Ninja Gaiden involves an ultra superior ninja, capable of defying the laws of physics by climbing through walls, making dogs explode with his sword, and all while beating bad guys in record time.
After nearly 6 years, better knowledge of the game's emulation, and intensive bot-driven-exploration, this collaborative run by eien86 ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/e... ) and Scumtron ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/S... ) improves the previous movie ( tasvideos.org/3223M ) by 1 frame.

WOW 1 FRAME IMPROVE LETS GO
Truly a remarkable breakthrough in tool assisted speedrun history
Lol
but this one looks much more funny🤣
So this is what the stages beyond 2-2 look like.
2-2 is a biiiiiitch
What are you having trouble with stage 2-2?
@@jenkathefridge3933Probably getting knocked into pits
@@silverflight01 in stage 2-2 you want to jump at the last pit you want jump at the last late moment and hit the bird but the enemy will hit you so it doesn't matter
And clonk.
That's a good clonk
4:37 for one of the best songs in all of the NES library. Too bad this was only used in one level.
It's also the end credits theme.
I believe it’s titled “and then we spin (and then we win)”
it's also sort of a cover/reference to the 1986 hit (in japan) by yoko oginome, "dancing hero (eat you up)
ua-cam.com/video/tgNIeWvXKNM/v-deo.html
It was also used in the GB ninja gaiden
5:14
see you in 2028 with another frame improvement
And over on this TAS exhibit, 10:35,
we have arguably the trickest part of the game in normal runs, where losing _at_ _all_ (not even game overing) to him sends you all the way back to 6-1, before 6-2 a notorius stage in video games. Watch how the TAS wi..and the exhibit's already cleared by the time it took to read this.
According to the description:
Only one frame but a lot of differences.
The critical 1 frame difference was stage 5-2 and 5-3, where they managed to remain further ahead by skipping a 10 point weapon item (ninpo), by collecting a different +5 ninpo in 5-2, and not using 5 ninpo on 2 enemies in stage 5-3.
There were lots of inconsequential (0 frame change) changes, optimised entertainment - yeah! - and showcase of different routes for different TAS attempts.
But obviously the most _important_ change was _Train_ _Mode_ !
What's train mode? Where Ryu is moving forward but his legs appear to be stationary?
Damn that first level track is fire 🔥🧙♀️
4:40 if you are wondering why Ryu slides over in this level, it's because he's on rails and TRAIN MODE is active ;)
nice TAS! do you think there's any frames left to improve?
@@metarotta yes. At least 2. Scum & I are convinced that will be able to get those in years to come
i love train mode thank you
r/thankscyno
And Arcus will be as close as possible for this run.
Is he still second?
@@fyzzlefry Yep. 1 second away from WR
@@forgiveman Nice, last I looked his best splits would total a world record, it's just a matter of time.
From what I've seen between him & Retro Runner. He needs to improve on his wall climbing. R&R is a much better climber.
I always liked how the birds in 3-2 flapped along with the music.
Reset, mash mash mash, aaaand clunk.
0:43 - Bzzt! That was a good bzzt!
Arcus
After ending..
Trevor Belmont: i just arrive, now where is the castle?
A true ninja can run without moving his legs.
Damn, 1 FULL frame, nice
Excelente!!!
I would really want to know what was the concept behind Level 2. You finish Level 1 in a bar somewhere in a big city, then you appear inside a huge factory of nothing that specializes in bottomless pits and not having stairs, and when you finally find the exit, you find yourself face to face with a crucifix-tossing zombie wrapped in a white shroud standing on some greek ruins.
Waï, Japan?
Japan was lead to believe this was endemic to all major American cities, as common as local parks or axe murderers
6:31 Double skreee lets go!!!
So this is what they were talking about on Discord.
Pretty good run.
Wow a masterpiece
ALL Bosses list
0:40 the barbarian
2:28 bomberhead
3:48 basaquer
5:54 kelbeross
8:06 bloody malth
10:19 masked devil, jaquio and jashin
First three acts were so easy Ryu even didn’t move his legs!lol
When the sun rising at the end that little melody reminds me of Sonic 2 ending when tails save him and fly to the front of the screen.
Jumpin and a spinnin, getting some Glods
How much time is saved with that stutter step / blur on a stage like stage 1? I'm just curious how much this TAS saves by way of just those impossible inputs.
this movement was only for entertainment purposes, no frames saved :P
@@eien86 I wasn't sure if it was like NES Super Mario Bros with the impossible fast accel that only a TAS could input. Thanks for clarifying.
Seeing Ryu slide like a statue will never not be funny
Cómo amo la canción Unbreakable Determination (la del nivel 4-2 y los créditos)
Es increíble lo que hacían con el limitado chip de sonido de las consolas de antes jajaja, son una obra de arte
Tan pro que se mueve sin moverse
Everyday I'm shufflin'
Ninja gaiden gooooo!!!
bzzzz, swag star...
aaand CLUNK
That was a good BZZZZT
I was so poud of beating this game in 88. I played part 2 pretty far in. I don't remember if i beat it.
i played the ever living shit out of this game and beat it once. ONCE. It is so unforgiving and relentless. I love it!
Ryu needs to get his Parkinson's checked out
Why isnt he running?
Simultaneous left-right press not possible on a real controller. Only emulator.
5:07 C'mon. Even in TAS mode a hit should be a hit.
Is him floating instead of walking?
Is
No, that a TAS feature. It happens when you hold Left and Right on the joystick at the same time. I made a TAS of this game once, it's a very fun one to do.
how is it doing that slide?
It"s beyong human capability. Look at the final boss when it drops its head. Tas managed to destroy it before it dropped. It impossible to do that.
Ryu's sliding is done by holding Left and Right at the same time, something impossible on actual hardware (there's a bump in the NES D-Pad that prevents it), but doable on emulator
@Arcus where are you... 🤔
Happy 35th anniversary, North American release!
This can be like cheating but this game deserves this kind of treatment xD
16:16
6 years to save a frame, and they didn't even save an A press
This is how I play the game, I just do it way faster.
Ninya gaiden sike es un experto usando la espada al atakar al enemigo 👁️
Hey wtf you can't do that
This is not how you play ninja gaiden.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Every swift blade attack followed with those crazy fkn jumps go with the soundtrack perfect feels like a movie 👍👍👍👍👍👍🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍
1 frame attack🤣
等速直線運動やめいww
Killing the bosses with ONE hit?? WTF
The spin slash deals damage every frame (1/60 of a second), so you can jump and spin slash into a boss and they'll go down almost immediately
