For camping and hiking you would be better of with one of thise 4 models: Camper, Hiker, Huntsman or Fielsmaster. The Compact is more for the average orffice worker than the outdors. Also you should never baton a folding knife the pivot won't last long.
Yes agreed, this setup is really only for emergency only so would only baton in need. I did seriously consider the Huntsman but prefer the slimmer, lighter two channel knife. It’s so difficult to get the best option, there’s always something missing or something you don’t want 🤔
I have a knife very much like that one, same size. I carried it with me for several months while backpacking around the Pacific Islands. Still use it, perfect size. Like the modifications, especially the fire starter. I’ll have to get that for my trip to Tamarack Lakes this summer. Good to ‘see you’ again.
I enjoyed this thoroughly. I bought a pack of those firefly ferro rods a while ago and I love them. Personally though I wouldn't have both keyrings on the knife at the sime time. Hope your foot heals fast!
Are you following anyone on the PCT this year. I’m following ‘Hiking with the codgers’. A couple of 60ish year olds. They are in day 43 now and have reached hikertown. Nice and gentle. Haven’t found any Brits yet.
I’m not following anyone at the mo, I will soon though. I’ll give the Codgers a look, I think I have seen a couple of their vids. It’ll be a interesting year??

So great to hear and see you again Sparkle Lizard! Love the mods you made to the knife, lots to think about. Keep the vids coming!
Thanks Jackie! I’m really missing making hiking vids. Hopefully soon…. ✨🦎✨
Good video and informative. Learn something new everyday!
Thanks Daniel. You can really disappear down the Rabbit hole with Swiss Army Knives 😂
