Thanks for this reaction. I love Ken/Felip, and Kanako is for sure at the top of my PL. He is so talented, humble and good looking too. Met him in person and chatted with him for a few seconds at some of the meet and greet in their US concerts, he is so nice, appreciate and love his fans, he’s genuine, true to hinself. I feel like I’m a proud mom 😂
Yes in an interview he said this song kanako is dedicated to his fans family esp.to GOD!!! Felip is a great he is not party goer he dont even drink and smoke! He always stays at home make music that he wanted to have many songs for his fans ❤❤❤❤very dedicated and appreciative down to earth person!!!
Introverts and true artists are the most misunderstood and judged. I come from a family of both. So it's a sad fact that a lot of the hating fans do not understand. Artists need to express their creative minds in the best way they know how. They can never be dictated. Felip says he can express his thoughts & feelings thru his passion, which is music. It is the reason why i stan Felip the most. And i know that Pablo is the member who understands him the most too coz they are similar in so many ways.
It's so hard to have an introverted personality and an innate shyness to mingle with people you don't know that's why Ken was so misunderstood during their early days. Even some of the members comment on this but they have accepted Ken for what and who he is. Stell really made it a point to include Ken and look after him that's why among the 5 of them, Ken and Stell are the closest.
This song really hits your heartstrings. Ken said he composed it for himself, for his family, for his fans and for God whom he is eternally grateful.
Ken is my bias for a million reasons. Kanako just seals it.
I love all of Felip's songs bec they're my brand of music. But Kanako is my new favorite ❤

Thank you for appreciating this heartfelt song 😊 This was dropped at 12 midnight without any warnings or whatsoever. The following day, he released the mv. The fandom was shocked and bawled.
To the fandom, FELIP is known as the introvert, doesn't speak much, doesn't post often on social media, and doesn't do a lot of fan service. But boy! Look how appreciative he is to everyone who has shown him love.
Also, one of the amazing things about FELIP is that he doesn't box himself in a certain genre or style. He keeps pushing the boundary of what he can do, and we are not complaining. He has given us hints that he has been preparing a lot of songs so we are looking forward for another EP or album in January 😁

When i saw KANAKO MV, i was having my dinner that time. But the moment i saw those clips of FELIP events that i went to, i started crying so hard and never finished my dinner anymore. As a FELIP stan, i couldn't help but cry for him. In spite of being heavily judged by those people inside the fandom, he still took time to write a song for them. I know i stan the right man, the right artist. He's got such a genuine soft heart. Shame on u bashers!!

I am a New fan of SB19. Discovered them last Oct., 2023. Please, let’s stop negativity. I think the bashing of Ken came because He came out with Bulan and most probably his Complex EP which could not be palatable to all. Then Bulan had been questioned that it was copied which had been properly addressed and debunked by his Team thus, He was invited in the Grammys Global Spin.
I am looking at all that happened now as was probably due to the immaturity of some fans and probably casuals too. Let’s please admit that not all songs would connect and acceptable to all. The negatives would bash and make an issue of it. Then of course those who love Ken/Felip would retaliate. Then it became tit for tat.
Let’ S not discount also the feelings of the F/K stan who felt he was not Full supported by the fandom those trying times, maybe they encountered A’tin or people pretending to be A’tin that put down Ken/Felip. I just hope that those feelings are now gone and every one learned, for give, and be grateful that all ended well. Felip/Ken I am sure has forgiven them and move on to better things. He cannot create this Beautiful Song, if his heart is still full of anger, bitterness, disappointment, and hatred. His fans should take it from him. He seemed to be really a good-hearted person. He and his brothers In SB19 will be disappointed if they will know that their fans are fighting.
How about be respectful of the opinions and feelings of others. We cannot keep on fighting anybody inside and outside of the A’tin. It will be chaotic, toxic, and unhealthy for the Boys and us.
Let’s be matured enough to just be quiet and respect the choices of the Boys and fellow fans. Learn how to ignore the negas and straydogs. The fandom will not grow with all these shenanigans. Many will be turned off. Just remind ourselves to be patient and ignore the toxic comments and opinions of others. As for incorrect info being given by someone, do
correct them politely, no sense in to disparaging others. Opinions and feelings of anyone we don’t agree with, respect them and let them be.

He wrote this during that dark stage of SB19's career when they were not allowed to use that name for a month due to a trademark issue with their former label company. Us A'tin showed them so much support that we are even ready for a name change. Glad that one's resolved and they survived that uncertain time. Ken, the most introverted member, went out of his way to cheer the other members during live performances but deep inside he was hurting judging with his deleted IG posts and this song.
The song, Kanako is actually Felip's tribute & gratitude to God, his parents, sister & family, to his Sisiws & Siwperiors as well as ATIN & to his various other friend & supporters who were there for him when he needed them the most, who never forsake him in good times & in bad, who stuck with him come hell or high waters, even if heavens fall. Especially to those who stood for him against the tirades, bashing & attacks by his haters & bashers with the intent on pulling him down. But contrary to their intent & purposes, with the help of God & Ken's followers & his own desires & belief in himself including his talent & skills, Ken is able to convert them as energizer & fuel to keep him going. In fact, such tirades & challenges made Ken or Felip roar ouder & soar higher. In view of that, bravo & kudos, Ken.

The more they bashed Felip, the more we love and support him! They just don't understand him being introvert! But introvert people are usually very talented and kind hearted! You do realize that this was not even in Tagalog but in Bisaya, Ken's native tongue, don't you? That's why this made it doubly special for Bisaya-speaking fans of Ken. The lyrics are just haunting and the melody so soothing.

Thank you for your reactions to SB19 and your comment on how genuine they are. There was one reactor reacting to SB19 on the Wish USA when during the instramental portion of Liham, Stell and Justin were waving to the fans outside and the reactor said it was just for show/fan service and not genuine. Although everyone is entitled to their own opinions, wish people would know more about their background stories before thinking that way. Through their actions/songs they write, we know how much they treasure their fans and have always thanked A'tin for all they've accomplished and for all our support.

As a bisaya filipino speaking the language Ken uses (which he used in this song too), it hits a lot😭 a lot. It's so warm and comforting as if i'm talking to a friend face to face.

Felip does not take qualms in putting his music forward, however it “may not be for everyone,” as he put it. It is risqué already to come up with songs of whose beats are not pretty mainstream; it is a derring-do to have their lyrics in Bisaya, a language that a number Filipinos themselves do not understand (Palayo and Kanako), but make big hits of them nonetheless. That already says a lot about Ken/Felip. ❤

Even Josh of GidKidDad who spoke with the boys in Dallas said so and added he has the most potential to make it to the West as solo if he wants to because his song compositions and style are West-sounding. Come to think of it, it was largely because of Ken that GidKidDad got drawn to PPOP when they heard him sing his parts in some SB19 songs, labelling it “sewer pop” because of the gravelly deep voice, and pretty soon they came to love SB19 in general, enough to inspire them to migrate to the Philippines and help put out PPop talents under their GKD label.
