We weren't allowed to directly film the screen, there might be the odd clip of us playing but not a whole playthrough I'm afraid. But we might have a few more surprises to come.
to take away? No way lol they aren't going to give anyone outside of CA open access to it without it being under CA's watchful eye - its their biggest game to date they are very protective of it as they rightly should be. I got to play the prologue campaign with 100 other press / journalists etc at an Event in Rome. CA takes the hard drives all back with them.
haha I'm just having a bad part lol and a silly choice to attack, owning on my third age LP's and wasnt doing too bad in my Briton Rome LP a while back :P I'll get a lot better with Rome II!
You know you should place your crossbows/archers infront of your spearmen, then retreat to behind your lines or the flanks when the enemy comes close. So they get a straight line of fire, wich is alot more dammaging then firering up in the air and waiting for the arrows to fall, i see u do this all the time! thumbs up so he sees it
I think the developers have been successfull in improving the AI all over the years, it should be better overall. Mods will always happen, I just want them to help the modders a bit by making it easier. Can't wait for Rome 2:D
I watched everything. Will we get to see your or prince's gameplay of the prologue? The stuff you released was awesome. But we still want more, sorry about that :)
I reckon you could have beaten their cav in a siege situation but in an open field battle...good on you for taking the risk though as it was interesting to watch :) might want to wait to get more spearmen serjeants for taking on Sicily in the field, their roster, especially the Sicilio-Norman Knights, is pretty strong, at a push densely packed urban spears might just hold but that's a big gamble lol
I think lionheart thought that Stainless Steel was more Rock Paper Scissors centered. Yeah, spears get a bonus when fighting cav, but it's not like shogun 2 where fresh ashigaru can annihilate great guards.
That was a quite hard battle, So Lionheart, Dont be ashamed, The only wrong thing with that invasion force was: 1.It lacks cavalry. 2. Your Spearmen didnt have good armor. 3. Your general was not good enough to command such great battles. Otherwise i think you would have had a chance to crush them, and it would be alot easier to slay them if they wouldnt have all that cavalry, and that deadly charges. And i would recommend you to first give your weak general some experience by slaying some small rebel forces That may be around in territories that you havent explored yet and maybe start with the one close to Lyon?
It will be better, of that I'm sure. Still, do consider that making the AI smart and difficult is an enourmous task. Whatever strategy/tactics you give him, human players will learn to adapt to it, so either give him lots of them or give it bonus stuff. Mods adding difficulty will always be a necessity for those who want an extra challenge, no matter the difficulty.
'Steal a French General to repopulate the Genoan family'.... are you saying the French are known for frequency at that sort of activity :). Awesome episode again...still trying to catch up with the series.
I noticed you have a lot of militia in your armies. While they are cheaper and have a little more defense than regular spearmen, they have a lower base morale and suffer a morale penalty when fighting in the field. Now I'm not saying regular spearmen could have necessarily held their ground in that battle but they might have taken longer to rout.
Hard battle. I keep wondering if you should have sent some crossbow in melee and the general on the right flank, with maybe 2 units of crossbows for some flanking hits. Still, tough call
I think that total war games like medieval, rome and shogun are not your thing anymore since you either lose battles or have costly victories unless you really outnumber the enemy. However, you still do pretty good in napoleon and empire total war.
Lionheart, as cool as novagrad sounds (actually means city of the sun I think) it's called Novgorod, just wanted to point that out to improve your content :)
its not him, any TW player will tell you, you just have bad battles and fights and lose some, it happenes, it just dose. sometimes the random number gods hate you
You can still win campaigns if your not good at battles anyhow but really he just made an error overall Lionheart is very good at the battles cant win every time.
it's also in kinda of alpha status, so it's not that interesting even if you do follow the show. I'm glad lionheart isn't going for it as of yet. I very much prefer to watch Stainless Steel and third age, much better

the Prologue footage is from an early beta so AI will / was weaker then the final release :)
That quote after the battle with Scicily was so appropriate.
Bad or good performance, i like watching you go through all sorts of shit! Great LP's. Can't wait till Rome 2
Your videos are the best!
it may have just been the scenario he got rather than the full game, I did try to grab one of their SSD's but they wouldn't let me :P

just the main objective most likely.
thanks man
I agree, fingers crossed:D

you can have more than just one, 2,3,4,5 however many your parents want to give tbh.
I use a modded launcher which doesnt have that annoying bugged sound clip lol.
Out of many victories, there will be one defeat.
U need a thicker line cav crush through if its too thin

Did you watch my videos from yesterday?
Awesome vid :)

Nah I prefer to deal with my fate bad or good ill rise to beat it :)

You also have to take into account that Sicily has Norman knights which I've found are very though to fight against.

I never new that.

Spear men are only good in staying power against cav but cav owns everything in a charge apart from a pike wall

What's wrong with that?
You cant send peasant grade cossbowmen up against Norman Knights, it will never go well.
Favourite faction, other than Iceni, for Rome 2?
I've been thinking does urban spear milita beat standard spear men
That poor french general, 14 and already bald
Another nice episode.
P.S.
If you like Westeros universum don`t play Westeros TW, instead of this one try King of Rivers and Hills. It`s much better.
was anyone else screaming at their screens during that battle against sicily
I dont know the addon but just wondering if you would be better with longbows?
Factions
I may be wrong but I thought the word is plethora?
How do you have more than 1 middle name?
I think that total war games like medieval, rome and shogun are not your thing anymore since you either lose battles or have costly victories unless you really outnumber the enemy. However, you still do pretty good in napoleon and empire total war.
Do you close the launcher when playing Medieval 2?
If you think cavalry charges are powerful in stainless steel you should see cavalry charges in the broken crescent mod lol
Are you going for world domination or just completing the main objective?
shhhhh :P
I hate the fact that so many people I'm subscribed too are doing Game of Thrones stuff. If you don't watch it, it's not interesting.
does this mod need MTW kingdoms pack btw?
Lionheart, as cool as novagrad sounds (actually means city of the sun I think) it's called Novgorod, just wanted to point that out to improve your content :)
I'm Polish and I'm oh so offended. :D
You should have saved
its not him, any TW player will tell you, you just have bad battles and fights and lose some, it happenes, it just dose. sometimes the random number gods hate you
Its true there are Brazilian people with like 15 middle names lol.
6 videos really!?
The Italian cations are not good at all
18:45
well obviously but he could have won hands down. he had 30 minutes to strategies
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwh yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
