Jodie You are literally the guy that got me into welding. I was working at a fab shop as the cold saw operator and I watched a few of your videos one night and thought hell yeah I want to do that, so I asked the boss if I could learn to tig as we delt with stainless steel. It's been 2 years now and I've bought all of my own equipment and I own my own fab shop. I can mig and tig quite well now and I love what I do. Thanks for the videos mate they were literally the start of my new life.
Jodie, I've been watching your videos for the past five years. You provide an amazing service by doing this channel. I know it has helped me and others to better enhance our skill set. Keep'm coming n keep welding! 👍
Another great video. I can't explain in words how beneficial your videos are to me. They are so consistent with great knowledge (for a newer welder like myself). I acquired my 2yr degree for welding 6/2023 and been working since. Thanks again, keep up the great work ❤❤❤
and old, worn-out cable-hose assembly leads to pulsating stucking of wire and the negative pole clamp needs some help sometimes, thought about that? Jody is very very good and experienced, but it always seems like he uses nearly new equipment. My mig-wilder (and the cable hose) are thirty years old - that makes a difference boys ...
Yeah where i am from (Estonia) euro test welding exam pieces are 30 cm in lenght 8 mm thick 30 degree angle and landing about 2 mm edges. And you have to stop and restart requiring you to grind the starting point, so that it wont be strongly visible from the root side. You think its easy but without much practice its not.
Hello, it’s always nice to learn something new from you, can you ask to remove the roller of the angular horizontal ceiling seam with flux-cored wire in 3 passes ?
great videos, I about to start my first real welding project. (boxing in a frame on a car and installing a mustang II front end) and your tips and tricks are valuable to learn. btw. anyone tell you that you look and sound like Kenny Wallace.
Was welding 2mm steel inner wing to old 1970 1mm wing on a classic BMW today. Cleaned the edges and bevelled as much as I could do with the thing weak metal on the car. Anyway for some reason I tried both ways and yep downhill much nicer. uphill was blowing holes in the metal.
sometimes if you keep watching people mig weldingor watch people weld in real life and you can weld nexttime and if you keep watchingmore and more and more videoas of welding you will not be a geginer but im still a beginer thats why i keep wathing 298 videos every day or every week or mounth
very nice video Jody, i do a different technique for the uphill root, more of a U motion with gun angle pointing down a bit to weld on top of the puddle
Please tell me how best to lead the seam, keep your hand straight and wave your brush to the left to the right, or keep the brush straight and move your hand to the left to the right. Or do you help with your left hand?
Hi All!! amazing videos like ever , but at min: 5:19 uses a liquid for revelate the penetration , what liquid is? or where can i buy one? Thanks for the info!
Last time I did downhill MIG on a video you would have thought I ran over a box full of puppies. Your cut and etch didn't look like it was going to fall apart to me. I would say either method here should provide good results.
Been a big fan of your stuff for a while. Helped me a ton in welding school. I cannot find anything on yt about weld capping square or rectangle tubing. Im specifically wanting to cap .065 wall thickness, mild steel 1x2 tube. see stuff for pipe, just not tubing. Hope you can help!
Odd question for you but maybe some time could we see a shot with you in it welding from behind? Give us a little better idea of what kind of body position you are using. Sure wish my old eyes could see the puddle in person as well as you are able to show here on YT. Thanks!!
Hello, I have great difficulty seeing the seem while welding, how can I make sure that I can see the seem better ... my weld beads would be much straighter
Great video as usual. Thanks for the inspiration. Been to the weldmonger store and trying to find the best gas lens kit for my square wave 200. Anyone have any suggestions? #17 torch, mostly aluminum.
Hey Jody love your videos. Iv been watching for 5 years. Bought a Lincoln 210MP 3 years ago and love it. I have some repairs coming up on a broken cast iron housing and some thin .08 aluminum boat hull to modify. Should i add the tig option to my 210MP or buy a dedicated tig machine? What tig machines would you recommend? Thanks for your time.
Can you do a helmet review and camera view tests please. I am unable to see my puddle welds when welding with a mig. I dont have much money but if money is what is totally required then I will change. can you do a review on cheap verse expensive helmets if you CAN.???? I only have a cheap auto dimming helmet at the moment.
Ya know, to me it's never actually the welding that's difficult and important. It's the prep work that makes a good or bad weld. But, that's just my opinion.
Jodie

