My wife and I have just gone through an exercise of credit card fraud when we were fleeced of our hard earnt money. Cash is never fraudulent and is the safe haven once you have been credit raped.
Sorry you went through that. My Dad had his whole retirement fund cleaned out by online fraudsters but has never lost more than $100 from his wallet when someone stole it. He never dreamed that could happen as the bank is supposed to be safe. Poor chap.

Let’s stop the idiots from making it redundant because of their desire to streamline their profit making at the expense of customers like your dad and us.
THERE IS MORE ELECTRONIC CRIME THAN CASH CRIME! You can't hack or scan the cash off someone. There are many people in situations that are completely legitimate, that rely on cash and and denying them that would literally create a life ending scenario for them. So anyone pushing cashless, is threatening and promoting killing people and that's an extremely evil and disproportionate position to take against what ever little inconvenience YOU think cash is!

When a government can gain complete control, it makes no difference what the laws say. A dictatorial government won't follow any laws they don't like. It will make up any new laws it pleases. Speak up and you are screwed. China has now gone full monty - digital IDs, ESG scoring and now a CBDC. Just imagine getting caught using cash or doing anything else against the government rules and then find your digital accounts empty. That will be a death sentence.
What overheads, are you kidding! There are no fees on cash there is on every digital transaction so not sure where you are getting your information. The banks will only ever increase the fees don’t kid yourselves.
Youll regret leaving cash when there are blackouts and internet outages, which has happened plenty of times. Ive never left the house without cash and seen people unable to pay for item's during the optus outage last year. Cash is a must for all businesses. You gonna give kids a credit card to pay for their canteen lunches when theyre 6 or 7 years old? Older people have no idea how to use anything other than cash. I like how a note feels in my hand. I like taking out my wallet and seeing how much i have to work with. Stop being lazy and upping everyones transaction fees.

So will banks and associated financial institutions charge us a fee for every cashless transaction??
Garage sales, treasure markets etc. Kids doing odd jobs around the neighbourhood. Just a few examples.
Going cashless is foolish given when the electronics is down how do you pay for fuel, food or even a restaurant. Imagine a two three hundred dollar restaurant bill only to be told the system is down and cards wont work.
No, no, no, no, a thousand times no!
It's got nothing to do with being discrete. It's all about control!!,
My wife and I have just gone through an exercise of credit card fraud when we were fleeced of our hard earnt money.
Poor chap.
@@Kylie-oz3ks I am so sad to hear what happened to your father. You feel so helpless with these rotten creatures doing what they do. No matter what the banks and financial institutions say, on-line and credit facilities are always were and always will be defraud-able. Cash is “safe” or safer. Let’s stop the idiots from making it redundant because of their desire to streamline their profit making at the expense of customers like your dad and us.
Electronic transactions are no good when the power goes off for a couple of weeks.
Cash must stay legal tender. Without cash being a valid payment everywhere, a computer glitch, a power outage, a bad internet router, a downed satellite, and you are not paying for your groceries.
Key words here are TAX GOVERNMENT and RBA
What happens in a natural disaster no power floods outrages with phone hackers the list goes on
Power outages telecommunication breakdowns cards are useless
I prefer cash, i use cash 99.9% of the time, in business i give a 15%-20% discount if a customer uses cash.
I live in the Northern Territory and during cyclone Marcus noone could buy anything, i was the only one i knew had cash on hand.
A mostly cashless society is inevitable, but why officially de-legitimise cash? We seem to be moving towards totalitarianism.
Can't guarantee power and internet supply at all times...
No no no!! The cost from the banks per month cripple small business!! They will be making even more money!!
It is illegal to refuse to accept cash. It is a debt when purchasing something until you hand over the cash and the debt is paid.
Cyber online security needs to do a lot better before this. 'sorry you list your money ' is no where near good enough!
What overheads, are you kidding! There are no fees on cash there is on every digital transaction so not sure where you are getting your information. The banks will only ever increase the fees don’t kid yourselves.
One point that was left out when he was using 'it will reduce organised crime' as an excuse has he never heard of the massive increase of cyber crime
People mentioned they didn't carry a wallet as they were Worried about losing it , and the cash inside......what Happens when you lose your phone or it gets stolen......you lose yer 'life'....as most folk's life is on their mobile.
Have your bank account hacked your doomed if you do not have access to money
