Hi team! 💜 Feels so odd to be starting a new journal when I swear I JUST set up my last one 😝 If you wanted to see how that last (Travelers size) notebook got set up, that video can be found at ua-cam.com/video/YyppWbjl2XU/v-deo.html 💪
So glad you started doing content for the square journal. I know I can do the maths🤮 and make different spreads fit. But it's just nice to see them in the square journal. I love your channel!! It has become such a good resource of bujo info for me. I have gone back and rewatched some episodes many times for inspiration. Keep up the good work!!!!
Love your new journal setup with the lovely washi tapes! I am so jealous of how you get your lines so straight, mine turns out either crooked or too thick lol
It's certainly been an on-going practice for me! Often my lines are still wobbly, but that's why I use the lightest colours I can for them so they don't stand out too much 💪💜
For your future pockets, I would recommend wet glue over tape, because glue tape doesn’t dry and things you stick in the pocket might catch on the tape. Though, on the other hand, I know wet glue can be a bit of a nightmare, because even a tiny bit too much warps the page. I guess I like a challenge 🙈
YOU HAVE A GRID SPACING CALCULATOR SPREADSHEET!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😳🥳 I didn’t think I could possibly love your systems more and then you go and show off that. 😱🤯❤️
Oh yaaay! Was hoping you’d post this as I couldn’t watch the live! Soooooo happy 🎉❤ A self care idea: girls night in! Basically a pyjama party/sleepover with ice cream, cocktails, girlie movie marathon, dancing and lots of laughs. Nothing restores the soul like some solid girl time!
Hi Jess! I find a pedicure for a self help is a big one for helping me. I always put it off or worry about the$. Same about haircut. Feeling good about yourself is gold.
Im so excited to see you try the square! The square is my absolute favorite and Im super excited to see your spreads to see what I may want to try :) Nobody uses squares so its hard to think of new layouts I havent already done! Im thrilled~
In my current bujo, I’ve used something like a 6 month calendex for my tracker as a leading section with colour coded dots for only done stuff. This also substitutes the productivity chart which I didn’t have room for until next year. 29:22 this will be handy (which I purchased) for my ‘love latte’ set of every size.
So many great, functional ideas! I'm tempted trying the calendex in my next journal and already can't wait to start it, even though it's still 4 to 5 months to wait 😅
I’m making my bullet journal into a recipe book so I’m definitely going to try the box layouts you use for reference! My recipe pages look different from a lot of your spreads but I’m trying to incorporate more symmetry into it like yours! You helped me find passion and push my creativity!
@@JashiiCorrin yes! I’m doing two bullet journals, one for sweet dishes and one for savory dishes to help organize the flavors! I got into bullet journaling a week ago and was tempted to buy a load of stationery but I saw your basics to journaling so I just bought a good pen and two bullet journals!
I've been using self care bingos monthly for over a year now, but for me it's because I was/am in grad school and I was neglecting myself. I find I work the best when doing a combination of actual indulgent, self care activities (including scheduling one full day of rest a week), habits/physical health, and things for school/around the house I don't want to do but need to get done and I know I will mentally feel better about after it actually happens.
100% 👏 I want to avoid having the self-care tasks just be the "aesthetic" self-care ideas (I hope that makes sense, you know, the bubble-bath-facial-mask-cucumbers-on-the-eyes type deal) 💜
My, I fell out of using my planner and watching my favorite content creators…. I’ve also felt quite lost of late. Linkage perhaps? 🤔. I do believe so. The color palette you selected is absolutely lovely. 🥰
You have inspired an idea on how to use my own square journals. I have the blackout journal from one of the quarterly boxes, and I think that will be my reading journal for 2024. I mean, it won't last super long, because I read a crapton of books, BUT I love the idea. Then I can move into the pink-tinted pages journal I have for the rest of the year (hopefully). I also have the mauve/dusty pink baking one that I got on sale, and I think I'm going to have to use it for my 2024 trackers!!
Gorgeous set up Jess, am hoping that A&O will release a square one for Halloween this year as I really fancy a square for my reading journal next year.
Self care: tiny things like scented lotion or a candle when you have to do crappy chores you hate (email inbox!) or spending an extra minute to make a delicious cocktail/mocktail when relaxing to watch Netflix. I like the square journal but the A5 is my favorite. It’s great to see how you’re setting this journal up, a square journal might be a nice change. Do you ever use a “when did I last” page? If so, how do you set it up? I want to use one but can’t find a set up that inspires me.
A5 is my favourite too 😄💜 I did one once, but I never found myself checking in with it 😝 it was just a simple list, with initials for the months of the year along the top-right of the layout

Beautiful and wonderful video! I went to click your Washi tape link but for me it doesn't seem to work! Thank you for the other links you have though, I clicked them all to get started on my own journal journey!
I tried a simplified "23 23's in 2023" based off your videos, and it was so much fun! Hard to say as I've really just gotten into using the square, but I did find the B5 kind of overwhelming in terms of how I like to plan usually. The square feels like a nice in-betweener size for the A5 vs B5 🤔
As a pumpkin spice connoisseur, PLEASE don't just go with StarB's. I recommend a Jamba Juice PSL smoothie, or a "pumpkin CHAI spice" beverage if you spot any of those.

