The reason I became interested in slingshots was because of slingshot rifles. I bought one of those ready made ones from China and, though it's expensive, it's a lot of fun. It uses 6 latex tubes and it's pretty powerful. The trigger assembly slides up and down a couple of steel rails, so to load it, the trigger is allowed to slide down to the forks and the pouch is inserted without any tension on the bands, then using a stirrup on the front forks, the trigger is pulled back into position and then locked into place. It reduces the risk of any misfires. It also has picatinny rails so you can trick it out with sights, a bipod, laser sight etc. I have a bipod and red dot sight on mine and it can shoot the nuts off of a gnat at 50ft. I'm planning on using darts soon. I have some broad head darts coming from China soon but they're taking ages to get my stuff here.
*So when that wood screw shears off does that 200g aluminum slingshot blind you in both eyes simultaneously or just knock your teeth out lol?* *Be careful, mate!*
I'm thinking " That gent is maybe an Ulsterman" and then I heard " Plenty of fine shavings for kindlin' " Best wishes from Portarlington County Laois. Keep up the good work.
That is a great job you've done making the catapult rifle & you are very accurate with the hand held one too, nice job all round. Thank you for posting.
New friends are here, ready to become your loyal followers, you are geniuses who can turn slingshots into extraordinary ones, greetings to friends from Indobesia 🙏🙏🙏🇮🇩🇮🇩
What's nice about this rifle is, if you are hunting and get close enough to your target, you can actually club your target to death with your slingshot.
I think the tube bands would be more economical for you (only the rifle of course) Yes we’d love to see a slingshot rifle build, I’m slowly building my own right now.
I'd agree on tubular bands probably being more suitable as due to the design it's liable to be cocked and locked for extended periods of time so would benefit from the added durability.
Very interesting set up I like it a lot... How long is the 2x4 and how far is the trigger from the fork? Where you get the rubber band? They look heavy duty thank you for the tutorial very well made Cheers!
That thing could fire much faster. Like 300-400+ fps. You should triple or do four or quad bands on each side, ... Use theraband gold.. or stay with the black but I'd put at least four bands on each side, and you'll shatter those targets..
Very interesting... I love shooting spring-piston airguns (rifles mainly), and have a couple of rifle stocks that I replaced with custom stocks. Just recently got into slingshots, although I have shot them occasionally over the years, since I was a kid back in the 1960s. My Dad was into archery, so I naturally got into it as well, and always loved shooting targets, no matter what the "weapon" was. I can shoot indoors and outdoors. Now I think I might have to try a "slingshot rifle" using one of my air rifle stocks that's just lying around... should be a great winter project ! I got out my old slingshot (not sure what it was, but had it for many years and it has a fixed wrist brace on it, and tubular bands. I live in a very wooded area, and get a lot of gray/black squirrels, and enjoy feeding them peanuts... I figure they are my "survival food" should the need arise. I started slingshotting peanuts out to them in the yard, and they love retrieving them, even after I hit them with a peanut... HAH ! So now I have another hobby... SLINGSHOTS ! Love your videos !
Absolutely fantastic. So simple.. Now to put a Lazer dot sight on too..! You have inspired me to make one. Now to order the trigger.. Cheers Famo59 👍🍻🤓⛏
To any one thinking of taking on this project make sure you get the stainless steel trigger mechanism, as there are cheaper versions that are made of zinc alloy or stale cheese or something that aren't much use.
This made me think that a collapsible version where 1 section goes into the other like the water a handle extends on a mini umbrella but obviously a more robust design for a extendable dart thrower, Someone has already probably made what I'm thinking about 😂
Where's a few places to get those trigger systems? They're pretty slick! Sorry, just saw it! Working at a gunsmithing shop on the side, I think I'll be making a couple of these to sell. Maybe with exotic wood stocks, checking/ carving and a few cuts for lightening underneath.
I want to see a proper rifle stock one with 1mm bands or proper heavy duty tubes firing 10 or 12mm leads with a scope attached i reckon you could make something really accurate and powerful that wont chew through bands so much with a little tweaking here and there
looks ace that buddy that would come in that 4x2 if caught the little gets who screwed my van the other night looking forward to you making some sniper catty rifles love it
Good stuff..and it can also double as a club if you have no ammo and some nasty chap is advancing. Have a rectractable/attachable spike/spear point on the front and you've got a deadly bit of wood! Sorry, got carried away. I've got a couple of those triggers and they seem to be fair quality. Haven't used one...yet. Good shooting by the way.
Great work sir, can u increase or more powerful in terms of more than 750 FPS out of those 8 or 9mm steel ball. Really waiting to see the advance slingshot rifle of thissir. Keep it up sir..

I love the simplicity and the accuracy. Would love to see you make a proper frame for it.

