During the First World War in 1914, German soldiers burned Kalisz - then the sixth largest city in Poland, after two German patrols fired on each other. The thing with not having change for a hundred is that if many people pay with high bills the sellers end up with less small change. At the very beginning of the First World War, on August 2, 1914, German troops entered Kalisz without a fight. In the period 7-22 August 1914 for unexplained reasons they fired, bombed and later set fire to the defenseless city. It is commonly believed that Kalisz was almost completely destroyed by units under the command of Major Hermann Preusker; however, there are sources indicating Colonel Hoffman of Landwehr-Infanterie-Regiment No. 7 as the perpetrator. The building of the town hall and the theatre was burnt down. 95% of the old town's buildings were destroyed, which resulted in the exodus of the population and a decrease in the number of inhabitants from 70 to 5 thousand. On Wind Hill 80 Polish civilians were murdered ...

Been in beautiful Poland since May...hardest thing to do in Poland is get change. I go into a big well known bank..”change please. No we don’t give change.” What! Found the small banks or credit unions will give change.
Have fun Luke, looks like you really like Poland👍😍
Widzieliśmy; Stary Rynek (Old Town), Nowy Rynek (this market with fruits and clothes), centrum handlowe Galeria Tęcza (shopping center Rainbow Mall) ;) A kościiół 'z dzwonem' to Kościół pw. św. Mikołaja (church with bell its Saint Nicolas Church ;) Tak dwujęzycznie skomentowałem by było trudniej ;)
Great video!!
