You are doing a great job on this challenge. I would have given up days ago. I commend you on your creativity each day and bringing new ideas or ideas that haven't been done in a while. I really do love this weathered leather look envelope; it does look really soft. Thanks so much for sharing and take care of yourself.
Hi Mich 👋 I have literally binged the last 2 weeks of Junk Journal July, so please don't lose your mojo cos I'm eagerly waiting the rest of this series. I've learned so much & been inspired by you & your projects - for which I'm so grateful, thank you!
Hey Mich….. you go girl! Another fantastic page to your journal! Each day is such a treat from you THANKYOU for sharing your beautiful talent of such creativity,,, bless you🦋
This faux leather idea is so cool, I am off to get my brown packing paper out my stash. Thanks Mich, once again for the ideas and your time Stay safe in these times of severe weather changes... best wishes to you both xxx loving how this is all turning out. WOW is how I describe it. Xx
Aww thanks so much. Love your comment. Yes Chester and I are sitting here in front of the fan. It’s evening and thankfully it’s starting to cool off a bit 🐈🌺🌸
Another great project… thanks for sharing Mich. This is one of my favorite techniques and your pocket is a fantastic addition to your journal. I was thinking it’s only July 14 and you are going to need a bigger spine😂… the faux leather will make the perfect finish to your JJ July. Yes we had a tremendous amount of rain in the past two weeks and enormous structural road damage. Sadly there was a fatality in Wolfville. So our prayers are with the family and the friends of the victim.
Wow Mich, what an interesting technique, love the way it turned out. Not liking this humidity, don’t mind it hot but without it being humid. My thoughts are with the family in Wolfville for their loss ❤️🌺
Hello from Southern Ontario! I'm late to the challenge but enjoying watching your videos as I add my own little twist to it. I'm going to try your method of faux leather thanks for that.
Mich, you can do it!! 👏👏 That faux leather paper looks fun! I couldn't help notice for your weathered prompt you used a "Wuthered" page!!😂 I'll see myself out......
Oh wow!!!! I just love that faux leather you made!! Great take on the prompt! I bet the journal you make with it will be awesome!! I made some faux leather policy envelopes similar to that for Junk Journal July 12 packaging. I just love this!! The way the inks went into the crinkles is beautiful. This turned out amazing!!
Thanks Artsy. It’s such a cool technique. As it’s hard to imagine it started as a brown paper bag. It would have been good for the packaging prompt too. I bet your journal is looking lovely. 🌸🌺
It's interesting that I just a few days ago made some faux leather to use on some faux passport booklets thingies I'm making to put into journals I am making for my grandsons (teenage). I love your pouch! Hang in there with this JJJuly, you're doing fantastic!
Thanks Lin. What a wonderful thing you are doing making journals for your grandsons. I wish I had been given a homemade journal when I was a teenager. 🌸🌺
@@michcrafty8664 They have always shown interest in my work and just recently asked me to make them each a journal. I was surprised by that. I'm doing a twig bound nature theme for my oldest and medieval theme for the younger. They are 19 and 17 years old.
Mich hope you can solve a problem I’m having. I did my first MM collage in a Charlottes Web book. I didn’t use all of the pages but it is really fat and gapping open. So next Mm Journal I used a spiral bound multi media journal, I did use all the pages plus have the last 4 days just stuck in the back. Same problem. It is very, very fat gapping open. What can I do to not be so gappy? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks 😊
With a book like I’m using, I take pages out at random from all the signatures- front to back. That way the bulk is evenly distributed. The book I used last year was a moleskein and I ended up splitting the spine and added another spine. But for a spiral bound it’s a bit harder. You could try and take out the spiral wire and replace it with a larger spiral or large rings through the existing holes.

Thanks Nina. I hope you like how your’s turns out. ❤️
Thanks for the faux leather steps. I've never done that, so something else to try. Beautiful pouch. 😊
Thanks Joy. I really love the feel of it ❤️

Thanks Wanda. My spine just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Lol. Yes it was a sad thing. Our weather really has changed in the last couple years.
