For ppl who read corners like me. Cover 2 the corners play 5 yards back. Cover 4 plays 8-10 yards Cover 6 will have one side with a cover 4 look and the other with a cover 2 look. Don't see cover 9 online, so I can't help you there lol
These are all good tells for basic coverages...But for other coverages, cover 4 show 2, cover 3 buzz show 2, cover 6 show 2, cover 9 show 2, Tampa 2, nickel blitz 2, buck slant 3 show 2, etc....All look the same with suttle differances but are all lined up 5 yards off the ball
Dude thanks so much for the flow chart. Went 30-10 on H2H, and then my opponents got noticeably harder and I’ve been losing a ton, now 39-33. I’ll be spending plenty of time using this in practice mode and referring to the flow chart to memorize it.

I wish madden would add in these tips somehow to your pre snap look and highlight routes that look good or something, like showing the zones when you check a run play. It should be a QB play recognition rating. Like if you played with Brady or it would be really accurate. I didn’t play football at a high level and don’t know these things but find it really interesting. I’d love to learn these things through madden.

It’s sad that this isn’t the case for Bunch. You’d literally have to learn every formation and how each coverage looks, that is A LOTTT of work to do. And even MORE work to REMEMBER. And even worse in close tight ball games. I’m in practice mode in Cover 4 Show 2 literally lines up on the outside of the outer WR lol. And the safety didn’t move so it could be Cover 2, 3, or 4. I’m gonna try 335 and see if I get the same results

I still struggle to identify what my opponent is in. Alot of defenses are already disguised like the cover 3's with two high safeties or cover 2 show cover 4 and stuff like that. I try to pay attention to how my own players are aligned just to get used to seeing and understanding how the players align and react. I wish practice mode wasn't so slow and tedious. Reading just about every defenses base alignment isn't hard but there's so many formations that you really have to make post snap reads to understand what defense it is. Madden is a very deep game.

I'll definitely write it down to see if it could be a video, but I think the best way to improve post-snap is simply getting lots of reps in. I try to stick to a few fundamental route concepts where I always know where my receivers will be, and having that comfort with the route combos really helps for when the defense post-snap ends up different than what I expected
