The 310 is so slow! I remember being on it for fun when it first started and the buses are already pretty slow (with ISA) and the timetable had so much padding that it had to wait a few times as well
@@mohibjI agree with you on this, and infact it was even the original plan. The plan got so far to the point some single deckers actually had 210 and its destinations on the blindsets, shame it didnt go through though.
Happy new year from a fellow bus driver! I wanted to ask what's the latest shift you've ever done? I have an upcoming shift 16:45-04:01, and the following day I have another 11-hour shift that starts at 13:02! That means I have only 9 hours and 1 minute of rest time! Any advice on how to survive this? I'll probably manage to get around 5-6 hours of sleep between these two shifts and I think it's ridiculous.
Happy New Year to you too! Many years ago in my younger days I could probably have managed on 9 hours of rest period, these days I insist on 14 hours between shifts (which it always is on our rota anyhow). The latest finishing shift I have ever done would be on the 121 route which finishes at 0230.
Soon almost every route there will be electric this year 210 - BYD BD11s C11 - GB kites 143 - GB kites 4 - Electroliners 41 - BZLs 263 - not confirmed yet
@@BristolRE I guess 24 hour routes are a lot more likely to have evening drivers then. And yes the PB driver who told me this said that it might have changed due to impunctuality and driver shortages. Do you know how many late shifts the 231 has?
@@mohibj No idea, can easily be worked out by seeing how many individual buses are on the route after say 2300, I'd guess at 3 buses so 3 late shifts, unlikely to have a separate rota for just 3 duties, though it could happen
@@BristolRE I see. I know the 258, one of my locals, only has 3 evening drivers, probably as it only runs till half 12. So, how many drivers are usually standard for a rota to get split? You told me the 307 has 8, including you.
@@mohibj No idea, the 307 late rota has 6 duties and needs 8 drivers. Usually it would be where both Union and Drivers on the rota are happy for it to be split. 3 duties on the 231 probably needs 4 drivers so it is workable. The 121 rota gets split in February with a late rota introduced.
Happy New Year Peter,Heres to more videos from you!
Thank You, and the same to you
Nice video Peter! Happy New Year. Good to see a variety of buses at Archway.

That would discourage me from travelling
In my opinion, they could just extend the 210 to Stamford Hill, or if it really has to go under that bridge, revert it back to single deckers.

Such detailed information!
At Potters Bar, the 134 and 231 have evening drivers and at Tottenham, the 123 and 149 do; not sure about the 259.
The 134 certainly does as it's a 24hour route, doubt the 231 does as not enough late duties