Sounds awesome mate
@@CatapultCarnage which slingshot gun (model) do you have exactly?
I was trying to make a other one but then i saw your simple video and works very good thank you!
So crude n simple yet practical, off to my shed to make use of that 2x4 sitting
There
Thank you for confirming how that trigger works - I was always just guessing. I've had my eye on it for a bit now. Cheers!
No worries buddy

@@1nvisible1 He is such a nice guy and has such a good channel, nothing could ever go wrong.
Thanks Chris, this video was nice different side of the slingshot world. With a ready-made trigger this seems like a awesome DIY project.
It is :)
Couple of questions bro.
1) what is reference point whil aiming.
2) does it require same height for fork top to anchor point on device?
Please mention the anchor point and the aiming point bro?
Such an awesome build brother! Great shooting! Thanks for sharing! 👊🙏

I saw your video and I went and made one - fantastic fun - thank you for making and putting this video out there :)

Cool!
Where did you get the trigger assembly?
Thanks for sharing,

Hi Lisa you can get these triggers at Amazon.
I got it on aliexpress
You can get them on Ali Express. I think they may even have them on Amazon.
Thank you, folks!

Crude but very effective..this is the kiind of stuff that can be made in an emergency. GREAT
It may be crude looking but it does exactly what you want!!!
Exactly 💪
Makes it cooler in a way. I'd like to see a bird or rabbit hunt with it.
This is some Braveheart shxt right here.
Very nice. These sligshot darts are amazing.
A you gi ve me your opinion on bands? Re flat better or stronger than round? What do you recommend and why? Thanks
Absolutely Love this video! Now I will have to build one myself! You made it look too easy! Thanks for sharing my friend!

That thing looks crazy fun. Lol What a fun build.
Also, hell yeah, would love to see a nicer catapult rifle build!
What's nice about this rifle is, if you are hunting and get close enough to your target, you can actually club your target to death with your slingshot.
The trigger system what do you call it and where do you order one
The catty rifle works well be nice to do a more up market one in the future!
I had made a slingshot rifle like your, but had a problem for aiming the target. Can you help me how do i aim the target as i dont have a scope.
I love this it’s like you where raised I. Mad max.
This is the simple slingshot rifle i ever see.
I subconsciously smiled while watching the video ... :)
Me too. But were you conscious that it was subconscious? Me too. (And I know exactly what you mean).
How well would this work for small game?
I like your videos man keep up the good work man
Excellent video chris would love to see a proper slingshot rifle build 👍🏻
watch the slingshot channel then.. jörg sprave is who you are looking for!
That trigger is brilliant. The bands make me cringe, I can feel them coming for my aiming eye.
I like it haha! I have one of those triggers but have never gotten around to trying to build one.
I think the tube bands would be more economical for you (only the rifle of course)

Ireland? Scotland? Beautiful countryside!
These things (slings etc) are just in our blood aren’t they?!
Slainte!
Can this be scaled up for apocalypse use?
Where can you purchase the trigger mechanism?
Great video. What's the drawlength?
My one as a kid was a little less refined and involved a clothes peg, dried peas and knicker elastic 😁
Lol
and where to buy the trigger mechinizem?

How much do those darts weigh?
Really cool, I can see how you could have more power and more accurate at a greater distance.
The issue I have is where do I get the trigger mechanism?
They may take our slingshots, but they will never take our slingshot RIFLES!
Very interesting... I love shooting spring-piston airguns (rifles mainly), and have a couple of rifle stocks that I replaced with custom stocks.

Why not fit a handle begind trigger?
Can you explain trigger mechanism

Prob as good as a garden gun an more fun by the looks of it. Be nice to see a fancy one 👍
Enjoy seeing this i cant use a catapult any more iv got tendinitis. But i could use one like this
It might look primitive, but it REALLY works. At that speed, any potential attacker is gonna run!
This made me think that a collapsible version where 1 section goes into the other like the water a handle extends on a mini umbrella but obviously a more robust design for a extendable dart thrower,

good work...but yes those bands generally snap..I would have been wearing a football helmet, eye goggles, and 3 goose down jackets shooting that thing

You'd make a great one with your starship template Nick but You'd probably need 36mm thickness

Loved this video !! What’s the trigger/release mechanism called/ware can I buy one ?

Great video talk about Adrian dangerous 😂....... Do you rate that bandsaw Chris I ask because I've got one
Where can we buy the trigger
ebay and amazon.
LOL, quality, perfect for the zombie apocalypse.
You can shoot arrows with that, using no further modification!
Thanks for a great video never thaught I'd see you try a slingshot rifle it's a brilliant concept those darts are scary things

not the first like but got you to 1k :D
Model the ''stock'' with the shape of a rifle stock, so you can rest it on your shoulder, it would be much more accurate

do you sell the solid frame titans like that?