Got a question for all of you: I'd looove to use one of these cute journals by these nice brands, BUT! They all don't have enough pages. A lot of people use 2 journals per year but you know, I like my whole year to fit into one book (period/reading/other trackers at 1 glance without having to repeat everything). Also I invest so much time in these spreads you use throughout the whole year that it would make me so so sad to have to say goodbye to my spreads after only 6 months and then redoing them cause the journals only have between 160 and 192 pages. Anyone has a recommendation on brands that sell CUTE journals with 228 (toootal minimum, still not enough tbh) to 300 pages other than the basic Leuchtturm? 😢
We're slowly building a notebook database as a community if that helps 😊 There aren't currently a lot of ones over 200 pages on the list, but it's a starting point: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zNT8Kq0vkl_-P0k5T4fxMnv4aoV4oKX5eCcNweFrUAI/edit?usp=sharing Hope it helps! 💜
After watching way too many set-ups, I've come to the conclusion (for me) bullet journaling and plain everyday journaling isn't serving me any purpose. I have absolutely no artistic ability or artistic vision. My day never changes from day to day. All the money I've spent on journals and pens and stencils and washi tape and all the "other" needs was a complete waste of time and money. Good luck and best wishes to all the successful journalists.
I've done this too, please don't feel bad about yourself, it's very easy to be swept up in these things, I certainly was. Remember that pen and paper are, in essence, pen and paper. You can reuse some of those pens for everyday use and use the journals as general paper to scribble stuff down in. Washi tape is effectively masking tape and can be used if you want to mark something off, or just to stick stuff like any other tape. For me, finding a use for the stuff I'd bought stopped me thinking too much about wasting money, because the things were ultimately getting used.
I also am unable to do daily journaling, but I do really like planners and to be able to write down appointments and events etc.. I have been on and off with the bullet journal, but I think the thing I noticed the most is how I don't do daily jounrnaling, don't have time/motivation to make the weekly spread each week, and rarely use monthly spreads. I need pre-made weekly spreads, and basically only that. So this year I basically made a fancy planner, with monthly intro pages that are mostly empty except the months name and moon phases, and a spread for each week in a simple grid with 8 spaces. It's more fun than buying a pre-made planner, and gives me more flexibility to add other things, like habit trackers and a page for my goals this year etc. I was only able to fit 6 months, so looking to make another one for the next half of the year. I also have a few free pages that I can use if I come up with something, if not I can just decorate it with random washitape or other things. Even if I don't write things every day, I find it useful to have a place already now to plan all the small and big events that are going to happen on days in March and May in more detail, without having to "wait" like you do with normal bujo with future log etc.
There are a number of videos on here showing different types of journals the uses etc that ain't everyday calander planning kinda journalling also a quick search on UA-cam for minimalist beginners bujo journalling will have plenty of realistic ideas all the best

True, but there are no rules by bullet journal. Some people have not enough time to make "a beautiful/pretty" bujo. Other people don't. Some are creative, others don't. Me? I have an agenda. And a bujo. I put everything in my Agenda, appointment and everything. But when the day is over, I work it out, in my bujo. Like my habits that day, what went wrong, everything what some people made it before the actual day. So I keep my bujo beautiful, no stripes, no typ-exx, no corrections, no pages has been torned out, of my bujo. REMEMBER everyone have his/her own meaning of bujo's, there are no rules. Yes, at first I thought the were rules. I had the same mind like this best man, I made it, like thus man, my own, and the tips he is giving, yes I do something with those tips, while I think myself, is useful. If it's not for your bujo? Than don't use it. Thank you for your blog, brother, is was useful, and what I wrote here, is my meaning of own a bujo. I do not say, you are wrong. Keep up the good work, I following you. Have a good one, cheers
Mainly because I’d usually just throw them away but I thought it might be nice to collect them in this “Washi graveyard” to see how many there were come the end of the journal 😝💜
I don’t know if you were meaning this comment to be rude, but it doesn’t come off particularly polite 😅 this is just the way I learnt to hold my pens though 🤙 it’s what I’m used to and it comfortable for me.

Why are you pasting little bits of washi tape in the back? Curious, never seen that before
Mainly because I’d usually just throw them away but I thought it might be nice to collect them in this “Washi graveyard” to see how many there were come the end of the journal 😝💜
@@JashiiCorrin pretty cool idea, thanks for responding
face mask is a classic activity. also i suggest herbal tea, make yourself a meal from scratch and footbath
Great ideas! 😄💜 Thanks!
why do you hold the pen so weird...
I don’t know if you were meaning this comment to be rude, but it doesn’t come off particularly polite 😅 this is just the way I learnt to hold my pens though 🤙 it’s what I’m used to and it comfortable for me.
