‘freight train barrelling forward’ sound.
You’re right that there are punk drummers that can do this (there’s a clip of Byron from Pennywise playing this song and he does a great job), but I still think Scott really was in that top league of 90s skate punk drummers. Maybe not wholly unique, but definitely up there with the greats.
@@DietMoney scott was the perfect beast for the 90s socal punk
@@DietMoney I agree - everybody thinks Travis is the goat - and yep he's super talented, but I don't see the same raw energy. Would have been interesting to see if Scott stayed with the band - not living in the past, but hey a reunion deserves the founding members. Carousel, Mutt, Damnit, Josie, Apple Shampoo, M&M's
@@DietMoney I'm glad you responded in such a well rounded way.lmao. Travis is technically a way better drummer but it's like those videos (if you've ever seen) where the drummer is going way to ham in the fills. Scott was perfect for this Era just as Travis is perfect for that Era,but Scott really does bring that freight train energy
Scott was mad talented for his age!
One of the best quality recordings I’ve seen from this era
Thank you for watching. I was lucky enough to have a feed from the soundboard, permission from the band and a really good camera.
The look on marks face like “holy shit i played it right” is priceless
Straight up! He doesn't play like that anymore. Thanks for watching.
Totally respect to Scott
Yes !!!!
This performance is flawless
The tempo is totally ou of control haha. They out of sync thought the whole song. But the energy is awesome. Raw punk.
Scott was a beast.
You can tell that even on Cheshire Cat, both Mark and Tom had talent. Especially with the bass and guitar solos on M + M's and of course Carousel. The record companies at the time knew that they could become big. And they did.
The way Tom plays is so neat and he’s such a natural player. Effortless and tight.
Scott was amazing!
Mark's solo, Scott, Tom's voice and downstrokes, it's so beautiful
This is a gift Jesus himself would have intended
I miss the old El Dorado saloon so much. I went there for about four years straight every Friday and Saturday night. I’d give anything to turn back the clock one more time and spend one more evening there.
Great club. I wish I was young again as well. If I only knew then what I know now. Respect brother.
@@whatsthestory2612 did you used to go there for the concerts or did you go there on Friday and Saturday night to pick up on the ladies?
@@jasonlowrey8317 I only went to the venue a couple of times. At the time I lived in the Bay Area so Carmichael was pretty far away. But I remember it was a good venue on the head good parking.
Woah, thank you for uploading this whole show + all the other awesome videos! I just turned 30 a few hours ago and this was a rad present.
I turned 30 a couple months ago. Loving this
I love how marks been passionate about their music since day one 🔥🔥
thank you sooooo much for uploading this concert!!
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching.
Damn if only scoot raynor stays on till today…..
fucking perfect bass solo
They’re all going different tempos
It's punk I be concerned if they were in time 😂😂
Thank you!
This was amazing! I really miss these guys.
Thanks for uploading these!
Perfect Tom
Holy shit thank you so much this is awesome. The quality is so fucking good
Wow this is a fantastic performance of carousel Tom’s old voice lol definitely better than his new voice but I love Tom DeLonge full stop
I agree. Am a big Tom fan and nothing compares to his old voice, but it was bound to happen. He’s getting older, and so are we :(
@@TheBigHaus haha I never said I didn’t like his voice now I’d rather have him with blink-182 than Matt skiba and I don’t dislike Matt skiba but his voice doesn’t suit blink-182
Awesome!
Scott’s taptaptaptaptap drumming was like this throughout the whole album. Way too much for me to enjoy it.
Travis really did get them to another level.
the tap tap tap drumming suited the riffs that tom made
Wtf is taptaptap drumming
nar, scott >>>> travis
It wasn’t all “Taptaptap” drumming on Cheshire Cat, but Ok.
Travis didn’t do any more than Scott did for all his time with the band. Thank Jerry Finn for taking them up a notch.
@@simplebutnotsolongname6642 Nah that's not true, Travis had a lot of unique drum beats and would give the boys beats to build songs around instead of the other way around
Damn thats on Fire!
Tom down strums that fast shit!? Damn
The real drummer!
The shitty sloppy drummer
Man so crazy I really miss the old blink. Travis barker is the fucking master at the drums, but I do still miss Cheshire cat stuff. However once travis barker did get on board they were unstoppable until they went main stream and tom left and they got that other dude who is not blink sorry I know I'll be hated on but shit bring it I've been a fan since 93 when demo 2 came out.
You wont be hated on. Matt Skiba was a horrible fit for blink and everyone knows it. Tom is someone that no one can ever replace
if you really are a fan since 93 you would know scott>>>>travis
Saw them just a few weeks later in morro bay at flippos
Could you edit these all together into one video? Tom saying "Take it away, Hop-ass" is one of the funniest ways they've ever began a song and I wish it was in this video instead of the one before it.
Look at those damn downstrokes. Tom is so HOT!!!!!!!!
In david letterman show, scott wear long sleeve flanel. Wow.
nice
They're actually getting along lol
Dude ranch , chesire cat ... Era 🤨🤘 ( I like it )
This show is awesome, I don't know if it's because they are young, Tom' voice, mesa boogie + fender, Scott, maybe their live sound was similar to studio because they were not so overproduced or maybe they used to rehearsal.
The show was amazing! I had a really great camera and a feed from the soundboard. The band were weird but very nice to meet. Believe it or not they were opening. They put that much effort into an opening slot set. Less Than Jake was the headliner.
Tom either hammered or got something in his mouth lmao
Scott is blink! No travis!
Scott is blink
Travis is blink 182
@@therealcaydonrascoe todo pndjo! Blink 182 nace con scott 🖕🖕
Scott esta en una, toca cualquiera jajdjsjs
Pre Hurley era
This is the Billabong era
1997 wtf how old are they
Blink-182 are all in their fifties man
@@whatsthestory2612 I feel like teens in their time had the best music
mark 25
tom 22
scott 19
Tom & Travis are 46
Mark is 50
blink was formed in 1992
holy shit drummer can’t drum
That's why they got rid of him
why is it
@@heriijunee he’s so focused on trying to play fast he doesn’t understand there’s other dynamics trying to play consistently in time with him
@@BuzzKillJacob lmao no they fired him cause had issues with drinking alcohol
@@Michal71175 which was affecting his performance onstage, in an interview Mark was saying how he would drink and drop his sticks mid songs
Before all the lame backing tracks
