Nice catch! Cool to see ya catching a UP train! Your right, I definitely see more CPKC and CN trains than UP. Though than again, it's not like I'm at their Milwaukee sub every day lol. That K5LLA was also loud and nice!
Thanks! The UP around here is very slow. Your guaranteed one EB, and one WB. There's always a few coal extras weekly, coke trains occasionally, and ethanol a few times a month. CP you get 8 freights daily, plus the 2 Empire's, and however many Borealis trains there are.
Nice catch, love that SD70ACe leader in the new scheme. I live in Kansas City and have gotten only 2 or 3 leading. If you want to catch more UP and not go to Chicagoland, come here, we have plenty.
Thanks. I'm not a fan of Chicago itself, but Rochelle, IL is where I go. I start in Rochelle, follow the UP as far as DeKalb, IL, them go south and follow the BNSF back to Rochelle. Last time I caught 8 UP's, and 5 BNSF's.
Awesome horn! I live right near this crossing, and often enjoy filming the trains that come through here. I've been curious about freight trains lately, and I was just womdering, what does MCHAL stand for?
MCHAL is this trains symbol, and broken down it's M=Manifest, CH=Chicago (train origin), AL=Altoona Yard (destination). The other daily freight train on this line is MALG3, M=Manifest, AL=Altoona, and G3= Global Yard 3 (the yard that train goes to). I'm hope that helps / makes sense.
Nice, that K5LLA was loud
