@@andreihiris6670 If the roof is closed the conditons are much different. With opened roof there's little wind & the ball bounces differently. And the court is slower too which suits Iga.
when roof is closed the court is faster without wind and more predictable and this is why Osaka was so dominated with her bomb shoots as Rybakina and Sabalenka… but with open roof is Swiatek’s kingdom. And this week will be better weather❤

If you saw any of the match the other girl just gave it on a platter. Errors everywhere.

This match shows how Iga Swiatek has developed during last years... 😮 In junior tennis, she played against Potapova 7 times and... 7 times she lost. Here - Potapova was outclassed brutally. Like training with an amateur.
I dont remember match like this (39 min; only 10 points from Potapova). And this is in the second week of the grand slam... The match will be remembered in the statistics of fastest, most spectacular victories in 2nd week grand slams.
Look up Steffi Graf Vs Natasha Zvereva 1988 French Open Final. Steffi defeated Zvereva 6:0 6:0 in just 32 minutes. Insane.

I don't know, but I remember from the communist era that some fight school trainers said that you need to release energy from yourself, accompanied by shouting. I think they may have coaches from this tradition and try to add energy during the game.

I remember that Potapova and Danilovic who could have been her next opponent were the ones from 2001 who showed faster in wta than Iga. That shows how hard transition from junior to senior tennis really is.

Just before Iga hit the womens tour, she won Wimbledon juniors, the williams sisters were not allowed to compete in juniors by their father, most o your top 50 played there though. Not irreleveant at all. Obviously Iga kept working a little harder than the rest, potapova is in the top 40 and Danilovic just sent Collins home, before packing up herself. Iga never won against Potapova in the juniors, 7 losses out of 7 attempts, she has headspace of Swaitek's.

Iga is not my favorite player, but I have to say she looks like Novak's WTA equivalent to me.. Great blend of offence and defence.. Great groundstrokes, great serve, great return, great court coverage, great mental tougness.. Hard to find a weakness in her game..
