Support The Jump Hounds' New LP Pressing!
We are The Jump Hounds, a New Orleans-based rhythm and blues band dedicated to preserving the vibrant sounds of jump blues, early rhythm and blues and rock and roll. For this LP we’ve focused on capturing the essence of this energetic music while attempting to maintaining a sense of stylistic authenticity. Now, we need your help to bring our work to life on vinyl!
Why We Need Your Support
To honor the rich history of this music, we recorded our LP using the same techniques and equipment from the mid-40s and Early 50s. From analog recording to the meticulous lathing process, every detail was handled with care to ensure an authentic sound. This has been an expensive and arduous process. With the cost of everything going up, we need your help to make this a reality. We need to raise at least $5,000 to fund the pressing of our new LP on high-quality 180g vinyl.
What is Jump Blues?
Jump blues is a lively and upbeat style of blues that emerged in the 1940s, bridging the gap between swing and rock and roll. It's characterized by its swing rhythms, dynamic horn sections, and infectious energy that gets people moving.
New Orleans Flair and Musical Tribute
While we pay homage to the sounds of the original jump blues artists, we also strive to infuse those sounds with that of the city's rich musical landscape with our original compositions and arrangements.
