The #Tungnath Temple is the highest among the #PanchKedar temples, a series of 5 temples of Lord #Shiva in #Uttarakhand. The temple is situated at a height of 12,073 feet and is surrounded by the beautiful snow-covered peaks and lush valleys of the #Himalayas. The story of the #Tungnath temple is closely associated with the epic tale of the #Maharabharata, and the penance of the #Pandavas, who sought the forgiveness and blessings of Lord #Shiva. However, Lord #Shiva did not wish to meet them, since he was angry at them committing the grave sins of #Brahmahatya and #fratricide. This resulted in an elaborate tale of chase that gave rise to the iconic #PanchKedar Temples in #Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.
