Dear Pravinder Ji,
As usual, a very nice, honest and to the point review on the Tecsun S-2000 table-top radio. The S-2000 is almost 15 years old Radio receiver. As I understand, over these many years, the design as well as the software has never been changed nor modified. We see it 'as is' with no change whatsoever. However, the S-2000 has a nice form factor and nostalgic looks, but that alone don't make it a great radio as proved by Pravinder Ji. You bring out some glaring drawbacks of this radio, thus making it unworthy of the asking retail price.
In my post on Shri Pravinder Ji's introductory video titled - "Flagship Radio from Tecsun", I had mentioned that this radio be compared with one of the cheapest available radio (Pagaria) but to exclude compare the sound output. The reason being the S-2000 would certainly have a good pre-amp as well as main amp with a big size full range speaker.
I am very grateful to Pravinder Ji, for doing a great job in bringing to us these educative reviews/opinion on various different kind/type of radio. Thank you for your time and efforts sir.
I do look forward to a couple of more reviews on the Tecsun S-2000.

Haha, FM par to D-808 super King hai Kamal ji. Suppose kijiye jo log usako 6400/- Rupees mein le gaye, unmein se kayi ko to shayad pata bhi nahin hai unhone kya le liya. Aur jinko complain hai ki unhone kya le liya, unka to bhagwan hi malik hai 😂😆😂😆

A significant review series which I am sure would be followed by comparisons with other portables is hands down one of a kind offering from your end to us. Hats off to your efforts. I feel S-2000 needs a revisit by Tecsun Officials to mandatorily perform necessary upgrades in terms of today's requirements and technological advancements. No doubt this Old Boy could be easily surpassed by many today's high end portables from Tecsun itself and other reputed brands like XHDATA, Sangean etc. in many domains. Would be waiting for it's comparison videos. If seems worth it, please don't hesitate it comparing it with your lower end portables too. 73! 🙏

Tecsun should definitely furnish it further with cutting edge technology and should make it the best portable Radio available worldwide.

Ji, I can't give a hint, but next three videos will be comparison videos between the two, and you will have more clarity.
Most portable shortwave radios before digital signal processing had only one or two bandwidth filters. Only communication receivers costing $500 and more had more than two bandwidth filters. That's because having more filters would have added to the cost of the radio. With DSP chips, you can have as many bandwidth filters as you like without adding to the cost. Lack of the synchronous detection feature in this radio is a major drawback.

अगर इसमें डबल स्पीकर होता तो एफ एम के स्टीरियो फोनिक साउंड का अनुभव कर सकते।जब से रेडियो बनने शुरू हो गए हैं तो शुरूआती दौर में डबल स्पीकर वाले रेडियो देखे थे।अब तो सिंगल स्पीकर वाले रेडियो ही बनते हैं। बाद में टू इन वन में डबल स्पीकर आते थे लेकिन उनके रेडियो रिसिवर कमजोर होते थे। कुछ मजा नहीं आया। इससे अच्छे और सस्ते रेडियो आपने दिखाए है।
Vijay ji, namaskar. Ji bilkul, speaker halanki solid hai, lekin single hai. Ye ek bada plus point bhi hai aur minus bhi. Radio waise solid hi hai ye, agar kisi ke paas itna paisa ho lene ke liye aur koyi bahut bada search abhiyan na chalana ho Radio par, to lene layak hai ye Radio.

sir, in my opinion, at present best way to listen radio prog. specially All India Radio prog., is through news on air app, in smartphone connected with a good quality speaker. this is cost effective with quality sound, which is not possible by any radio.
Rabin ji, on this channel when we support Radio, we support its original and purest form, that is a receiver. Apps are actually killing the Radio and that is why not even a single video was dedicated to Radio apps.
