Abathur was one of HotS best selling points. Blizzard NEEDED to have more heroes actually emulate the game they were from, instead of making them just fit HotS. Instead of being the 'simple' MOBA, it could've been the unique one, moreso than it is. Missed opportunities on a lot the Diablo and Warcraft heroes.
The problem is that while there are cool unique heroes, like Cho'Gall or Abathur, it feels like they're not going all the way in making them as unique or interesting as they could. Just compare TLV vs Meepo. On top of that, they kept nerfing split pushing, tower ammo, etc to funnel the game into 5v5 skillshot teamfights constantly. And on top of that, I feel Dota nails the "feel" of even simple brawler heroes way better. Just compare how good it feels to roar and stomp around as primal beast, compared to something like Dehaka.
@@eqsaz That's funny, I feel the same way about League of Legends but the other way around. Every hero in LoL feels like homogenous mush, while HotS does a good job nailing what the character should feel like. Compare Jinx to Tychus -- both have a minigun, but Jinx fires in weird bullet spurts that are just normal AAs reskinned, while Tychus actually fires bullets as separate AAs at a minigun's speed. Unfortunately, quality doesn't make you popular. Timing and marketing does, both of which HotS failed at.
Lol what? HOTS is the most unique moba by far with heroes like Cho Gall, Medivh, Murky, The Lost Vikings, Abathur and MANY MORE. There are unique talents that change how the abilities work, there are different maps with different objectives. Tell me what MOBA is more unique than that?
Honestly I would agree with you if Overwatch didn’t exist. Heroes that can both fire and move at the same time are an absolute pain to deal with, and for Blizzard they’ve been an absolute pain to balance properly.
A friend I play league with who is also a dota player finally decided to join me for some hots. They had several complaints about the game, which was to be expected, but agreed that the weirder characters like aba, cho'gall, murky, vikings etc. were reason enough to play hots even if you like the core gameplay of the other mobas better.
Abathur and TLV are two (four?) of my favorite Heroes in HotS. Putting Greymane and Abathur on the same team is just absolutely disgusting damage; also never ceases to amaze me how powerful TLV team fighting capability is mid to late game (and how much people underestimate it!). On paper this team looks terrible, but your team peaked excellent compliments to both Abathur and TLV and played accordingly by not picking fights they didn't need to take. Great video.

Mine speced Abathur is my favorite. I still revisit hots from time to time just to play him in quickplay. Love setting up traps everywhere, blocking escape routes or putting them behind the team to punish ppl chasing them. It's just so fun and satisfying. My second most played is brightwing so I guess I also like being able to clutch save people from anywhere.

Servers are still up and apparently there’s 5k+ playing, but they cancelled all development on it 2 years ago. So it’s just in stasis- you can play but it won’t be updated anymore. Queue times are pretty short and shorter than league at times, but ranked is a lengthy queue time. Quick match is anywhere between 30-150 seconds and ARAM is 5-15, last time I tried to queue in ranked was a few days ago with a team of 5 with a 300+ second queue timer so not sure how it is solo.
Probably cause he broke the game and more so after he got changes. All the things he can do from safety and there is no other character like him. I mean, HOTS is so amazing there no reason why it would fail in esports and then stop getting life support, right?. Totally the fault of the other games and there is NO WAY that should be taken as it is lesser than other games, but instead they're just... just at fault.
I hate Abathur. I hate Abathur in the enemy team. I hate Abathur in MY team. I hate PLAYING Abathur. I hate everything about that hero. Thanks for reading my haiku.

Bro have you even saw ChoGath, Murky, Varian, Medivh,, Deathwing, TLV ( play in the game) Rexxar and that only count werid character. You can even build some character to be weird. Ex Raynor it you tradition range carry but can be build to focus on destroy building with ablity to cast a R every time he die. Samuro it very basic melee assassin crit damage but can be build to be illusion master that allow him can mind game everybody. Synvanna can just send enemy minion back to them and many more.

Abathur was the reason I started Heroes. I loved his character in StarCraft 2

Try Chogall with Abby's hat too. Pretty annoying combo for enemy team .
TLV is like murky if no early game bullying them you will totally lose the match in mid to late game.

@@Radbiker33357 rankeds in european servers have similar queue times as quick matches. the only dead mode is non ranked draft.
