I think this show was fake as Hell! Just the prices for the cars were ridiculously high. Seeing those cars being sold again on the internet for less than half a few years later made it clear that buyers and values were fake. I remember a guy buying a car and many episodes later the same guy showed up selling a project. I even heard that in some car shows people were hired to buy their own vehicles on camera. I cannot say if this happened on Gas Monkey. And I quickly realized that Richard was a loud mouth and a employer from Hell who forced this crew to work a ridiculous amount of hours. He was the guy who knew much less about cars than most of the guys in his garage. Maybe he is not even able to change spark plugs.
If comparing their vehicular designs and goals to foods, Richard was McDonalds and Aaron was a snotty overrated French Chef. Snotty overrated French Chefs don’t last long flipping premade patties at McDonalds.
