When I recorded the riddim with Sly & Robbie during a session to produce Horace Andy's "Livin it Up" album in January of 2006, I instantly fell in love with that riddim. Horace recorded a scorching tune called "I'm Alive". I then called Gregory Isaacs, who dropped the humongous "Poor Man In Love", which I asked Godwin Logie to mix, but that I released only in 2014 or so. I played the riddim to Bunny Rugs in 2008 or so and he loved it too. Because he was a good friend of Gregory's, he thought of doing over one of Gregory's songs and came up with "Rumours", which I thought was a great idea. Godwin Logie mixed the song. Then Bitty McLean suggested I use a loop of a sample of Sly & Robbie's "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner" riddim. He was kind enough to do the mix for me. Great memories
GB fantastic history here! Your contributions to modern roots are tremendous. Always come with quality music with top level production. I fulljoy all of it! For all reggae/dub fans be sure to check Sly and Robbie's 'Dubrising' album which features GB/TABOU1 productions dubbed out by Groucho. One of the best modern dub albums released in the 2K era
