I just got it for Christmas! Your tips are great for a first time grinder owner! Thanks so much for putting your time and energy into making this video, it is so helpful
Thankyou so very much appreciate that. I really enjoy using my Inland Mini Maxi grinder, Im sure yours will come in very handy as well. Have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year and thankyou for watching and commenting. :)
This looks like a mighty little grinder. I am guessing it is based on the little blue grinder made in China, because it looks the same with a different colour! That is obviously where the similarity stops! The first benefit is that you can remove the water reservoir to empty and clean. I haven’t been able to do that with the blue one! I like the fact it is made to Australian standards and that you have a 12 month warranty and the possibility of repair through Axess Glass? I mostly want to thank you for your tutorial, as information on how to use the blue grinder was pretty scarce! The only thing I would add to your info is that when grinding a piece of china or porcelain tile, I have found it best to angle the pieces to allow the glazed surface to be smoothed first and then remove any of the lower area. Some china and tiles tend to chip easily by putting up to the grinding bit! Thank you Peter! You are a wonderful source if information! 💕
Thankyou so much Dianne and you are so very right in your comment. The Inland grinder does have a lot of great benefits to it as stated in the video, also because it carries the Inland brand and is for the Australian market it needed to be to their standards. That's a great grinding tip as well and I look forward to trying it out, I'm sure it will benefit all the viewers. Thankyou for watching and taking the time to comment, appreciate it. :)
This video was SO helpful! The grinder I’m currently using, was lacking a great deal of information covered here, when purchased. I appreciate you and your artistry!!!❤️
Thankyou so much Denise, appreciate that, yes there are a number of grinders that don't come with any or very little information which can be annoying. There are even no brand or unknown brands that are unheard of that don't come with information at all and don't have the backup or support that the Mini Maxi grinder has. Thanks for watching. :)
What a clear and concise video thank you. I am currently tossing up whether to purchase this MiniMaxi Grinder or the Gryphon Studio Grinder as a back up. I work in cold glass - fusing and slumping, but I assume this grinder can be used for the 3mm Bullseye glass I work with. I'm now leaning towards this MiniMaxi Grinder. Much appreciated.
Thankyou so much Adrienne appreciate that. I love the Inland Mini Maxi grinder, Gryphon is also a good brand. The MiniMaxi was designed to work with 3mm stained glass. You can always call Axess Glass who are the national distributor of the grinder if you would like to ask specifics or Merlin Mosaica, both companies are very helpful. Thankyou for watching and commenting. 😊
Thanks Peter. Watched this sometime ago and just had another look (prompted by FB post today) great to view again as mine is in the post! Insightful video as usual! Cheers, Julie
Great video Peter. I have the larger model but am coveting this one it's awesome. I'm glad to see you incorporating this into your craft. **I world wear a mask when grinding ceramic due to silica can enter the lungs (and remain there)** Much respect from Tacoma, Washington, U.S.
Thankyou very much, appreciate that. Yes a P2 or N95 mask is always good to wear, the water will definitely keep the silica down but you cannot be to careful. Respect as well from Australia. :)
Another great video Peter! I have an inland grinder (in USA and larger model) and mine states that I must add the diamond coolant to the water. Does this smaller model not require that? The coolant isn't expensive and not a problem to add but if this grinder doesn't require it that's an added benefit. Thanks.
Thankyou so much Patsy, l haven’t seen any information or been told that it requires the coolant. I would say that it’s not necessary for this model. Thanks for watching. 😊
There is a 3 and 6mm grinding head Axess Glass carries but I am not sure if it works with this grinder you would need to call or send an email off to Axess Glass to check. :) www.axessglass.com
I am just using the one that came with the grinder, however a courser one would be good. It needs to be one with the reverse screw mechanism to work with the water :)
Hi Katrina, l use it for stained glass, glass mosaic tile, vitreous tiles. It’s designed to be used with glass and ceramic so unless it’s something out of the ordinary it should be fine. If you have concerns just give Merlin Mosaica or Axess Glass a call. 😊
Thank you@@TreasuryRoad I want to grind 2x2cm vitreous tiles. I am only a newbie to this but the grinder looks great on your review so might just splurge! Thanks for your informative reviews!

Is there a smaller drill bit (3 or 6mm) head that will work with this model?
There is a 3 and 6mm grinding head Axess Glass carries but I am not sure if it works with this grinder you would need to call or send an email off to Axess Glass to check. :) www.axessglass.com
Beautiful little machine.❤
Thankyou so much, it’s fun to use. 😊
Peter, what grit number is your grinder bit for crockery? Fine or coarse?
I am just using the one that came with the grinder, however a courser one would be good. It needs to be one with the reverse screw mechanism to work with the water :)
The bits are 100 grit. I will be getting a coarser grit in the future
Are courser grit grinding bits better for ceramics than for glass? Thank you!
Hi Peter - can you use this with glass tiles? Katrina
Hi Katrina, l use it for stained glass, glass mosaic tile, vitreous tiles. It’s designed to be used with glass and ceramic so unless it’s something out of the ordinary it should be fine. If you have concerns just give Merlin Mosaica or Axess Glass a call. 😊
