Honestly such a good farm. Fully expected it to suck cos most bedrock farms do but in less than ten mins got almost 2 stacks of slime balls
Worked great! Made it in about an hour after I gathered everything. Most of the work was clearing the darn mangrove trees

If you want to make it more efficient just afk at the platform for like 5 minutes replace the magma blocks with normal blocks destroy an area where you can kill the slime and kill them with looting 3.
I had a similar farm to this but with iron golems - and 4 levels high - this is far simpler (you can extend it higher by adding walls and cutting a floor in each over the magma cubes & putting a snow golem (or iron golem?) on each level one above the other… JC, you killed it again with the amazing farm! Just a reminder to everyone, this specific slime farm can’t have too many layers. Slimes only spawn between y-level 51 to 69.
If the first layer is at 51, then 55, 59, 63, and 67 for 5 total layers is the max.
Slimes also don’t spawn in swamps on new moon days. (When the moon is completely dark.)
What should the afk level be?

The hardest part of this is clearing out an area took a long time but the farm is very good

If you place a bunch of brown mushroom on the floor, the light level they give off will make it so only slimes will spawn in the farm
When I did that nothing spawned at all

Does it have to be a Mangrove Swamp biome? Those are hard to come by in the survival world I'm doing. Would a regular swamp biome work just as well, if I can keep it close to a slime chunk?

well yes but also no trident killers are nice because of the looting effect when u hold a looting sword and they kill faster than magma blocks so when magma blicks are used the efficiency and the total yield of the farm is decreased so u can do whatever is convenient for u

It can be used on the normal Swamp biome but the rates for Slimeballs are significantly reduced, I would personally say it is not worth the effort of all those materials and building it in a normal Swamp biome.

As long as the layers are in the Y levels where slimes spawn, I don’t see a problem with this
I recommend using a lava bucket to clear out the area
Wish I had seen that earlier. Took me over an hour with maxed out tools
I used a flint and steel to just burn it down
I have a wondering trader in my village. That every now and again will have slime for trade.. so thats the easier option

they won't spawn if youre too close

It can’t be simplified that much, there has to be a specific pattern of trapdoors to bait only creeper spawns

Ordinary swamps have only certain areas where slimes spawn- slime chunks- which can be hard to locate

Did this and everything was working great and super fast, but then after sleeping the farm just stopped working the next day. Any idea why?

This worked well. But my minecart stopped eventually. Im not sure how to fix this
try placing down more powerd rails?
Hard to say without more information but have you tried nudging it to get it moving again? Are both the levers in the correct position and on?
@@Loctorak I got the same problem the powered rails are on, but when the minecart does 1 cycle from both sides it just stops on one of the powered rails

Make sure the brown lookin mushrooms cover the whole floor
There must be some specifics missing cause sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t lol
It is related to the phases of the moon

For better rates yes since they spawn more in mangrove swamps than normal swamps on bedrock

Need help I made two of these one in a swamp biome and one in a mangrove biome they both don’t work (the one in the swamp biome actually spawn LOTS AND LOTS of mobs which resulted in me adding water and just turning it into a mob farm work extremely well, but I don’t need it so I won’t be using it but good to have it I guess and the one in the mangrove biome just doesn’t spawn anything I’ve tryed most thing ANY IDEAS comment them thanks,

Nope 👎 found nothing I have 4 total none work 3 deep inside a mangrove place too and different ones too so they are NOT close together

Can it be a normal swamp biome?
Doubt it since it normally has to be a full moon in a swamp for slimes to spawn, so play it safe with a mangrove one. Find a mangrove biome on a seed finder online with your seed and if it’s far, divide x (first number) and z coordinate (last number) by 8, then go to those divided coordinates in the nether and make a portal (can be any y level) then you will spawn in a mangrove biome. My nearest one was like 5k blocks away but only about 600 with the nether strategy
Well, I ask because I traveled 32,000 blocks in each direction and didn’t find a mangrove biome. I play on a server and the server owner doesn’t give out the seed for obvious reasons. So I’m not too sure what to do.
@@CharlieCharleyStuff In that case maybe the server is older than 1.19, so for that watch one of JC’s older slime farm tutorials and if that doesn’t work I don’t know
I built this, but it is spawning every mob except for slime despite the farm being in a slime chunk. I built it over an ocean. Is that the issue?
Slime farms NEED light.... Idk why he has it pitch black in there.... Hes 100% wrong. Use Glowstone so they can still spawn on that block, torches prevent that Block being a spawn point.
@@chrissavva3172no they dont this farm dosent stop lying i just tried this farm with light and no light i used jack o lantern and i got 0 slime balls with light and 1 stack and a half in the dark and tested them both 5 min

No, slime chunks only make a difference below Y level 40 and slime only spawn y level 51 and above in swamps or mangrove swamps

@@josiahday210Ik know this is a bit late, but in the 1.20 update (or earlier) mob spawning was adapted so most hostile mobs could only spawn in pure darkness (light level 0) whilst some mobs including slimes can spawn with slightly lighter conditions (I think light level 7 and below)

Worked for me the first time now using it the second time and it doesn’t work
It started working again but slower cause I wasn’t around being gone will decrease spawn rate but it will slowly come back up

To attract the slimes into the magma pit. Otherwise they'd just bounce around randomly
This might make up for the complete failure of your creeper farm design. This thing is EFFICIENT

You can AFK wherever you like, but it'll negatively affect your spawn rates if you dont use the platform
Why is mine so slow
It depends on the moon phase (apparently), so if you yried during a late or early moon phase you get basically no slimes. You'll get a ton if it's a full moon
Okay so i made the farm without lighting up anything and i was getting slimes 1 stack in 4 minutes, then i started to light the area up and they stopped spawning what have i done wrong? 🤔
