Love this place. Some of my best memories fishing with the old man pulling walleye and saugers hand over fist into the boat.
I have been dragging for over ten years and I can tell you, it works perfectly!!!
I love fishing on the Mississippi River
Yes, each angler may use two rods on the Mississippi River in areas that share a border with WI.
Heading there this weekend. Can't wait.
It would be my late christmas gift to fish with you guys.
You guys should check out the maumee river walleye run some time. It's the biggest walleye run east of the Mississippi and a whole different style of fishing. It's just getting started now.
Great video guys. Everyone seems to be hung up on catching big fish. This is just good clean fun Its great to see the pros just having fun fishing. Size doesnt matter. :)
You guys are great - well filmed. Half these videos leave out so much information. I really appreciate all the info - " If you can't catch walleye here - Its not good" - Hilarious
Thank you-
You guys should come back to Red Wing & go to Bay Point & do a little ice fishing!
Actually we're quite a bit north of Lake City. Red Wing is the closest town on the MN side of the river. We launched out of Everts Resort and headed upstream to the dam area.
Wow holy dedication batman!...nice job fellas!
Awesome video , can't wait to try this out !
My friend caught a 32 inch from shore 2 years ago right across from the harbor bar, im headed to red wing in a nice boat to do some fishing tomorrow at noon hopefully we catch some fish.
I like the way you grab the Sander lucioperca by the belly. Cute and effective. The gigs suck thou. It seems anything and every other technique would fish more and bigger.
Rapalfan1 - those are redhorse sucker. Cool looking fish, yes?! Any place we found walleye we found the redhorse as well.
You guys should really check out Last Mountain Lake Saskatchewan Canada for ice fishing. A lot of big hogs pulled out of there! But you get to the good parts you need an hour skidoo ride
Buddy laughs like Eric from Billy Madison 😂
Great fishing spot I'm from Iowa my uncle knew the owner of everts resort and I go up the 5 to 6 times a year and we have never had a disappointing trip
Thanks! You guys should do a episode on winter bass.(river)
Good job boys
Fish can be caught from shore in Red Wing. Try Bay Pt. Park near the upper harbor entrance.
Buy that guy a new hat james...hes deserves it!!
poor cameraman have to film you guys having all that fun! lol
This particular bite will continue to improve until the middle of April.
Awesome video! Love fishing the miss. So many diff species and nearly no traffic except hot summer weekends ha. You try searching for some big females a little bit downstream?
No, we never made it downstream from the "Y." We will in the coming weeks though. Don't be surprised if we put out a video focused on big fish only in follow up to this "numbers" show.
No, this was filmed at Red Wing, MN.
Nope, no smallies. But then we were on the sand looking for eyes. To camera smallies all you need do is switch to the other side of the river along the rocks. Walla! Smallies. And gar and sheepshead and channel cats. It is very cool how different species make use of different parts of the river at a given time of year.
Hitting up some islands in a tailwater section of the fox river. Going for cats and walleye. I will probably get skunked because I never catch anything in tailwaters.
Great video! I was wondering if the dragging technique can be applied later in the season, and in deeper water. Love your videos and can't wait to get up north for some big Minnesota eyes'.
First walleyeat the maumee was caught the other day
I just picked up some Moxies at Fleet Farm. I will be trying the, tomorrow
I live in Rochester but I fish the Wabasha/Nelson area.
How does the technique change as you get deeper into the bite?.....March and April
You direct tie onto the orange line? No fluoro leader? With it being so clear, does that cause any problems?
Hi, I'm heading up to Red Wing soon...do you prefer braided line or mono? Also are there any other plastics you like to use?
Any idea what the air/water temp was? Maybe it's been covered. Sorry if it has.
James do think it would be good to go there for walleye openier?
Staying @ Treasure Island Casino for a week long vacation. I will be docking behind the casino. We have 3 families vacationing together... We are the Dad's trying to escape, to fish the Mississipi River and/or St Croix. If you know this area... I would love to hear your advice. Thanks. Desperate Dad's
Do you think this type of presentation would work during the same time of year but right below Lock and Dam #11 (Dubuque, IA)?
Did you guys happened to any smallies with the marcum?
Nice
i want to fish with you guys!!
James, when does the bite their usually start to taper off?
Thanks
Love your videos and TV show watch it every Sunday it is on. What is your favorite jigging technique for walleyes? Also what is your biggest walleye you have caught? My best is 26 1/2
Which dam do you fish by and where are the boat ramps
So , how many fish could you keep to eat out of the river? I've noticed you usually keep dinner fish which any true sportsman does but didn't on the river jw
is there a good shore fishing spot?
Looks to me like Sufix Siege mono in tangerine.
It kills me that you kept no eaters. I'm sitting here tasting the fillets as you turn them loose.
I agree.... would have kept a few for home
Check your MN/WI regulations booklet for border waters. Everything you need to know is right there. I'd link you to the info but youtube doesn't allow links in replies.
How far down from the dam were you?
What kind of line do you guys use?
would ringworms work ok? thats all i have and not a lot of money
What size jighead are you using?
What are the regulations for fishing like this?
Too bad this location ruined now.
