One funny thing I realized much later is that Damien was in the girl's toilet! I can't believe I missed that fact 😂.

    "Why don't I know you?"
"I'm new. I just moved here from Africa."
    "What?"
    "I used to be home-schooled."
    "Wait... what?"
"My mom taught me at home..."
"No, I know what home-school is, I'm not retarded! So you've actually never been to a real school before? Shut up! Shut up!"
    "I didn't say anything."
Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Krysta Carter, Miranda Edwards, Jill Morrison, and Diego Klattenhoff.
Music Enthusiast Fact: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler coached Rajiv Surendra on how to rap for his on-screen performance in the school's winter talent show.
Making Lemonade Fact: Tim Meadows broke his hand before shooting and had to wear a cast, so the explanation that his character, Mr. Duvall, had carpal tunnel was added.
Casting Notes Fact: Amy Poehler, who plays Mrs. George, is only seven years older than her on-screen daughter, Rachel McAdams. Originally, Lindsey Lohan wanted to be Regina George, and Rachel McAdams wanted to be Cady Heron.
Art Imitates Life Fact: The movie is based on a real high school, New Trier, which is located in Winnetka, Illinois, in Chicago's North Shore. The school serves a large area of affluent students from five different townships and villages. New Trier, despite the portrayal of mean girl cliques, is actually noted as one of the best high schools in the United States.
Location Location Fact: Although the movie was not filmed in the wealthy north suburbs of Chicago known as the "North Shore" (where it is said to take place), several real places in the area are mentioned. These include: Old Orchard Mall in Skokie, Illinois (although the scene was filmed at Sherway Gardens in Etobicoke, Ontario), Walker Brothers Pancake House (the gift certificates at the end have the restaurant's real logo), and Northwestern University. School scenes were filmed at Lincoln Park High School in Chicago. Exterior shots of the school were of Etobicoke Collegiate Institute in Etobicoke, as well as hallway scenes. Some scenes were also filmed at a lake front park in Lincoln Park, Chicago.

I didn't expect you'd also have fun facts for this movie 😂
Kevin G gave a short and sweet rap performance 👍🏻
      "Making Lemonade Fact" 😂
I didn't know his hand was really injured. Yea I guess they made it work even though he broke his hand.
If the actresses for Cady Heron and Regina George switch places... 🤔 I think that could work too.
      Thanks for sharing! 😊

I lost it when you said Regina's mom had to fix two other things 🤣I knew you'd be out of your element with this as it's a very American story but I'm glad you still found some enjoyment out of the comedy.
For a little bit of context, these types of movies (and even television shows) were very popular in the 90s and 2000s. Dubbed the "teen comedy," there were hundreds of coming of age stories set in high schools that featured some combination of jocks, popular girls, nerds, and the new kid. Most of them ended with the nerds or new kid either tearing down the popular kids or successfully climbing the social ladder to become them. Regardless, the kids being mean to each other was a status quo that wasn't pushed back against.
And that's what made this film hit so hard and allowed it to become the cultural phenomenon for so many millenials. It presented the format and framing that we were expecting but subverted expectations by telling the audience that this wasn't right, that we should be treating our friends better; with that message really being delivered towards women. Through that lens it could be said that this is a feminist film that had been trojan horsed into American culture. And it's that subversive writing that elevates it above being "just another teen comedy."

Eternal Sunshine Of A Spotless Mind, The Fisher King, Mean Girls.....how fun to shift from Hitchcock to some 90s/early 2000s stuff! And some good ones! I'm going to watch this now, but before I do..... I have some random ones to suggest from this period: "Election" (1999). "The Royal Tenenbaums" (2001) "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" (mid 90s), "To Die For" (1995) "Run Lola Run" (1999 - less than 90 minutes!), "Best In Show" (2000). Oh man, you'd do great commentary on all those! For some really great works of cinema from this period, "There Will Be Blood" (2011), and two Terence Malick films that only certain very intelligent and sensitive reactors could do justice to: "The New World"(2007) and "The Tree Of Life" (2011). (In fact other Terence Malick movies like Days Of Heaven, Badlands and The Thin Red Line you would do great commentary as well). Just suggestions, not requests! I think the first batch would all be fun reactions, and the second batch profound ones! :D
