Your new Pteranodon is colored pretty! Little babies in this game are so cute!! So, you will use the new argys for making kibble, do you ever set unwanted tames free? Cool episode!!! :)
If my research into taming is correct, this is how taming babies works. Lets say you find an amazing lvl 120 dino that every "wild level" was "pumped" into Health. Then when you perfect tamed it those levels also added to HP. so your dino has 178 "level ups" into HP (-1 for starting level). Then you find a mate for this dino that amazingly had all 178 level ups into Melee Damage. When these 2 make a baby it will look at each stat and 70% of the time give the baby the best stat. So if you get a baby that gets the Health from the first dino and the Melee from the 2nd you will have a level 357 baby dino because you get a level for every "level up" worth of a stat you got from the parents. This will really never happen like this from a wild dino, but it should explain how it works. Thumbs up this so Sl1p sees this. I wanna see him get some monster tames. :)
+Harry Nieuwenhoven Not the E key, any hotbar key you have an item in you cant use mounted, i missed my telescope (4) and hit my crossbow (5), death by falling...... they need to fix that.
+SphEroGo Actually they are available for any player with admin status, but they are still really buggy (get it, buggy?). They were put in for people that like modding, but they aren't ready for regular game play as of now.
+Ola Bola They were recently updated and aren't as loud, but they aren't ready for regular play because they still don't work as intended. Anyone with admin status can spawn them into game.
Hey Sl1p! There is trick, to make mating easier. Just put them on wandering next to each other and spam "whistle all stay put" so they will not move at all.
it doesnt work like you seem to think. it just takes every stat from one of the parents, so you cannot breed superbabies, you can just get the best stat from every dino. so if you could i.e. find a ptera with 1k base dmg, you could breed that with a ptera which has high base hp and get like a superfighter with some luck.
yeah but in most cases he is right. The stats depend on the pre-leveled (base + taming) state and the level of the baby depends on the post-leveled Level of the parents
Yeah, that way you won't have to find a Dino for each stat( ex,one has high weight, one high health, one high damage, and so on) to get a really good Dino
From what I can tell about breeding it's the stats that determine the level of the baby. So it is possible to get the better stats from each parent to get bonus levels.
Sl1p, the way the taming works is it's an average of the two parent's levels. For example, Ouncy was level 179, it's parents were around 183 and 175 when they bred.
love it! i think the taming is based off of the level that they're at when you actually breed them, not their base level. So if you were to level up veyrona a huge bunch and then make another baby you could make an even crazier superbaby!!!!!!!
the wiki has the information on the breading with the formula in how breading is calculated ... ive had a lvl 189 and a 171 from the same parents who werent lvled up in between
Slipgator, the breeding system determines the level of babies based on the stats that they inherit. When a wild dino levels up it will randomly assign that point into any one of its stats and sometimes it will assign that point to movement speed. When this occurs, the movement speed remains the same and the point is essentially wasted. Therefore, a 120 argy may have randomly assigned say 10 points into movement speed and is essentially a 110. With a baby however, this does not occur and instead the level is directly reflecting the stats that it acquired. This is also what makes it possible to receive a baby that is a higher level than either of the parents. If both parents have many of their pre tame points randomly assigned to one of their stats this means that the baby can inherit the good stats from either parent. You have to realize that the system works by giving the baby a 70% chance of inheriting the better stat of the two parents, there is in fact no mixing of the two parents in any one stat. This means that for the best possible dino you would want to breed one with high health with one melee, with one with high stamina, etc. Hope this helps.
I have a real important question slip do u know how to turn the maturation and incubation process up aka make them grow up fast and hatch faster because in my single player world it has taken a week to get a carno to get to like a quarter of maturation process completion... help pls
Hey Slip, just wanted to let you know that your ARK: Survival evolved s2e59 is in the MAD MAX playlist. Keep up the good job! Subscribed and liked all the ARK, MAD MAX, subnautica and 7 days. My favorite vids are the ones with Z you to have such good chemestry.
Btw slip breeding is highly based on states... and then base tame level. for example 2 perfect 120 tamed argys with the same stats will have a 179 baby most likely.
I have a friend who no lived for like ten days straight and came out of It with a 250 wolf with 1678 melee. I was blown away at how quickly it killed things
when a baby is born does he start like he was just tamed or does he start like he already got levels? if that's the case that might be what happened with ouncy's baby
Sl1p, just to let you know that when breeding the dino is going to their stats from either the father or mother and there won't be any bonuses. As you saw the ptera had the stam of the mom and the weight, but the rest it got from the dad.
Slip, the level of each baby is not dependent on the levels of its parents. The level of the baby is dependent solely on the stats of each parent at the time they became yours. When a baby is born, it takes stats randomly from each parent. There's a 50/50 chance the baby will take Mom's health or Dad's health, for example. Once the baby's stats are determined, the baby's overall stat points in all rows are added up, and a level number is assigned to the baby based on the total number of stat points the baby has. The reason you got a high level pteranodon was because it randomly chose its parents' higher stats. For example: Mom has a high base melee but low base health. Dad has high base health but low base melee. If the baby randomly chooses Mom's melee stat and Dad's health stat, then it will have an abundance of stat points, and will be a higher level. If you want to really min/max your breeding, you would breed two parents who have higher than average stat points in the desired fields (health, melee, speed, weight, etc.), and keep the babies who gain the most stat points.
If poundage got high lvl stamina and hp and tonnage got high lvl dmg and weight the baby will be better. The lvl is dependant on the idea that babys has a 70% chance to get the better stat, so if the parents got good basestat in the same areas the breeding is less effective, btw your pteradons base dmg is amazingly good! Keep up the vids mr gater
I've noticed with my own breeding that their level at hatching can be as low as the lowest level parent. I've had that happen several times now. Usually cull the hatchling at that point rather than spend resources on it. (Free prime meat if nothing else)
Have these guys got reduced amount of kibble/meat/food needed for taming? cos it looks like that 120 only ate like 4 kibble and ive been taming pteranodons and even low level ones take way more than that
his observation skill in ark is as sad as two of my friends, like flying past uncon dinos many times screaming i cant find it, while i just go over and stand beside it and they are "oh there woops", and i love seeing ppl like that xD
The baby dino tends to sway more towards the lower level parent if the parents levels are large in gap, ive mated a 180 raptor with a 34 raptor and got a level 70 raptor.
For what it's worth, I went back and found out "The Double" was introduced in S2E26. You did not film the tame because of some half-episode reasoning... Anyway you weren't certain but you said he was around 112 before you tamed him. The you had went out and upped him to 192. Your new Pteranodon is definitely the better mate based on initial tame levels. That took me a while to find it! Good Luck!
To my knowledge a perfect tame needs to be tamed with full health. So you have to feed the dino before it gets hungry so the taming process doesn't start then use full kibble on it. Let me know if I'm wrong cause then i don"t have to work so hard on my tames. Love the vids and hope your vacay is amazioning!!
what is the music at the beginning of every video ? I like it and want to hear the whole thing . I've watched a lot of these vids and looks like a good game .
Love your videos. Did you know if you whistle stay put continually it stops them moving while they mate (using the menu would make it more annoying but f you have it key bound it is the best way I've found.
Oh also a male can mate with multiple females at the same time. (So you don't have to keep swapping them. you can do them in one go). And to get a super dino you need multiple dinos with different stats leveld up (so you would need multiple even if the cool down was lower)
You got so lucky! Not only was your perfect 120 ptera a perfect tame, it's stats went in all the best places! My 120 kibbled ptera ended up with 600 oxygen! but even with all that extra oxygen she still throws me off and refuses to go in the water! xD
+Devyn Bowser no fences around his vaults either, they are most likely not in chronological order. He said he was gonna be "traveling in time" while on vacation, probably still gone.
Your new Pteranodon is colored pretty! Little babies in this game are so cute!!

