They signed my paperwork, but refused to sell me the car at the ordered price. I ordered the Hellcat, and then when it came in, they wanted an additional $30k. I said no, they ended in throwing me out of the dealership. They only used me so they could order the car. This dealership was Richardson Chrysler Dealership. I tell everyone I know, and finally bought a car from an Oklahoma Dealer.
Your advice is applicable to all life situations. You are responsible for yourself and your decisions . This also means that you are in control . You have power . Your money will be welcome anywhere . Awesome advice on having your OWN financing !!!
My father who was retired at the time, wanted to work for a car dealer. He bought new suits, got a job at a Nissan dealer. He worked there for a total of 4 hours, and left. He said everything they tell people from the minute they walk in is completely bullshit - and he couldn’t do that to people. If anyone THINKS they got the better of a car dealer - you are only kidding yourself. You cant FORCE a dealer to sell a car to you at a certain price. If you walked out FEELING you got the better of dealer - you simply dealt with a good SALES team.
A good deal is relative! I cannot tell someone they didn’t get a good deal you must remember I controlled the markup process from the dealership and held them to the price from day one
Tall guys brother Jeremy is the king when it comes to Hellcat deals. He got a brand new Hellcat and his payments are only $606 a month. And he didn't put any money down.
@@jrhemilife74 He runs a business (UA-cam) , he can write off a lot of stuff for taxes and a car lease is one, so yes most likely he leased it if he was smart.
Great vid. My advice is buy 1 year older. Let the first guy take that 10-15k hit and get a low mile buy. Got my 2019 Scat in 2020. Was $54,000 new, got it for $35,000 with only 13k miles.
There's no such thing as negotiating if you have bad credit. I think alot of people need to know that. If your getting financed, you best believe you better come with good credit.
This is false, ALWAYS negotiate the total price of the car no matter what ya score is. Your score is irrelevant when negotiating the price of a vehicle. You may be correct when it comes to the APR but definitely not the total cost.
@@__tymir1788 This is not false. What can you negotiate with bad credit? When you negotiate a price of a vehicle that's because it has some type of rebate. Whether it be a dealer rebate or the auto maker rebate. That's the sales pitch to get you in the dealership. They spend millions every year on advertising to get you in there. But if you read the fine print, it will tell you "for well qualified buyers".
@@__tymir1788 who told you that? Credit is everything lol. Bad credit you can’t get shit, you’ll be paying high prices or they’ll offer you a cheaper uglier car with a high down payment, bad credit won’t get you into a Shelby GT500 unless you’re rich
@@21jordanlee he’s right dude, Going in with confidence is key-if you’re walking in already worried that your score isn’t good they can smell that and a lot of them will want to pull your credit before they waste they’re time with you. You can get a price on the car (most of the price) before your credit is even pulled. They don’t know your situation as far as credit score-co-signer,down payment unless you tell them. I know because i was that way when i was younger but yet some of my friends could pull it off somehow. Just like a hot women-if you have Confidence chances are a lot higher even if you’re broke. Rod did a great job with this and i learned some stuff-notice he had Confidence and sprinkled in some charisma and was a little humbled(human) at times-asking them to explain because he didn’t understand. All those things helped out in this story.
honestly bro I would at least put 20% down which is around 15,000 or 20,000 depends on the model. Because if you only put 5k down that monthly payment is going to bite you in the ass. the more you put down the less monthly payment
i bought a 2020 widebody scat pack plus and they did the same thing im glad i waited 1-2hrs to get the manager to sign. nice vid man letting these people know.
I just want to let you know that this was a very well informed video for people that never bought cars before. However, you still didn't beat the dealership. It just so happened that you are better informed than the average person to save money. As a former car salesman the goal is to milk all the money they can out of you basically the dumb customer! I hated doing this to my customers so I used to help my custers out on incentives they knew nothing about. Unfortunately that's why I'm no longer a salesman anymore.
I totally understand what your saying about the building of money during that time ,In 2017 i decided to make a car payment to a new account i started just for the fact of making an imaginary payment ,that would build more money for the next toy i would buy ,my payment would be a minimum of $500 and anything over is bonus ,i figured on 6 months to 1 year then take that money for a down payment on whatever i chose ,I never used that money and i still put money to that account ,Itnow has a little over 43k in it lol,And the best part is its all just disposable cash lol
Most important advice is to get in writing everything you agree to and make it clear always come in with your own funding and always question things because they try to nickle and dime when they really don't need to man never let them bully you into what they want.
