Romantic, nostalgic, pictorial. One of the all time great film scores. Very much of place and time. Those who dish the 50's Hollywood output. Take a LOOK at this. Great cast, screenplay, direction, and Dimitri Tiomkin make it work!
The sad thing about this great score is that it was so poorly recorded. The stereo stems were junked before Capitol Records agreed to license the soundtrack recording, resulting in a monaural album devoid of audiophile quality. Later, Capitol re-released a Duophonic edition, which was worse than the original. Tiomkin deserved better.
Without Any Doubt…Giant was 100% a Bloated Pile of Junk..Over Produced, Over Directed, Over Acted By All! Horrible Make Up When they all get older..Bloated Screenplay! The only good was Dimitri Tiomkin great score that arises of all George Stevens Junk on the screen. Giant was nominated for 10 Oscars..It won one..and didn’t deserve the win..Best Director George Stevens!
