Very true! Artistes from non-Bollywood industries have to have double / triple the amount of work to get half the recognition. Even Sridevi, got the Padma Shri at the recommendation of the Tamil Nadu Government for her huge body of work in the South but all the newspapers credited her Hindi movies. Jaya sudha and Jayaprada, among others also have a formidable body of work in the South. Other industries also have such artistes who are deprived of national recognition.
They're great actresses, and they deserve awards, but what kangana did no female actress ever have done in history. She stands up for herself and the people who are suffering in the industry. She never acted diplomatic like other actors. She raised her voice courageously. Nepotism and sexism have been there in every industry since ages, but no actress has guts to question that, but kangana shaken the bollywood. She has talent, wisdom, and bravery. That's the reason she got the award. She is very well deserved for the award. In fact, any award for that matter.

That's a big point of discussion, these politicians mostly prefer politicians and their preferred candidate. Ex. Rabindranath Tagore didn't receive Bharat Ratna yet ( he won Noble in literature) there are many more in the list who deserve these national awards.

Government of India calls openly for nominations/applications for padma awards. Those applications will be evaluated based on some criteria by some expert team to select the awardees. They will not pick random people from street. If anyone wants award - apply or get nominated, and follow the process. For eg. Balu garu got award because TN government nominated him. Also, it’s unfair to play down Kangana, a national award winning actress. It’s pure jealousy.

Only after bahubali and downfall of bollywood south technicians, actors are being recognised and even actors like srk, ranbir are doing movies with south directors.
So far Kangana has done 30+ movies and got 4 National awards. Her movies Tanu weds Manu Returns, Manikarnika and Queen have got collected 150+ crores and proved that a female centric movies can beat male dominated movies. She even directed the movie Manikarnika and probably youngest women to take a whole movie on her shoulders it made it iconic. Her all movies are examples of women empowerment and she never did any item songs. The level of talent Kangana showed in 10 movies Jayasudha and Jayapradha did not show in 100 movies. They have only acted in male dominated movies. Kangana deserved all awards she got and these women are jealous of her achievements. I know people hate her because of her political ideology and being close to BJP, but one should know that she was given two national awards by Congress government. Same Jayasudha was a Congress MLA and Jayaprada was Samajwadi MP whose party was part of UPA govt. but still these women didn’t get any awards.
How did you find out that they were jealous. A question was put out to them, and Jayasudha did not contradict Kangana's acting and answered it.
But just to be sure Jayasudha garu actually stood out even in male dominated movies, and looks like you have no clue that she acted in female oriented movies, check her filmography.
It is politics which play a role in recommending like BJP backing of Kangana for the award (and she was current actress). Jayasudha garu might have been an MLA, but she wasn't trending currently. Again I would blame the politicians for not recommending them for awards.

Jayasudha being part of Congress party when Congress was in power in both state and center couldn’t get an award but the same congress party gave Kangana 2 National awards. Earlier Priyanka Chopra was also given Padmashree when she was youngest but Jayasudha failed to take her name out. Its clear that she is referring Kangana’s name because of political ideology. So Jayasudha and Jayapradha can be part of political parties but Kangana should not be close to BJP. I’m from Telangana and I grew up watching Jayasudha movies, she had not done any female oriented movies which created strong impact on women empowerment whereas Kangana worked in movies like Manikarnika, Panga, Queen, Thalaivii, Tanu weds Manu returns which showed how her talent. Her performance in one scene is greater than Jayasudha’s whole career. One point to be noted, their contemporary Sridevi got Padmashree whereas Jayasudha and Jayapradha didn’t get. It means not everyone will be given awards those who stands out with their performances and create impact will only get. You can blame politicians for awards, but you can never disagree that Kangana Ranaut is the greatest actor in the country.
Enough of nonsense. She is an absolutely brilliant & talented artist, no doubt about it. But does she deserve to be there too quick? We here in south india have talent that's not given their due, the great musical Maestro Ilaiyaraaja deserves Padmavibhushan & many national honours, the celestial singer K. J. Yesudas deserves nothing less than Bhaarath Ratna, SPB, P. Susheela, Janaki, Chitra from musical field, the legendary actor NTR, ANR, Krishna, Chiranjeevi from Telugu, MGR, Sivaji Ganesan, Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth from Tamil, Mammotty, Mohanlal, Dr. Rajkumar from Malayalam & Kannada, don't they deserve much more national recognition? Don't they atleast deserve a first civilian honour in country? What's less in their talent? When Ajay Devgan there gets highest national awards, what about Chiranjeevi & Rajinikanth, can we even compare the skills of Ajay Devgan to these legendary artists?? Never, never & never. Here, in India this has been a routine thing to humiliate south artists, they still deserve their due & this humiliation cannot be tolerated, atleast after the world wide success from RRR- this can't go along! India isnot just Bollywood, it's all cinema industry together! No wonder you get to see our south artists raising their voices for the injustice done to them.
No matter what, we have gems equivalent to Bharath Ratna - rightly S. Janaki amma refused the Padma Bhushan, saying it was a humiliation for her, coming after ages like this! These people deserved such slipper shots

Impact created by Kangana through her few movies is way more than that of what JayaSudha and JayaPradha together have been able to. Just don't go by numbers, look at the quality of work done too!. Sorry to say, but most movies done by these two ladies have less of their ownselves being portrayed in it.
