Braking in this game doesn't feel like using brake pads; it's more like sticking two breads to the front caliper. I prefer the handling in RIDE 4 over this game. The progression also feels odd, and the narrative dialog is quite cringe
😂😂 Imagine buying some Veserah Brake pads that used freshly sliced bread as the padding LOL. Agree with the progression, I think it was a last minute add in due to there crazy game release schedule. They need to wait a few years and really focus. Rims is def my absolute favorite now.
Yes but with the option to sell gifted or dlc bikes... Or to remove them to have a rewarding progress. And we need better designed careers and the ability to use all bikes in such cups because you can not use the 600PLUS cc bikes in any class in the career mode...
I saw Ride 5 pop up as on sale in my steam wish list today so thought I would check the latest reviews. This was awesome, great job with the review. I think I will go play some RIMS Racing now :)
Ride 4 has this ungodly annoying physics issue where cracking the throttle open mid corner to rotate the bike, doesnt rotate it, it creates yaw but very unnaturally ploughs the bike forward then it crashes. Hard to explain but its basically super unrealistic. The other thing is brakes are super unrealistic too, you can smash them mid corner, no crash (with ABS off). Even during a stoppie, slam on rear brake, wheel doesnt lock, so shits broken. Im wondering if Ride 5 has same issues
I will say some don't, but the vast majority have the same issue in Ride 5, over a certain speed. However, it is easier to set up the late apex corners now which is a big improvement.
Take it from a tryharding trackday nutter on a yamaha ; this review is absolutely amazing and I'm buying the game after hundreds of hours in Ride 4, you finally convinced me.

@@DylonND Some one reported me to sony as an easy time trial had been made a little bit harder in an update but I had already done it at the lesser time, F knows how youd cheat it anyway lol
I wish they made a game like this with cars. Since Driveclub we've had only Need for Speed and other open world games, but nothing that would make you feel like you're doing an on-road sport with powerful luxury road cars.
Ok so i am in the middle of the sweety rider and the casual player where if i play any rims racing or GP Bikes i just die, but i can play ride 4 and MotoGP games just fine. Because i have ride 4 and ride 5 seems just ride 4 if you got the ultimate edition (which i don't have because almost 100€ on a racing game is basically giving them all the money i have), is it worth it or i just need to wait for another ride/motorcycle game? Thank you
Its a shame all they did is more of the same, I ended up refunding it on this basis, "erm, Milestone, I already own Ride 4..." this did really feel like Ride 4.1 a lot of the time and while I did enjoy it, because I enjoyed Ride 1, 2, (not you 3) and 4 I was very likely going to enjoy 5 but it was just too samey for me. Also what is with the warbling engine sounds??
yep, it's a solid game - but not if you count all the other versions of ride. It needs to really go to the next level to be worth it. They did add Nevada, and Fuji to Ride 5 which is a plus but it is DLC I believe.
@@DylonND Ride is kinda like all the versions of a certain bike in game, like the 6 iterations of the R1 or Fireblade... Very nice but basically all the same.
Great to meet you today. Rims is really bad. Poor graphics physics and old menu's. I have the urge to get a refund but maybe that will change and I will push myself to dive back in on your recommendation. But in the meantime lets see you beat my 7m time on the Nordschleife in Ride 5 if your up for it. I've been pushing and havent gotten under 7m yet. And I can't find any ride 5 video's beating my bet time from you or anyone else.
I did manage to get it under 6 barley, but then I cut the grass on the 2nd to last turn LOL. Rims takes a few hours and then you really get the hang of it and it grows on you!
Don’t waste your money for this one. Ride 4 has better physics, which makes it more intuitive. Ride 5 makes me question fun as a concept and gives me an existential crisis. I regret not refunding it in time 😂
Physics-wise it's fairly fun and a slight but welcome improvement over Ride 4 imo, though the rear brake seems to do fuck-all unless you're riding a supermoto now for some reason. The AI is okay (as long as you disable collisions or lower their aggressiveness) at first but after you figure out the game in ~3 weeks they become slow and useless even at 120% difficulty unless you're riding an inferior motorcycle. My biggest issue is the repetitive and boring nature of career mode. It's very restrictive in terms of events (can only do 1 or maybe 2 at a time) and they're insanely repetitive - you'll just finish the Italian 1000cc sportbike trophy to get thrown into the Italian 1000cc sportbike championship right after. They should take a note from Gran Turismo 4's book in this regard and give the player more freedom & variety because as is Ride 5 career mode is my go-to game for falling asleep easier before bed, as it's just that monotone. Sounds are inconsistent, some are good, some are horseshit. Biggest offender is that an aftermarket exhaust is just about entirely visual regardless of which one you pick and does nothing to change the sound except add some more pops and bangs. Fully agree on the customization and tbh I wish the physics were slightly more hardcore to keep more dedicated players entertained. Maybe I speak for myself but I believe motorcycle games are niche enough and if you're seeking one you probably lean more to the simulation side of things than arcade. Single race mode where I just pick out some bikes I find neat to race against similar ones is probably the most fun I've had in the game. Overall not bad but the Ride series is starting to feel like Todd Howard selling me Skyrim for the 50th fucking time. If Ride 6 is as unsubstantially different from Ride 5 as it is from 4 I'm giving up on the series. Also they need to add a 2008 Kawasaki Z750, totally unbiased and definitely not because I own one.
😂😂 They DO need to add the 2008 Kawsaki z750 to the game! Maybe a 06 Sv650 & 2020 Ninja 400 & 2008 Z750 pack incoming *please milestone*?? Yeah rear brake just locks that end up, lol. That's exactly how I feel about Ride, I'm buying skyrim for the 50th time. Sounds have always been hit and miss too, Rims Racing is just better in every way, have you tried it? They also updated the race creator, but didn't add an all tab, I was like you had one job!!!
@@DylonND Yeah there's a lack of popular older mid tier bikes that the plentiful amount of irl owners would love to see. Or even old legendary stuff like the 2 stroke 3cy Kawasakis of old. I've yet to try Rims for the similar lack of content though I've seen the review and I just might give that and GP Bikes a go for the physics alone.

Yeah, I still haven't made up my mind on where it sits.

exactly!!! Milestone needs to take it into the future
whats the tank game that appears at 3:40?
That is Operation Flashpoint! The Original Arma, lol

Yo! I would wait until a deep sale and grab it with the season pass - they've put A LOT of bikes behind the paywall. (Supermotos & scooters for one.)

playing it right now! I'm enjoying it.
