  • On the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, the Roman Missal foresees a procession of blessed candles prior to the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Aside from Simeon's Canticle (Nunc Dimittis), the second appointed antiphon for the Procession is Adorna Thalamum Tuum Sion (Sion, Adorn Your Bridal Chamber), ending with the Entrance Antiphon Suscepimus Deus Misericordiam Tuam (We Have Received Your Mercy, Lord) upon the procession's entry into the Church. This setting combines both the aforementioned antiphon and Suscepimus into one coherent song, with Adorna Thalamum as the recurring refrain.
The beauty of the antiphon lies in its spousal imagery, with Christ as the Bridegroom who goes forth to meet His Bride, Israel (represented by the Temple of Jerusalem).
SAnKTUM sings Adorna Thalamum Tuum, Sion, for the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord.
