The Montreal Olympics were in 1976. The Biodome was originally a bicycle racing installation. They had a steeply banked wooden race track.
Absolutely loved visiting the biodome the last two trips to Montreal. :)
Thanks for the video, Dan! I love visiting the Biodome whenever I am in town. It never gets old. And it's such an easy ride on the Metro.
Fabulous video Dan! I enjoyed it a lot! Hi to Rosa too! :-)
Dan, "Beaver". Rosa, "It's an otter". Me, "Yes Dan, you are a bad Canadian." lol ;)
PS: Beavers eat at home because it is cheaper.
Thanks for the video. Show us more places please.
Suggestions always welcome
@@thoughtsontravelandlifewill you visit St. Joseph Oratory? There was construction on the site last year. A museum will be built as well. I look forward to walking up the stairs instead of taking the shuttle bus. That is, if I wouldn’t be acrophobic seeing how high it is.
Enjoy your summer trip. I’ll be taking down notes 📝. Merci beaucoup for sharing your solo adventures or with friends.
Thanks for your video on how to get from the Montréal airport to downtown. I went to Montréal last year and enjoyed my first solo travel in Canada. I felt like I was in Europe (though I’ve never been there).
I went to the Biodome thinking it was the Biosphere 😅; silly me. I would love to go back to Montréal Botanical Garden just across the Biodome. And also visit the Insectarium which I missed.
I would love to visit again and also stop by at Québec City. Enjoy the summer 🌞.
I've lived here 5 years and still confuse the Biodome and Biosphere sometimes hahaha
@@thoughtsontravelandlife It could have been named Montréal Zoo or anything that could indicate the presence of animals. It’s a long walk from Botanical Garden 😅.
I’m not a fan of zoo but I like seeing 🐧 penguins up close.
Edit: Rosa has a cool Fujifilm camera 📷 and the strap that seems comfy to wear for a long trip.
If you ever visit Calgary, I think you’ll enjoy the
1. Calgary Zoo
2. Bow Habitat Station & Sam Livingston Fish Hatchery
dislike . any form of wild animals trapped up for human entertainment is pathetic. "they are happy". sure...