Good stuff young brother. You have just given me a ROYAL education when it comes to price analysis/breakdown and negotiation. I now have a much better understanding of the process. Thank you!
This goes to show you all salesmen aren't in cahoots with the finance department. If they were you never would have found out about the 6k. 80% of people wont get this lucky but im glad to see somebody worked the dealer. Congrats on the redeye, she's a beauty.
You know what I find interesting there avg sales person doesn’t know any better.. it’s such a high revolving door where the only experience is the sales manager
36 minutes flew by! I was sitting under the learning tree. Excellent video. You got me ready to bully some dealers right now! Customers do have way more power than they think. Thank you for the reminder and salute from further up the road off route 301 in Maryland.
Great advice! Salesmen try to get over all the time. It's 10x worse if you're a female. So I'm firm, stand my ground, and let them know that I'm willing to walk away. Confidence is the key!!! They switch up real quick when you know your $hit. 😆
Back in the day walked out of a deal because of $50 over what I told them I was willing to pay. The sales manager was like hey it's only $50 and I said exactly....kept walking. He yelled out the door while walking back to my car I won't sell it to you for that price tomorrow and I said I won't be back! Next day went to another dealership found similar but even better car for my grandma told them exactly what I was willing to pay upfront and paid that exact amount. Do your homework stand firm you will get your deal.
Yea just got my wife her dream car for 10k under sticker with a 2% interest rate. Fully Loaded 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. It was 1000 miles away. Do your research people and be patient. We saw the same truck a few weeks before I found the one we bought. It was literally 3k under sticker but we didn’t pull the trigger the sales guy was ass. The color combo of interior and exterior she wanted was really hard to find already, I called a few days after went to test drive it and they sold it. So I literally looked at auto trader went through 15-17 pages of the Jeep Wrangler clicking on all the one with exterior color to see if it has the right interior color (some had the wrong description color listed in the details of the car.) literally found the truck it’s under MSRP all the bells and whistles! I l couldn’t believe it. So I call instantly to see if it was available and it was. Made sure this was truck she wanted started the process and it was way easier than being in person. The numbers where exactly what we wanted and she got the exact truck she wanted!!
Thats why i got the base model hellcat. I can get the seats wrap in leather and a custom sound system alot cheaper. I was not paying 5k-6k for those up grades. Never pay for those add on warrantys
Man what kind of money do you need to be making to be able to buy one of these and be comfortable to pay for like maintenance, tune ups, brakes and stuff like that . I was just thinking about getting a 2016-17 hellcat charger. I make about 60k a year and I’m 22 but I don’t really know much about owning one
Great vid I just got my widebody 50th anniversary scat for 43k out the door it was a long process but just like you said make sure to get all the paperwork signed and dated it put alot of pressure on the dealer to remain transparent
People working at most delaships are trained for this type of fuckery Go with your own finance from your credit union and read very carefully the final papper work they will try everything to get back more on that final deal I 100% appreciate someone finally taking us through the steps of seing fuckery before we sign......much respect
Yes, unfortunately it's a business and some of them do and try to rip off those who don't know any better. I had a situation where a shady dealer tried to drop 2 vehicles on me through a trade and i walked instantly when they tried that.
That's how the finance department makes his cut. By selling all that extra BS and higher interest rates over what the banks are actually offering. Because you were bringing outside financing, the finance department was trying to hustle you for lost interest revenue. Smart man you are. Well done...
The reason the OTD price lower than the original calculation, the power dollar incentive is taken out before Tax/registration; therefore , your total OTD is lower because you are not paying taxes and registration fees on the $6000. The Nitrous filled tires must be a joke.
I live in Chicago the carjacking state. I went to the dealership and stated that I was planning to finance a scat pack charger. I did not discuss the down payment. I went to the dealer that had every color scat pack available, some came with the sun roof top. The younger crowd you have to factor in your insurance, I have a son that’s 21 yrs. old that drives my scat pack. I got him to commit to a final price out the door, if you had enough money to purchase the car, never say to them that you going to cash out a car they will go up in price. My credit was fair, I allowed the dealer to quote me a percentage based on my credit. That then gave me the grounds of how much to put down. I put $30,000 down and my note was $320 dollars. I purchase a bumper to bumper warranty 75,000 miles and a interior and exterior package that bump it up to $379 a mth. I always have believed $500 a month is a high car note but I’m old fashion. Equate if someone steals your car what’s going to happened and also think about if you decide to trade what financial position will I be in; equity is always a plus. There was an attempt car jack gun and all with my scat pack, I decided I was going to sell it and the dealer tried to put me over a barrel. I walked out after they tried to offer me $27,000 and later I was offered from $32000 to 34500. I declined because of course I’m not willing to pay over a $500 note when I have a $379 note. This car is only driven in the summer, it’s my modern day Hot Rod.