Cool episode!!! :)

Did anyone notice that Wifi and Witooth are back somehow when they were demolished by The DodoRex?
They probably backed up the server so they wouldn't actually lose their dino's.
Your biggest enemies in ARK:
Alpha outta nowhere,
Offline raids
The Dreaded J Key.
And the E key while flying ;)
+Conveniently Placed Goat You forgot the most important one : Ark
And that one guy who steals ur stuff
And the annoying no snap roof and pillars
+Harry Nieuwenhoven Not the E key, any hotbar key you have an item in you cant use mounted, i missed my telescope (4) and hit my crossbow (5), death by falling...... they need to fix that.
DMAC have a superargy male 195 base lvl...next time mate Ouncy with it and bring the egg back :)

Are dune buggys in the game yet?
+jim bob no they wher just in for like a day but only for testing :P they wher kinda cool :D

Hey Sl1p! There is trick, to make mating easier. Just put them on wandering next to each other and spam "whistle all stay put" so they will not move at all.
You should build a unwanted Dino shop so people that don't want some Dino's can go there and someone else can have them
Cool
+TheGaming panda Great Idea! :)
Brooke Cole wait that was his user? Lol he copied TheGamingBeaver
You know Sl1p this is one of the best series I've seen out of any youtuber, keep up the great work man!

The devs said that there are small chances of mutations. Meaning the baby might get a stat that's actually better than BOTH parents.

At around 8:30 when slip walks back from the incubator slowmobility was next to the pen with his dead in it
For everyone that says "why are those T-Rex's alive?" This was pre-recorded.
Guess Poundage took the ladies to POUND TOWN
+MagicPuffin you mean Tonnage....

