I was really depressed, to the point of attempting suicide, and my room was way worse than this. it was literally disgusting and the entire mess had happened in the span of like 3 months. after I got out of the hospital I slowly started to pick up items and move things around. several months later I had experienced an awakening in myself and I started to actually clean but I was also too busy with school. now that school is over I have started to thoroughly clean and purge items and my life feels completely different compared to a year ago.

Nice work, thanks for sharing! I find that as long as each item has a home where they are supposed to go, cleaning is not too bad... permanent clutter starts to build up if you have things that don't have their home.
About half way in - and for me it gets to that stage where it feels like you're spending HOURS and all you're doing is moving piles from one place to the other before suddenly you're like oh wow! floor! where did that come from!?. I'm at this pile stage now. I've never been anally retentively tidy but since this pandemic has had us basically under house arrest and depression kicked in this is the state my space is in. it's horrible. sorting stuff out is exhausting when you don't even know where to start because there's just so much and it just seems like piles move but don't reduce. This has given me some motivation to keep going. thanks!

With a spinal cord injury and 3 teenagers plus a hubby who works long hours plus add in 16 nieces and nephews who love to come over- heaven knows my house is crazy and I used to be so proud of how cute ands organized my little house was- then spinal cord injury, paralyzed for 6 months and then add in gaining over a hundred pounds in those 6 months from steroids ands getting fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome- it all equals hot mess house lol! But I have a big goal for the new year to go thru and get rid of everything pretty much lolol. Let's see if my hubby and teens will go along with that lololol 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I totally want to make youtube cleaning videos because it's a good way to motivate myself to do it but this is so embarrassing lol- im fat now and i'm too embarrassed to let people see a fat chick trying to clean a hot mess lololol 😜😜😜😂😂😂
@@jaelleerica That is an excellent idea! I was in nursing school full time, and raising 3 kiddos and my house got out from under me too. The best things that have helped me were reading "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up" and then doing the flylady system to maintain it. Flylady Kat here on YT has a video about how to begin. My house is so much more manageable now. You can do it!

It’s so good to finally see one of these room cleaning videos where yes the room actually messy (okay, but that’s why we watching - most of us should be cleaning our own rooms but it will happen - in most cases I hope) to begin with but ‘cleaned properly & thoroughly’... without clothes stuffed under the bed or some of the other weird things I’ve seen people do. Some people don’t even change the sheets! As opposed to you cleaning each surface and just doing a very thorough job. Your room looks awesome and you should be extremely proud of yourself. I know I have to attempt the same. Different issues, but it still needs cleaning.. Or tidying decluttering - call it what you will. I have a lot to donate! Suitcases (from Hospital) to unpack only to repack (for hospital again)... Awesome Vid!
Looked like all the clothes were taken from the closet etc just to be able to sort through them, she was sorting through paperwork and clothes that's not the normal mess that mess is created when all your stuff is pulled out to sort through.

Megan thank you for the inspiration. This is my house after many years I declared a coup with my family when they thought I was "their maid". So when everyone is out of the house, I will clean it up. Until then, I do pick up the trash and do dishes but not cleaning their messes anymore. Working on my bedroom my bath this week.
I'm naturally a clean person. I was also raised in a household where daily cleaning was essential and expected of us. However, I am also diagnosed with depression/anxiety. Although I am medicated, I still have depressive episodes. When I get in these episodes, my room ends up a MESS. Then I have so much anxiety about the mess that I kind of freeze. I don't know where to start or what to do and it gets worse and worse. Of course as I come out of the episode, I make list and task to get the cleaning done. But for those wondering how could a person possibly let their room/house get that bad, just consider the above. I do not know this girl or her reasoning. it's not really my business. but please don't be so quick to judge. A little tip to anyone struggling this way. Pay attention to what you buy and bring into your home. Things can quickly pile and the less you have the less you have to clean. Much love, xx

I like watching videos like these because it really helps to motivate me. I struggle with a lack of motivation for a lot of stuff, cleaning my room especially. Nice work, thanks for sharing! I find that as long as each item has a home where they are supposed to go, cleaning is not too bad... permanent clutter starts to build up if you have things that don't have their home.

About half way in - and for me it gets to that stage where it feels like you're spending HOURS and all you're doing is moving piles from one place to the other before suddenly you're like oh wow! floor! where did that come from!?. I'm at this pile stage now. I've never been anally retentively tidy but since this pandemic has had us basically under house arrest and depression kicked in this is the state my space is in. it's horrible. sorting stuff out is exhausting when you don't even know where to start because there's just so much and it just seems like piles move but don't reduce. This has given me some motivation to keep going. thanks!

With a spinal cord injury and 3 teenagers plus a hubby who works long hours plus add in 16 nieces and nephews who love to come over- heaven knows my house is crazy and I used to be so proud of how cute ands organized my little house was- then spinal cord injury, paralyzed for 6 months and then add in gaining over a hundred pounds in those 6 months from steroids ands getting fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome- it all equals hot mess house lol! But I have a big goal for the new year to go thru and get rid of everything pretty much lolol. Let's see if my hubby and teens will go along with that lololol 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I totally want to make youtube cleaning videos because it's a good way to motivate myself to do it but this is so embarrassing lol- im fat now and i'm too embarrassed to let people see a fat chick trying to clean a hot mess lololol 😜😜😜😂😂😂
@@jaelleerica That is an excellent idea! I was in nursing school full time, and raising 3 kiddos and my house got out from under me too. The best things that have helped me were reading "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up" and then doing the flylady system to maintain it. Flylady Kat here on YT has a video about how to begin. My house is so much more manageable now. You can do it!

However this looks like her room and her mess and it’s obvious to me that she doesn’t mind if he helps or not, she might not even want his help. It’s so good to finally see one of these room cleaning videos where yes the room actually messy (okay, but that’s why we watching - most of us should be cleaning our own rooms but it will happen - in most cases I hope) to begin with but ‘cleaned properly & thoroughly’... without clothes stuffed under the bed or some of the other weird things I’ve seen people do. Some people don’t even change the sheets! As opposed to you cleaning each surface and just doing a very thorough job. Your room looks awesome and you should be extremely proud of yourself. I know I have to attempt the same. Different issues, but it still needs cleaning.. Or tidying decluttering - call it what you will. I have a lot to donate! Suitcases (from Hospital) to unpack only to repack (for hospital again)... Awesome Vid!

Megan thank you for the inspiration. This is my house after many years I declared a coup with my family when they thought I was "their maid". So when everyone is out of the house, I will clean it up. Until then, I do pick up the trash and do dishes but not cleaning their messes anymore. Working on my bedroom my bath this week.

I'm naturally a clean person. I was also raised in a household where daily cleaning was essential and expected of us. However, I am also diagnosed with depression/anxiety. Although I am medicated, I still have depressive episodes. When I get in these episodes, my room ends up a MESS. Then I have so much anxiety about the mess that I kind of freeze. I don't know where to start or what to do and it gets worse and worse. Of course as I come out of the episode, I make list and task to get the cleaning done. But for those wondering how could a person possibly let their room/house get that bad, just consider the above. I do not know this girl or her reasoning. it's not really my business. but please don't be so quick to judge. A little tip to anyone struggling this way. Pay attention to what you buy and bring into your home. Things can quickly pile and the less you have the less you have to clean.

To the people bashing the boy, from what it looks like, he just got home mid way through her cleaning. He helped a bit but he was probably tired from school or work. Plus it’s easier to clean alone. It was nice that he stayed in there to keep her company though.
