Check out Welsh duo called Vanguard. 'Apollo', 'Mount Helicon' and 'Lovin Someone Else' are 3 of their best! :) I think they're about 19 or 20 years old
This is actually sampled. The sample is then filtered (they take out the bass) And then the bassline recreated in the computer with some virtual synths. When the sample sounds good with the new bassline, they just add a beat and sidechain the sample to the kick with a compressor . Hope it helped :)
thanks dude i appreciate you and everyone elses advice to help me out alot. i am alot more knowledgable about music production now than i was when i wrote that comment almost a year ago. my parents met this really cool deephouse producer by the name of s!lk visiting from germany and they let me meet him and i told him i was interested in making music so he has basically took me under his wing and has been showing me ALOT of stuff. thanks for the advice anyways dude i appreciate it
It's definitely sampled. Some of the toms sound sampled too. He's got some layered synths in there, his own hi hat samples, kick drum, and I think the bass line is his too.
it's likely 95% sampled, with most of the hooks coming from one, or MAYBE two old-school disco records. FutureMusic did an episode of "In The Studio With..." Louis LaRoche recently, which you should check out if you're interested in this sort of thing, because LLR basically goes through the whole process from sample-hunting to arrangement and mixing.
I can guarantee there are a few samples in here. These French artists know what the hell is up and how to do it. The rest is stuff he makes. Old french disco and electronic records is where he probably got some of this stuff.
I'm pretty sure he did some sampling. It's popular with disco house to sample old songs, in fact, if you want to hear some awesome sampling check out Absolute ego riot by the phantoms revenge, When you wake up tomorrow by Candi Staton (Jay Santi remix) and the original of when you wake up tomorrow by Candi Staton.
If you like this kind of music, daft punk, justice. that music is based around a concept where you compose a piece on a MIDI piano, then fill in the notes you play with various samples (heavily edited and effected, filtered, EQd). You can use synths to help strengthen and connect the piece, and if you want to go more french house then anything then making your own loops from old disco songs, apply effects, and a fat kick (not vengeance make your own layered kicks) Check out Phase Inverter too.
Hello man, i'm 14 too and i'm used to produce since 2 years... This is french house and its made from a sample (usually disco). You edit it, cut the low frequencies and then recreate drums and a new bassline to go with it :) hope it helped!
Yeah mate its mainly sampled from old Jazz tunes etc, and maybe some 80's soul music. Just check out all the older Era music which contains saxophones etc its very interesting, Louis would have modified the drumbeats to his own
I dunno why but when I listen to new jack by justice..... I know there isn't any comparison on quality but when I hear this ... new jack sampling plays in my head and vice versa
i just want to know because i am really interested in this type of music. and i want to make this when im older. i just dont know if this is sampling, which in that case, a midi controller would be more useful or if it is completely from scratch which i would buy a synth keyboard. im only 14
Definitely a filtered sample. Probably from some older Disco or Funk song. that's what french house producers usually sample. You might want to get a synthesizer to make your own basslines, He makes those himself. Try free digital synthesizers first because those things are expensive :) Good luck! I've been producing since I was 16 and it's great fun!
im sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but is this sample music or was it completely made from scratch? it seems to me like it was sample music put through filters and then some additional synths were added
ahh ok mate perfect age for producin music you will not be the first producer with that age the last ones of this age i have met were genius :) i think it´s sampled
i will tell you the truth i don´t know how he made this lol was not with him ;) but for me it does not matter, it must sound awesome This is the most Important

I thought I heard a possible sample in "Stomp" by The Brothers Johnson
I was thinking the same, this really sounds like a Benson vocal, can't find it though... I'll keep looking.

Sorry dude. One way to stop replies would be to delete the comment.
an accident I'm guessing?
Start with some software to make music from scratch. Learn the basics and you can go from there.
