Hi everybody!! I am portuguese, yet I started to admire this people since from long ago, dut to my love for History, hand craft works, different kind of arts, wich I also love etc. Every year I meet another reasons to admire this contry and its people!!! Reggards from Portugal!!
I think it's very good that the Japanese continue to pass on their craftsmanship, I hope it continues like this. In the West, most craftsmen no longer exist. Which I think is a shame, everything had to give way to the industry. If the world ends tomorrow, many people won't even know how to make bread
Wow! I took 3 Silversmithing courses when at Indiana University - Bloomington; so, I found the Japanese silversmiths' work very interesting. I did wonder if they were dipping the annealed silver into a sulfuric acid pickling solution to cool the silver down or something else as I didn't see where the fumes created by the hot silver being immersed into the liquid were being vented. The men were very careful not to splash whatever liquid it was they were using, which was wise. I only questioned that because I ended up getting acid burns to my skin & lungs because the large crocks filled with the sulfuric & nitric acid pickling solutions where the classes were held weren't vented properly. Needless to say, I was very impressed with their craftsmanship.
Any young person thier know this craftsmanship and whts the difference in the knowledge old person have who practising this for 80 years and young who knows this knowledge for 5 years?
Japanese and German product work is so organic and strong and just a pleasure to watch these craftsman bring these art pieces to fruition. The Japanese Long bow was amazing, I want one so bad lol
The fine art of making the things so painfully slow and repetitive that the price skyrockets. Some processes are nice and make sense. But others are simply absolutely inefficient. And repeated again and again. I think this is some kind of therapy.
I admire japanese craftsmanship. They spend a lot of time manufacturing things, prepare good food. They dont spend enough time having babies. So eventually they wont have Japanese people around. They need to spend time concieving babies and leave the material things behind.
you only speed up the process with machines. You can do it all by hand, it would only take longer. Especially cutting the long wood for the bow without failing is hard and takes time. So I would prefer the band saw as well - The whole process is traditional. All the knowledge or know how to get the ability to produce that product is several hundreds or thousands of years old. You even can make the bracelets with a machine if you build one and program it correctly. You will make 10.000 km of bracelets per day.

Merci!
Japanese traditional craftsmen repeat their careful and detailed work over and over again.
And each one is heartfelt and has a different taste.

Every stage the Hammer rhythm is another Art.
The life of a wood/metal/ stone piece changes if fell in the hand of a craftsman/an artist.
Can't imagine the market for a lil hammered cup
I know. There's no way you made good money on that
AWESOME
How much silver was in the disc ?
Beautiful to see and watch- he has patience and proper tools with fire
2 kg of a hammer. Very close fingers. How accurate and concentrated laboring.!

It's 100% bullshit nonsense... meanwhile China supplys the world...
The hammering at 3:39 would be an awesome #angerfist @angerfist kick. The bpm is just right.
my Yamaha r1 is also a work of art 😌

"Don't be hammered while hammering." - ancient Japanese saying.
The basket bag is sooooo beautiful
Gas burners, grinding machines, modern alloyed steel instruments - 500 years old traditions, of course ;) Tenacity worthy of better use.

This is how they made my Toyota truck in 1993😂