Great video man-this will help a lot of people who don’t know-I’ve read the comments and yes there’s people who could do better but a 2021 redeye for $80,000 is an awesome deal and it was because of your knowledge, confidence, charisma and humbleness. Some people think you just walk in cocky and threaten to leave-salesmen will laugh at that. They know someone will buy the car and sometimes people just get lucky and think they did good, like me. Back in 2009 i sucked at buying cars and i stopped to look at a new black Lincoln Navigator-the sticker was $56,000-somehow i ended up getting it for $32,000 lol, i have no idea how except they weren’t selling too many gas hog vehicles because Obama had gas prices going up and was putting the gas hog tax on vehicles just like now how Biden is trying to F-us car enthusiasts big time-him and the EPA are getting ready to go after after market mods and tuners. We are about to go thru some shit over this next year or 2. I have a question for you-Did they try and pull your credit score before letting you order when you put the $500 down? I’ve gone to 3 dealerships trying to order my Durango Hellcat and they all keep asking-it’s so stupid to pull a score 3 months before financing and get a hard pull. This has never happened to me and I’ve bought many expensive cars. It’s weird this is happening now-there’s no way I’m ruining my score for no reason when I’ll be financing and having my score pulled again in a couple months when it comes in. Just curious if they tried to pull your score?
Thanks a lot I’m just providing perspective to my purchase and glad you find it useful for others. To answer your question they did NOT run my credit, I made it known that I will bring in my own financing.. the deposit is only there to run the credit.. also my preapproval was good for 120 days.. Hope this helps!!
Exactly get the dealership do due diligence on every option you and the salesman agreement carbon copy signed off be sure you get the same representative to correspond each time during warranty agreement endorsements
They gave you more off the car because they had roughly 2400 or more in Hold back and got floor plan assistance from the Manufacture. Over all you still got A Great Deal.
Good story! You had better experience than what I had at Hendrick Dodge in Cary. They are straight crooks. Trying to sale cats and scats over invoice! And adding nitrous tire BS and a weak tint gob. I ended up ordering a car out of state. It should be here soon ordered i this past Oct.!!! Your sinamon stick hitting hard!🔥🔥🔥 keep the vids coming!
Thanks. Yeah I really don’t offer them my business.. they are sooo removed from HELPING people and ONLY chasing $$! Glad you found something that works for you
Even if you buy below MSRP the dealer made money, believe it or not a dealer can take over 20% off the MSRP and still make money Best example is the $100k trackhawks selling for $30k off MSRP. Ordered a hellcat durango MSRP 92k "dealer invoice" 84k but thats not even what they pay for the car.
@@meatball6930 lmfao I wish with 1 year only if you find one for MSRP it's a steal. But Tacoma Dodge in Washington actually got me one for MSRP! But better then the $20k markups I've seen
Good job dude, this the same way I do it when i got my gt 350s. I go tell the sales ppl listen I’m not here to waste ur time so don’t waste mine. They tried selling me some 980 hundred warranty for my seats n other for my rims n it kept adding up, at the end I told the lady which I could tell she was getting frustrated like lady remove all of that n I will take the car the ended up giving me 3k more than wat I bought my Shelby gt 350 n I drove it for 2 years and put 14k miles more on it
thanks for giving your info with no cap or BS. most people give so much misinformation (or just don't what they are talking about) in there story's and lies about there deal because they took a bad deal. The only thing i disagree about is the dealership with the credit pull. It should only be one hit on your credit to get your credit score and history and that is used to shop the banks. each bank does not do a credit request from the reporting agency's because it is provided by them by the dealer.
Straight dropping 💎’s appreciate you in the process of building/buying 23’ hellcat this was so helpful bc they ain’t budging on the markup so this will help me out in other areas of the deal thanks 🙏🏼!