MagicPuffin Guess Tonnage took the ladies to TON TOWN?
Perhaps Tonnage just went to town ;)
Slip needs to just open an argy farm

+Jason Manzie xD
+Jason Manzie lol
+Johnny Valkery 'Cuz she gun be screamin' it. lol
Loved it Sl1p. It's interesting to see the baby's and what statistics they get after being born. It's still super confusing though.
who the hell disliked this?
Sl1p, the way the taming works is it's an average of the two parent's levels. For example, Ouncy was level 179, it's parents were around 183 and 175 when they bred.
there is a bit of randomness in the breeding, there is a minimom and a maximom level for the babys based on the parents
Congrats Slip, I've been watching your journey to find a female lvl 120 Ptera. Glad you finally got one!
this guy is like, my favorite streamer for ark.
Nice Pteranodon Slip! Nice colorz Epicly awesome stuff and things!
In the top left corner of the base (the mountainous part) you should build a watch tower or landing station to ad to the base but you don't have to.
Awesome colors too man.. high five! Starving the animals until their food meter is below 25% helps ensure a +60 nearly every time.
love it! i think the taming is based off of the level that they're at when you actually breed them, not their base level. So if you were to level up veyrona a huge bunch and then make another baby you could make an even crazier superbaby!!!!!!!
Didn't wifi and witooth die to the dodorex? Plz reply because I need to know this info

Wow, Pterodactyls have "Magic awesome fun" time for a really long time. 😆
does it base the babies level off what the parents tamed out at or what ther currant level is
Wow! I think all of little thrusters stats went into melee! He's gonna be a good attack ptera
you know that the levels and statistics that you gain after taming count towards the baby as well
Awww thank you for naming an Argie after me Sl1p! So kind of you!
how can you change the mat and other timers i am on my pc so where the game off timers stop so 2 days is more like 2 weeks
Little Thruster is great, I'm already in love with him
I have a real important question slip do u know how to turn the maturation and incubation process up aka make them grow up fast and hatch faster because in my single player world it has taken a week to get a carno to get to like a quarter of maturation process completion... help pls
so is little thruster gonna be a level up like an argie?
Hi Slip. Maybe you should have Drax lower the timer for mating reset timer. I have mine down to a day or so.
Nice melee damage on veyronica! She'll make a sweet battle bird. ^_^
didnt you have thruster for the dodo rex fight?
man. the double and veyronica must've had a lot of fun for the next mating to be in 9 days

when a baby is born does he start like he was just tamed or does he start like he already got levels? if that's the case that might be what happened with ouncy's baby
slip why do you still have the three trex i thought they were dead
Wait, how do you move stuff back and forth so fast? what's the shortcut?
Is it possible to Change the gather rates and taming times in singleplayer like they have in this server?
Hey slip you should make the Dino for breeding heavy so they don't move and do the mating thing
What are u gona use the argys
S1lp can you breed 2 sarco's together???
Sl1p, just to let you know that when breeding the dino is going to their stats from either the father or mother and there won't be any bonuses. As you saw the ptera had the stam of the mom and the weight, but the rest it got from the dad.
wait how did you get bluetooth and witooth
Who would ever dislike an ark video from slipg8r
The argy levels make sense because poundage had the highest level baby and ouncy is also her offspring and also was born at a high level

How do you have all those trees again?

If you have any PVP troubles or they suddenly introduce dimorphodon swarms or something at least you have a fleet of Argies
Have these guys got reduced amount of kibble/meat/food needed for taming? cos it looks like that 120 only ate like 4 kibble and ive been taming pteranodons and even low level ones take way more than that
Your intro is soooo AMAZING!!!!!
his observation skill in ark is as sad as two of my friends, like flying past uncon dinos many times screaming i cant find it, while i just go over and stand beside it and they are "oh there woops", and i love seeing ppl like that xD
How did you get your t-rexes because they died fighting the dodo red.
Rubachuk41 they have resets on their severs so people don't lose things.. they said it when they first got here
The baby dino tends to sway more towards the lower level parent if the parents levels are large in gap, ive mated a 180 raptor with a 34 raptor and got a level 70 raptor.
Slip when they're mating press the U key everynow and then (the stop key) and they'll stop wandering around.
your awesome dude i watch you every day keep it up
Hang on I thought Slip lost wifi and there baby and only had bluetooth left alive did they rollback the server or something to get the dinos back??
Prerecorded episode.
how did you get wifi bluetooth
How do you dye dinos
how you get your rexises back
Love the vid sl1p!
What is the 8 day timer
Does it matter how many times the parents have been leveled up at the time of taming?
How do you stop lag in ark
For what it's worth, I went back and found out "The Double" was introduced in S2E26. You did not film the tame because of some half-episode reasoning... Hey Man love the vids keep them coming. Didn't Wifi and Bluetooth die?
Episode 26, you said you think The Double was a level 112. It was somewhere between the biome update that you got him.
You got so lucky! Not only was your perfect 120 ptera a perfect tame, it's stats went in all the best places! My 120 kibbled ptera ended up with 600 oxygen! but even with all that extra oxygen she still throws me off and refuses to go in the water! xD
how did he get wifi and withooth back after the dodorex
how did you get witooth and bluetooth back???
+Devyn Bowser no fences around his vaults either, they are most likely not in chronological order. He said he was gonna be "traveling in time" while on vacation, probably still gone.
i was thinking maybe with ark having a little "halloween special" anything you lose gets put back after its over
Lewis Bigshews
***** whoa... dont be a grouch mister lol.
hey SL1P if your mating press/spam u or the all stop following n they won't move makes it bit easier n u won't have to build a breeding bin
