Oh, he was in the middle of the field. No wonder he only ever shot his opponents in the ass! It was to make sure they were looking the other way when he fired, so as to not give away his position!
this story reminds me of the airsoft war i had with my 5 buddies and i used the sniper rifle in the woods while the guys were all in the field, i just took potshots at them until the last one shit himself not knowing where i was, i didn't even have camo on, just a white tank top and blue jeans with running shoes,
Xeno airsoft. I know those pellets can sting like a mother flipper even through BDUs and I don't even want to consider taking a shot where the xeno did...yikes.
@@GeorgeOrwell-yz6zx someone deliberately shoots another player in the mommy-daddy button, there's gonna be a fistfight outside the game area...and if it's an accident, the shooter better not have done it before, else no one will believe it was.
Yup, seen one guy get almost point-blank in the twins. The only thing he said before we carried him off the field was, "Leave me alone. I want to die."
I got the ghillie suit dealt with the optics, but what stopped their olfactory detection? The last combatant circled the sniper. At some point they would have had to be down wind.
@@spaceengineeringempire4086 None of which was mentioned in the story at all. And they did not smell the human at all. They didn't say they were overwhelmed by other smells or that the smell was everywhere. So that explanation doesn't fit at all.
@@sin-text857 That makes more sense. But even that would only work for a short time after use as the body would be giving off a scent very soon anyways. The best counters for olfactory sensing is position, being up wind and therefore your scent will never reach their sensors until that condition changes. And masking with natural scents of the area, preferably strong scents. If you don't rely on scent sensing, like most humans, this works great as the strong scents will exist in the area naturally and over power your scent. Using animal urine or dung from animals in that area, or some strong tree sap or smelling plant works pretty good making you hard to distinguish from the natural surroundings. And there is always the high tech route like the Battletech or Marine F.I.S.T. settings. Both of which have enclosed combat suits that block IR/ Thermal and have a Cameleon camoflage capability. The fact they are full body suits that can filter also means that your scent won't go out too well (or not at all with the Battletech one as it is CBR also).

You can also use scent masking soap.
And people have made one for urban environment Ghillie suit made out of city garbage, cardboard box, trash bags and stuff.

When the narrator said boo did anybody else think of the scene from Halo 2 when the Master Chief did it. Lol
human says boo, xeno runs in panic
I saw a guy do an urban version of this, using thash bags!
Was he silo entertainment?
Was going to tell him the same thing. Also you know some real steel shooters saw it and said not a bad idea for urban combat.

If they walked around enough making fake trails smell won’t work right. Or even placing mint around.