Koons Dodge will do factory orders for 4% under invoice + $799 processing fee - if you aren't getting in the ballpark of 15-20% off MSRP, you're being taken to town by your dealer. Get invoice pricing on your build from Edmunds or another online site that does buildouts and gives you invoice pricing, and work your way from there. Most dealers will happily do invoice and half of their holdback (3% of MSRP basically) plus whatever rebates Dodge has at the time of delivery. Dodge also does targeted incentives for various amounts - I got my 76k 2020 Widebody Charger Hellcat for 61k (really 63k because I had to pay FL tax after I bought the car in PA - but still). Had to drive from FL to PA but saved tons of $.
@@meatball6930 That may be a bit different story - the Durango's are limited production. You should still get the Dodge incentives, but there is less room for dealers to need / want to haggle since they will probably move them at atleast sticker. Chargers/Challengers etc are different. But the principle is the same - shop around. Invoice pricing is basically .965 of whatever the sticker is - and holdback is 3% of sticker (which is what the dealer makes as "extra"). I.E. a 70k car has $2,100 in holdback and the invoice price should be around $67,500 - so a dealer should be able to live with letting the car go at 66,500 without fighting over it. But on certain models there is a lot more room to play around. Then you take off rebates etc from Dodge.
They made some money off you. Especially if you just bought it. The time for the real deals....has passed. Beginning of covid when the world was literally a ghost town for a few months was the time to buy. I got my 2020 Challenger Redeye Widebody cheap. Listed for 94k and some change. 8k Power dollars rebate. $6k plus off MSRP. I bought mine for 80k. Drove from STL to Michigan to a small Dodge dealer that had like 3 cars and 20 Trucks. They were tickled to death to get rid of it. Not their type of car in the country. Congrats on the redeye. We are family now. #thatredeyelyfe
Also you can buy these cars on line for a lot better deal than this as well..you simply have to look for dealers who believe in selling volume and have them in stock so even ordering the cars allow you the same discount you get buying one that’s in stock..also the best time to buy a car is always the last part of the yr..
Man brother I appreciate this video I’m actually looking to get one from the dealership today or tomorrow driving out to Vienna. This just made my nerves calm down and I know what to look for when I go look at the car on the lot that I saw.
I am a finance manager not for dodge, but another American brand and the truth is you may have “stole” the car because of the market value of the vehicle, but the truth is there is 15k mark up in these vehicles anyway which is the reason the depreciation of the vehicle seems so high. Why he tried to do is what we call “Jam “ you with product. He knew very well what the price that you were supposed to get, and your sales rep new he was going to jam you because he makes 10% of that money that he jammed you with. He played the show, as we always say clothes mouths don’t get fed. What you don’t ask for you won’t get the worst the customer or you could say is no. Getting a great deal is a matter of perception. If you knew they still made $9,000 in profit on that car would you still say you got a steal ? Remember dealerships are like casinos, the house always wins.
I never said dodge didn’t make any money on the deal. I simply controlled my out the door price from start to finish. I own a business and I understand the markups and percentages inflation.
So what they try to do with the incentives is that yeah you’ll have 6000$ off they will try and sneak some bs like paint protection or the car alarm, they’ll sell you warranties on top without your knowledge . Good summary of what happened. None of what they say is on the car except for whatever is on the window sticker actually on the car. When you reach the finance office they’ll will try to slide warranties and gap without your knowledge so review everything and in fine print it will say (none of these options are needed to buy the car) they’ll say hey you need to buy gap insurance from us in order for us to finance your car with the bank also bs.
I feel like gap is a good thing, especially if you don’t put any money down, because you are upside down the minute you drive it off the lot,and God forbid you total it leaving the dealership.
Salesmen don’t make bad deals, people accept offers they know they can’t afford out of desperation to get the car they want. A smart consumer doesn’t ruin their finances for any vehicle.
@@RedeyeRod As a former Salesperson for dodge and a hellcat wide body owner I’ll say you did a great job on the video, I respect your style. We are designed to be as vague as possible to make money unfortunately, but you did some homework! Hope you love the car they are really fun.
Thats about right. I got the same sinammon stick charger redeye...except, I got mine with sunroof, Navi, Alpine audio, 20x11 Brass monkey wheels with upgraded rubber AND color matched brake calipers for 100K, taxes, fee gas guzzler tax included, in Cali, which is a very sought after vehicle out here, allowing dealers to add a 25K mark up. No mark up paid here.
