i did mad moose's moab triple crown, so 3 50ks over the winter. like you, my last one had an out and back while i was suffering and it was a little tough. Next up Standhope 100 late July.
I am not much of a runner, let alone an ultra runner... but for some reason I can not get enough of this sport. Thanks for what you have done for this sport!
I can totally relate to not liking folx behind me especially in the first part of the race. I like to go inward and the pressure of someone behind me can be overwhelming.
Just want to say "Thanks Billy". I will be running my first ever Ultramarathon in a few weeks in Germany, a 75K called "Rennsteiglauf". I got into running a few years ago and somehow stumbled across your channel. Since then I always had the goal of running this race as it is near my childhood home. You have always been a real motivation for me and running changed my life completely. So many thanks for that! I also am happy that you, as my favourite UA-camr, put out videos on a more regularly basis lately. 🙂
Way to grind out a finish, Billy. I recently DNF'd my last 50k. Back to back aid stations ran out of water (!) but I also shouldn't have taken just a handheld. I knew I'd regret it but for some reason did it anyway. My new rule: 1L min between aid stations.
Nice way to start out the running season by grinding through a 50 miler! That'll get the legs warmed up! Not to mention the spectacular scenery! Nice job on the run and video!🏃📹🎬
Looking forward to doing a KH race this year, so I loved your shoutout to Keira! I agree, a Golden Ticket race in SoCal would be amazing and would definitely be supported!
Ahhh missed these videos! Take me back to when I started running. You were one of my favorite influencers and motivators. This one was good for the soul. Nice seeing you have fun out there.
Love your content! I'm really hoping to get back into ultras after my surgery last week. I've been sidelined for several years. Congrats and thank you!
Excellent video as always! Look like a hot race ?! Also, goodr glasses ? All I wear when running. Congratulations on your finish 🙂👍. I assume the 2 ladies finished as well. Congrats to them as well. Thanks for the videos Billy 🙂👍👍👍
i suspect when you werent filming, you were running. You give the impression that you tanked, but ultrasignup shows you finishing 25th out of 142. Thats not bad.
Haha, when I bet with my friends the loser has to do 25 pushups, vs your groups loser running an ultra. We need to up our game. Thanks for the video, love your work
haha, it's just my preferred look. and I don't think it makes *that* much of a difference in the grand scheme of things...at least that's what I tell myself :)
What is/was your first race to kick off 2024?
Issy Alps 50K - April 5th

Love seeing comments like these...thanks for tuning in, appreciate ya!
Doing a 50k as a rust buster!! 😮. I would be happy with a 10 miler 🤷🏻♂️😆. Great video as always 👍🏼

Yeah, I'm too much of a people pleaser...and then I lose focus on what my pace should be!
Off the bench and finishes 25/159. Crazy good, Billy.

Smart, yeah...I could've benefitted from carry more and not needing it than not having it when I really needed it

Looked like a HOT one! Just been running in Taiwan - so so so humid! Not a fan of the heat! Way to finish. 🙌

I ran 2/3 of it ok...but I definitely have run it better in the past when I was in better shape for it!
Great job! Wondering what kind of tank top you were wearing? Thanks.
Thanks! It’s an Andes tank by Path Projects. Full fit (plus links) are in the description of the video

For sure...have your friends step it up!
Billy, any insight as to why you run in black on a hot sunny day?
haha, it's just my preferred look. and I don't think it makes *that* much of a difference in the grand scheme of things...at least that's what I tell myself :)
Why do so many USA ultras include out-and-backs or loops?
Alway feel like that would make it mentally more difficult.
Permits and Accessibility .Race directing can be tough
