  • He hasn't wrestled since a life-threatening experience caused by a subdural hematoma discovered after he collapsed following a match with Kazuchika Okada last year, but as he revealed talking to the media at his new job as head coach for New Japan in Los Angeles, Shibata is still giving back to pro wrestling - and keeping his dream of returning to the ring alive.

      That's all well and good but does Shibata know how many lawsuits would get filed against NJPW in LA if they replicated the same practices as an old school Japanese Dojo.
      Look at Bill DeMott, he stiffs a few of these snowflakes and gets fired and treated like a monster.

      KatchouroBlade according to a lot of them though, he was a total asshole. That may have flown under the radar and may have been perceived as acceptable back in the day but it isn't anymore and I'm glad things changed.

      As I began watching New Japan at the end of 2017, I don’t know so much about him as he doesn’t wrestle anymore. I watched his match with Okada and Sakura Genesis and I liked it. I hope to watch other matches of his overtime.

      Deluxe Division western students are snowflakes, on japanese dojos, getting the shit kicked out of you is a huge part of the learning process, that stuff won't last in the US with students who get offended over everything
      The level of strictness will go down in the US

    The storyline would be so perfect if Okada wins back the IWGP Championship, hopefully in another feud w/ Naito, and then, at the G1, they leave a "mystery" spot for a competitor. In comes Shibata, wins the G1, goes on to face Okada at the Tokyo Some, they work a match where the roles are almost reverse, turning Okada as heel as possible. Then they set up the same spot, as corny as that sounds, people will hold on for their dead lives. Shibata looks at Okada, pulls him up by the hand, and Rainmakers the shit out of him, and goes on to win.

    Man it’s weird to see shibata without his hair-do. Also I wanna learn shibata style wrestling style, but only shibata could make it work obviously, this guy had a death wish or something, but you can’t tell people how they can live their life, if shibata wanted to go out daily and kill wrestlers in the ring for a living, along with himself, I still respect that, how can you not, he did it his way and he’s happy.

  • @SuperAttitudeera
    @SuperAttitudeera 6 років тому

    I'm gonna be honest, here. I like Shibata's matches, but, and this is an unpopular opinion, he is a first-class idiot for playing Russian Roulette with his career with no regard for his safety or that of his opponents. Only an idiot would do that to himself and now I have to feel sorry for him? Save the sadness and the tears for this guy because it's his own fault that he's brought his career to a possible halt. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's healthy now, but ask someone like Bret Hart on his opinion of wrestlers like Shibata, that shit wouldn't fly in his environment.

    • @georgebrice3831
      @georgebrice3831 6 років тому +1

      Katchouroblade+ Bret is never happy it a three way tie between him, ole Anderson and Jim cornette for being the miserable and bitter bastard in wrestling history

    • @KatchouroBlade
      @KatchouroBlade 6 років тому +1

      Corney has a very narrow view of what type of wrestling he likes, Ole's a nihilist who screwed himself out of a Hall of Fame payday and Bret's a mark for himself.
      They're three guys living in the past that don't realise it's OK to look back every now and again, but if you stare too long you just come across as a bitter old curmudgeon up your own ass.

    • @AneesSarwar34
      @AneesSarwar34 6 років тому +2

      SuperAttitudeera you’re right about watching out for your opponent, but blaming him for his own health? He chose this, it’s not a cake walk. And he doesn’t need any sympathy from anybody. It’s not his fault that he gives it his all, just like Daniel Bryan, instead of bashing the likes of him, learn to respect their hearts, that’s the only way they know how to wrestle, if they give it their all, 100% through a match, does that mean short careers, maybe. But they do it their own way, you can’t tell them how to live their lives, they only know one thing, to be the best in that ring.

    • @JC-ef8me
      @JC-ef8me 6 років тому

      SuperAttitudeera That may be true but putting his life on the line was sadly entertaining for all of us
