On Sunday, a case was filed against Harish Poonja for allegedly trying to pressure the police into releasing a BJP worker who had been arrested for illegal mining.
According to police, the incident occurred on Saturday night when Poonja and his supporters stormed the Belthangadi police station, demanding the release of the illegal mining suspect.
Police said they raided a stone quarry in Melantabettu village after receiving a tip-off about illegal mining. They seized several items, including a Hitachi machine, a tractor, four live ammunition rounds, and four empty rounds
