Gehrman, The First Hunter - EPIC VERSION [Bloodborne]

- This is an orchestral version of Gehrman's Theme from Bloodborne (The First Hunter), where I added elements of opera and live-orchestra-esque arranging to give it some added freshness in a new light :) (I also got my choir to sing the same lyrics as the original version!)
This theme is one of the most iconic slow pieces from a Souls game in which everything is turned upside down and into an iconic battle about trying to free the other person from eternal suffering, all while on a huge field of flowers.
For those of you who don't know Bloodborne, this is the song I referenced at the end of my Lay All Your Love on Me video :)
I tried my best to make this a balanced listening experience that isn't 'EPIC' all the way through, just for the sake of replayability and realism :)
The DS3 (Soul of Cinder) and DS1 (Gwyn, Lord of Cinder) PLIN PLIN PLON reference towards the end was added as they kind of share a similar 'sad' type of fight to that of Bloodborne, so I thought, let's do it :)!
The majority of my time spent on this was on making the choir and strings sound as best as they can; if you liked them, let me know as going forward this is how my template will sound like! :D

Wow and the story continues. The inherited spirit of the old hero guided the protagonists to a hidden place they must know, where a forgotten legendary battle took place. His most desperate challenge and one of the gruesome things that made him become what he was when they met him. In this place the protagonists see the memories impregnated in the energy left there. I imagine the part of the chorus and its transition to DS 3 to be the most epic and tragic part of that memory. And the protagonists need to see it because that's the evil they will have to face, and perhaps finally put a definitive end to, where the old heroes couldn't. I imagine that memory shows a victory that came with an ultimate price, since then the old heroes remaining tried to find a way to put an end to this evil, while keeping it at bay. Time passed and only one remained, the one the protagonists met in their journey and mistook him as an antagonist at first, before knowing the truth. That old hero who once thought that was a blessing now felt cursed for being a hero, if he stopped fighting, no one was left to stop the evil, so he couldn't, and nonstop fighting over time took toll on his mind, while his nostalgia reminded him of what he was fighting for, and some of what he already lost. And this is where the new protagonists now know the truth and will have to decide how to move forward

Love it so far, seriously the additional choir moments are amazing, keep up the great work! I've always loved Gehrman's theme, tragic but at the same time bombastic, reminds me a lot of the 2nd phase of the Abyss Watchers theme

Overall, it's an absolutely fantastic cover, you captured the energy and message it tried to convey without going over the top
I did notice that the very beginning of the strings at 0:20 is a bit rushed, though it might be a result of the effects given to the instrument
the multi-layered buildup at 1:20 is absolutely genial. I love how it's followed with choir
at 2:50, the chords collide a bit, breaking the melody, making the listener unable to focus on any of its components (perhaps try balancing)
Also the idea to merge with soul of cinder is great, I just feel that the transition itself was a bit sudden. In your cover of "Lay all your love on me", it felt more natural. Not exactly sure if that same idea can apply though...

The rushed string part is a technique called portamento where the player slides from one note to another (maybe I should have got them to slide up slower), I also totally get the chords colliding but personally found it sitting right at that level, any higher and the counter melodies would've been drowned out (it's really just a personal preference of mine, but I can totally see why it'd be better if balanced differently! :)
Honestly transitions are so hard to write, I guess I just need to really work on making them more smooth, I appreciate the honest input!!🌹🌕
