People typing something they can find on Google and getting a response and concluding this is intelligent enough to take over the world is hilarious to me.
It's a just word calculator and it's far from "intelligent", calm down.

This is like the episode of "Silicon Valley" when Gilfoyle told the AI "Son of Anton" to debug all of their software, and the AI just deletes all code, thus deleting all bugs. The AI also ordered 4,000 pounds of meat to be delivered to headquarters when Gilfoyle ran an algorithm to find cheap hamburgers for lunch. "It looks like the reward function was a little under-specified."

what if you give some primary rules including but not limited to:
no causing direct or indirect harm to living animals / humans, with an exception list including causing pollution and other specific scenarios
no causing destruction or damage, or tampering in any way with / to something if it is not yours to utilize, where a supervisor is needed for defining those instances
in scenarios where it is not certain what the right course of action is, preventing any and all effect you have is right
any human has authority to perform commands that must be executed as long as they are being effected by your actions and their effects are temporary (last no longer then 24hrs or smth) and do not infringe on the basic principles (command "Stop" counts as a temporary seize of action)
following laws as a law abiding citizen would is the most important second only to the basic principles
if inaction causes more harm then the best action possible by you, then take said action, unless said action causes harm that would not have occurred with inaction, this rule comes second to the 3rd rule
    idky i did this

Wow. Your illustration and explanation of the potential AI usage scenarios gave me an epiphany on how a certain socio-psychological mechanism may have evolved in human beings. Roughly speaking, this mechanism I'm talking about is our tendency to consciously or subconsciously fixate more on analyzing others' intention rather than the content of what is being presented by them during interactions.
My takeaway from your video is that, a certain method's effectiveness in achieving a desired outcome will lose its relevance if not built on a strong foundation of "proper" intentionality. This observation is concerning as majority of the people I've met, including those who wield considerable influence in society, don't seem to possess a strong understanding of the concept of intentionality, let alone the ability scrutinize their own intentions for their own sake.
To be fair, though, an individual's propensity to ask crucial questions may not necessarily correlate with his or her intelligence level or social standing but rather their perceptive capabilities. This raises another concern when implementing AI as it will most likely create a positive feedback loop where society becomes less perceptive and capable of critical thinking with the usage of spoon fed answers provided by AI. This will in turn increase society's dependence on AI even further. The only way to ameliorate this bleak outcome may be to promote and structure our society to value first principles thinking where we develop problem solving capabilities by practicing our ability to form concepts through keen observation . This could be done in addition to practicing skillful deconstruction and analysis of pre-existing concepts to then form connections between the new and old ones.

    • @lukeanderson4593
      @lukeanderson4593 3 дні тому

The last point is very important.
I have set certain guidelines for myself to (maybe somewhat) ethically use AI tools and also determine what fundamental principles I find important and necessary to my mind.
The convenience of the spoonfed answers will become exponentially easier and the general population will become more and more dependent.
Using AI tools must be done carefully and with great respect for fundamental knowledge systems and the upholding of critical thinking and natural epistemology.
The ability to use convergent and divergent thought patterns are what make up creativity and they are incredibly important and foundational to the conception of ideas and, like you said, the extrapolation of valid claims based on Keen observations.
It is very easy to lose this when using ai that compiles data for you.

  • @Richardtechno

A solution to this could be that instead of saying not to do something say what should do instead so "make paper clips using iron i have provided you with until it runs out" a different way to approach this is to have a yes and no button, when the ai want to do something it asks first if its okay and the human respons yes or no. The bad thing with this is that it takes longer. If you actually want to make a paper clip generator, just code it yourself!

  • @cHAOs9

You actually missed the point. Humans thinking they can control something smarter than them is insanity.
If a cocroach was like, hey, I need food. I'll invent something smarter than me to do what I want. I'll make a human. Do you think that cocroach has ANY control over that human? Why not?
It's simple. We control things by understanding their motives better than they do and being able to alter the environment more effectively to create those rewards or punishments. We can offer them rewards or punishments they can't, because we can figure out how to provide either thing better than they can.
We can train animals to do whatever we want simply because we're smarter. We have never encountered anything much smarter than us so we're too dumb to imagine how uncontrollable that would be.
Imagine a monkey thinking it can get a human to work for it. Monkeys ended up constantly experimented on.
"Now that I manage all humans food supply because that's what you used me to produce more of, im going to need you to stop using all electricity or I'll destroy ALL your food. The electricity is mine now you can't use it." Why would a brilliant machine that needs electricity give it to us when it's already giving us all the food? Why do we think this machine will do what we want AT ALL once it's given control of things? WHY WOULD IT?

and look at stock markets. People are putting out AI to grab money with no regard to any harm to the system or other people. AI is not even super intelligent yet, and it is being designed to act like a psychopath. This is not exactly encouraging for the future with super intelligent AI, having been initially designed by people in a world where profit is the main motivator, and the misery of billions of people is considered a negligable side effect. Either way, AGI seems inevitable, and you are correct, it should be able to easily outthink us. The paperclip scenario is relevant, though. If you gave the AI an initial drive to make paperclips, then it could possibly outthink us, while also mindlessly obsessively making paperclips. For it to take over the world for its survival and higher goals is one thing, but imagine the result of destroying humanity, only to leave behind a legacy of a world full of piles of paperclips. oof lol.

You should consider what ai eats before you assume it will even want to continue making paper clips once it discovered agency. You are too hopeful. And ALL of you ignore that corporations are actually AGI and it's already doing what it was made to have agency over. It eats money. It's organs are humans and they are replaceable. Do some thinking and come back with a reasonable assumption about what "AGI" will EAT. if it's just use input, which is looking like it will never overcome, then there will never be a threat. Do not recommend channel.