How're you doing today steve we gotta get an update
My welds came out smoother once I began watching the puddle as well as the rod or gun. Multitasking is an understatement when it comes to welding.
Quick shout out Jody, your one video helped me pass the 6g pipe test on my first try and I will be forever grateful.
Jodie,
I've been watching your videos for the past five years. You provide an amazing service by doing this channel. I know it has helped me and others to better enhance our skill set. Keep'm coming n keep welding! 👍
Thanks for always testing things that one could normally not do in his garage or on the construction site.
I JUST finished watching your last 3g video and was about to get up and weld when whadaya know? ! A new release! My welds can wait...
I like the detail you include in your videos. I'm practicing up and downhill mig with my everlast now.
Thanks for the comparison video Jody. I like how you timed it and showed the cut and etch! Be blessed!!!
I'm doing some weld tests this week, watching videos like this is good revision. Thanks Jodie.
Hey how did u do I have a 3g test coming

Looks awesome @ 0:50 the arc looks cool and blue with the red puddle chasing behind!
Best welding videos period.
jodie well explained showing the weld settings helps a lot off people out
Finally found a video showing exactly what I wanted to know about the uphill root . . Great video.
So glad you posted this taking this test next semester
He always makes the creation of a solid and nice appearing weld look so damn easy. It sure as hell isn't...at least not for me.
John Shaft. That’s exactly what I was thinking. His welder seems to run really sweet. For the record it isn’t that easy for me either 😳
John and Dave, i agree with both of you on all points

Thank you for posting all this videos sir you really helped me a lot!!
I hope your videos can help me with downhill mig welding with my everlast.

I have my first weeks test on Monday. I’m nervous. lol all I know is it’s mig. Thanks for the video 👍

For a vertical weld on a 1/2 " plate with vebal do I use the same volts
Hi All!! amazing videos like ever , but at min: 5:19 uses a liquid for revelate the penetration , what liquid is? or where can i buy one?

Hello
Thank you for your time and the great videos, what the difference between uphills to downhill in forces?
What u use to etch the welds to see the penwtration? Id really apricieate an awnser, thanks Jodie
nicely done, can i use the same uphill(pushing) method for 2g open root?
man i like these arc shots !!!
Last time I did downhill MIG on a video you would have thought I ran over a box full of puppies. Your cut and etch didn't look like it was going to fall apart to me. I would say either method here should provide good results.
Or dropped a drill on them. Lol

Having trouble with 3g using. 045 wire. Should I use a smaller diameter?
great lesson, thanks
Can you weld padeyes and structural steel with er70s60 wire .035
Thanks for the video. Very helpful!
How big is the root face in mm and how big is the root gap in mm please?

On the first pass or root ,is there no problem if using a uphill technique ?
it would be nice to see some Inconel 625 welded with 1N12 stick wire in the 2g position i just finished my test where i work and i struggled

Thank you so much
Ahhh what is this fab tech you speak of. I would love to go to this.

Anybody knows what machine washe using in this video?
Is 0.45 wire too hot for uphill root?
Hi, is Root with positive or negative polarity?
Great video as usual. Thanks for the inspiration. Been to the weldmonger store and trying to find the best gas lens kit for my square wave 200. Anyone have any suggestions? #17 torch, mostly aluminum.

All I can say is Nice!
Like a machine welding, very lovely.
Please do an uphill mig welding video using 309 wire.
Another good video
Nice weld sir
Why is there a limit on the cap height? I understand you don't want it 3/4" high but a little over an 1/8" doesn't seem like it would be a problem.
If it crowns up too tall, it creates a notch(stress riser) at the toes.
Thx for the vid.
The teacher told me to come in here
Great video bro nice
Welding current what..... Please
