Ppl say its forced romance but sometimes we just forget how good the MC we play as really is, Rover lorewise is goodlooking, dependable, kind, strong asf, high status and have heroic feats. Consider how famous Rover is, just imagine your favorite celebrity approach you irl, I mean, do u rlly need an entire arc to have a crush on them, or merely just a first sight or talk gets u to alr think about the "future".
Therefore remember, the waifus fall for Rover, not you, if it were us in there, they wouldnt even bat an eye lol
A lot of the people crying about romances with Rover are Yuri shippers and are only mad because they extend to male Rover as well instead of just female Rover.
I can guarantee you that if the promotional material and romantic moments were solely relegated to female Rover, the very same people crying about “muh self insert” or “muh character erasure” would be screaming at the top of their lungs in joy and would praise these moments to high heaven.

@@shell6467 Exactly, just one look at what happened with Firefly and Robin in HSR or Citlali in Genshin should tell you how bad it’s gotten. So far, FGO seems to be the only gacha game with a choice for Protag’s gender that seems to have avoided this predicament somehow.

Tbh I don't mind if this is "Gathering Wives", I mean rover is strong, cool, brave & good looking. Even irl, powerful person have a lot of love interest
In my opinion, contrary to what others believe, i think Camellya and Shorekeeper wouldn't really mind if he does have other wives or sidechick. Camellya wants to be with him, love or without love. She wants to be right next to him. Shorekeeper, on the other hand, knew very well that regardless of how many women he's with, he will always come back to her because they're both immortal. Their love for each other has been tested by time itself. In addition, both of them wants him to be happy so they're fine as long as he's happy.
Jihnsi, Yapyap, Changli, on the other hand, they'd be pissed.
Ngl it would be a funny plot twist if one day Rover decided to expel Camellya and Shorekeeper from the Black Shores and take someone else in their place, explaining that he is now a completely different person and is more interested in the company of other characters.

Its interesting cause compare to other female characters, Carlotta share the most romantic scene with male rover in the story, including the dance and male rover holding carlotta.

Out of all characters, only Yangyang, Camellya, Shorekeeper, and Carlotta shown interest on Rover romantically. Camellya is weird...? Shorekeeper...I feel like she likes Rover but I also feel like she also see him as her master or something... Yangyang is shy about her feelings. As for Carlotta, damn, her interaction with Rover and their teamwork is amazing. It really felt like they are working together unlike other character stories.
Changli is beautiful and had a great chemistry with Rover too but I feel like she really likes teasing him
@rosalcharisse9426 At the same time it is obvious that Rover just doesn't like Camellya, moreover, he was irritated by her behaviour during all her quest. And for me it has always seemed that Changli just wants to be a mentor for Rover (just like for Jinhsi) - she is always ready to give him good advice and to help with decision-making. I even remember how during the event in patch 1.2 she helped Rover to solve the riddle.

To be fair, not many people complain about female to male ratio in Kuro’s games. They made the male characters so likable (personality and designs wise) unlike certain game that people couldn’t care less about the F:M ratio

So far only 2 characters have directly expressed their feelings to Rover - Shorekeeper and Camellya. And each of them has a bunch of reasons for that, all of that were explained in their stories, and in their character stories there is additional information about their past with Rover, their thoughts about him and their attitudes towards him. Almost every thing in their information is dedicated to him.
In comparison, the attitude of other characters towards Rover can be interpreted in different ways - for example, as deep respect for him, as desire to be friends with him, and so on. This type of developing the relationships between the characters, which can be interpreted by the players themselves in different ways is a common thing for many games of this genre after all.
Carlotta, Shorekeeper and Rover's romance build are Spectacular. Definitely my choices
Even the NPCs can't escape his rizz. Every time a female NPC asks for help, one of the dialogue options is always, "Well, I think you're kinda cute."

Been a Jinshi fan since day 1 and still am. But idk, Carlotta and Rover Chemistry was off the charts during both quests, i honestly wouldnt be surprised if this was the canon ship.

Unfortunately, this is just the wrong genre of game for canon relationships... The whole point of relationships between characters in gacha games is to give players an opportunity to interpret it in different ways as they will like. And of course, to make as many these kinds of relationships between different characters and MC as possible. Because of this in games of this genre just will never be a canon relationships. But ngl, I would like to see it, especially in case of Carlotta and Rover.
Back to the topic of relationships between characters in gacha games. There can be a different level of closeness between MC and other characters, and if we put more attention in information about characters, then we will see that so far only Camellya and Shorekeeper seem to be the closest characters for Rover. Literally every story in their character stories is dedicated to him, and only they have special spots and dialogues with Rover after their stories.
