      No need to be rude. With this language, you're just indicating that us Europeans are rude people. You could have just said that you like crepes better than pancakes. :)

    Great videos! Started making these 20 years ago when the only restaurant in town that served cheese blintzes went out of business. I cook mine first, seam down, then cool and into the frying pan. They also go well with strawberries and sour cream. I always learn something from your videos and really appreciate you sharing your knowledge.

      I hate low fat anything, not just due to the flavor and quality but because they're usually more unhealthy. The food companies know low fat foods kind of suck so they add different, often artificial, things to thicken them to make them creamier and they dump a ton of sugar to make them taste better. My dad is on a diet and bought some low fat yogurt and it did have a few less grams of fat but it had an extra 15 grams of sugar, bringing its sugar content pretty close to an equal amount of Coke.

    Awesome recipe! I will say though, I did not realize just how small these were? I made a batch for a family brunch tomorrow and came out with exactly 14 after increasing the crepe batter recipe by 33%. Speaking of, the crepe batter recipe is great! These are strong and flexible while still being tender and were super easy to cook!

    I'm watching for the first time now, and I'm just imagining all the savory applications of this. Because butter flavor, of course. And cheese. Instead of sugar, maybe add a little spinach, like a savory cheese pierogi. So good.

      @paulwagner688 5 років тому +1

      Oh hell yeah. And I can see a savory cheese application as well. Like a manicotti filling type thing.

    I am Polish and these babies are my favorite. traditionally you make these using farmer's cheese, plus you add YOLK only to cheese batter.

    So is it basically a wrapped cheesecake that been lightly fried?!

      Diamond Borealis No, cheesecake has flour inside of the cheese mixture for structure and granulated sugar not powdered sugar.

      LilDrezzy101 made plenty of cheesecake and only once I used flour. It ruined the cake.

      No. Cheesecake uses only cream cheese. Blintzes uses mainly ricotta cheese (sometimes some cream cheese mixed in, as in the recipe shown here) and aren’t nearly as sweet as cheesecake. The sweetness mostly comes from the berry topping. You can also top it with sour cream.

    yum....yours look perfect! we made blintzes hundreds of times in my family growing up. We had them every year for the Jewish holiday of Shavuot where it's traditional to eat dairy foods. We never baked them, but served them with either whipped cream, white sugar or strawberries. Some people even put raisins inside, not to my taste though. We also only ever used fresh cottage cheese that comes in a wrapper, mixed that with eggs, cinnamon and sugar, divine!

    Heavy fatty cream wrapped in heavy fatty cream [with a lil' flour], then fried in heavy fatty cream. It could do with some cream on the side, I think.
