That rickenbacker pickup sounds REALLY good.
I have this same bass just to have fun with, not gig. I have tried all sorts of pickups that fit the original pick guard hole but nothing makes me really happy. Your modification sounds KILLER to me. I am very impressed with the upgrades you made. Well done!
Nice. I pulled the frets out of mine and threw a 4 saddle bridge on it. Still experimenting with pickups. Latest was a covered mini humbucker. Not enough balls though, gonna try an active EMG 91 next.
My man just freehanding most of that cutting and drilling. Brave, but impressive work.
you are right it is poss to change the bridge and the tuners ;-)

I have this same exact bass, I got for $30!!! I work at a Pawn Shop once a week as a computer repair technician and get some pretty good deals. I love the way this thing sounds. I really want to put a Music Man Humber in mine or two Jazz Bass Pick Ups. Does anybody think that would work or sound good? Any other mods I would have to make in order to do this? I just want a big more "ping". Great Video Man!!!!!

Correction: The tuners that come with it are fine, and lightweight which keeps the neck from diving. The vast majority of people who buy and Bronco bass thinking they'll "upgrade" the tuners, don't.
but hipshot is better, east to tune and keep in tune, stock easy to out of tune

The tuners are even worse than the bridge that can't be properly intonated. The tuners are awful and don't hold tune at all. It's the only bass I've ever had that I had to re-tune after every 2 or 3 songs I play.
The one I tested had major slippage issues. I'd absolutely replace the tuners, regardless of weight
I upgraded mine with hip shot lightweight tuners and they were sooooo much better

What tuners did you use? I see that you didn't drill larger holes so they must have fit the existing ones. Really like to know where to get those exact tuners. Great video and a great bass

Yes its single coil but more like p90 pickups😀
