A couple nice things about the screw type locking mechanism are, you can easily slack the clamp a tad and slide a long plate to set the balance point of different setups.
The other one I find useful is when doing shots at MFD, where slacking and sliding the camera/lens can bring a shot into focus without the need to drag the tripod backwards, knocking the composition out of whack.
This is particularly handy for macro work when feeling too lazy to get tue focusing rails out of "The Other Bag" lol
I love my Arca, but this is a gorgeous system you have created, and the fore and aft tilting lock accy. plate is extremely well thought out and implemented. It should give Wimberly a some competition for sure!

Great info. Exactly what I was looking for on the Markins shoes. I've used the Markins lever release 60mm for 10 years with no problems. I'm curious to try the screw knob type now. Just purchased a QR-60N on your site to try out.

i think using the screw release clamp is a little better and gives you rock solid preference and progressively lots better adjustment on the camera plate, buy the way, nice video, thank you.

If the screw knob is preferred for its security, do you mean that the quick release clamp is less secure?