You got my subscribe brother! God bless you. I’ve been getting played for a while now at dealerships. They been putting me in cars I don’t even want. They talk so fast and it throws me off. Mannn I wish I had seen this video before I got my 21 charger 392 widebody! Ordered it about the same time you ordered yours and didn’t get it until Jan 31. Out the door it was about $77k even though the build sheet has it at 62k. They got me! Great info though bro I’ll definitely keep it in mind for the next time
This was a great video, I recently bought my first challenger, a used RT, and I had to stick to my guns with the exact price and interest rate I knew I could get. Their initial "offer " before even running my credit was insane, and prb 10k more than it shoulda been.
The guys at the dealership where I ordered my hellcat are already trying to play one on me, I ordered one a couple months back and now that’s it’s in the process of being delivered here I asked about what rebates they have this month and his response was “these type of cars don’t come with rebates” I still haven’t officially purchased or signed paper work for the car yet but Dodge did make me put a 5k down payment for me to order due to shortages of chips
@@Incrediblewash they offered a 2k rebate financing through Chrysler capital I got the car already I love it but on the other hand I went to the store the other day & someone who had to be jealous threw a rock or some object at it and dented & chipped the paint, I didn’t notice it till about 3 days afterwards. I’m pretty bummed out about it I’m hoping my insurance can get it fixed ASAP
Very informative, good points and tips! Wish I took the patience like you did when I was looking at a new car back in September when I got my 2020 Charger R/T in HellRaisin. Thanks for the video man, I hit that sub button also. Keep up the great content.
If you’re financially correct go for it but being 18 is not smart because if you don’t have a co signer they going to get the most out of you because they know you really want a scat I’d say be smart and get something cheaper and wait until credit and income is better to go get it comfortably
You cant get a good deal when you order hellcats. Thats a specialty vehicle that the dealership and even banks understand that are rarer and worth more. At my dealership my collegue made 40k in profit ordering a TRX. Msrp is 80 grand and out the door it came to 120k. They can markup the price and hide it legally by just saying since its a rare vehicle we cant sell it for msrp. BUT it doesnt matter what the dealership made. As long as your happy with your car and payment its not a bad deal.
I know it's my fault I should've checked the paperwork immediately. We had agreed on 10,400 on a late model Toyota Corolla. Looking back at the paperwork Months later I noticed they charged 10,600. To add insult to injury The service manager Russ lied And said he knocked off an extra hundred dollars that would've made the car purchase 10,300, in Lou of giving me a free oil change. I know it's not a lot of money, but I recommend you check your paperwork. Especially because they use touchscreens. And put everything on a flash drive, hoping you won't catch it later. The car itself is cool it's just The shady tactics I can do without. If they're doing this to me for A couple hundred they're doing this to you for 1000's. I can almost guarantee it.

And u won't get that lifetime warranty

There's no such thing as negotiating if you have bad credit. I think alot of people need to know that. If your getting financed, you best believe you better come with good credit.
SO TRUE
This is false, ALWAYS negotiate the total price of the car no matter what ya score is. Your score is irrelevant when negotiating the price of a vehicle. You may be correct when it comes to the APR but definitely not the total cost.
@@__tymir1788
This is not false.
Dealerships definitely do not make their money on new car sales, their money is made in the add ons, extended warranties and financing.
Ready to put 5k down on a Hellcat but I have to come up on my maturity level 😂
honestly bro I would at least put 20% down which is around 15,000 or 20,000 depends on the model. Because if you only put 5k down that monthly payment is going to bite you in the ass. the more you put down the less monthly payment

I just want to let you know that this was a very well informed video for people that never bought cars before. However, you still didn't beat the dealership. It just so happened that you are better informed than the average person to save money. As a former car salesman the goal is to milk all the money they can out of you basically the dumb customer!

Great advice! Salesmen try to get over all the time. It's 10x worse if you're a female. So I'm firm, stand my ground, and let them know that I'm willing to walk away. Confidence is the key!!! They switch up real quick when you know your $hit. 😆
That is soo true and they can tell right away who they can and cannot force into bad deals

Shady shady business.. glad you didn’t get caught in the mix of that
That's how the finance department makes his cut.

Illinois is the state 🤣
Great video man-this will help a lot of people who don’t know-I’ve read the comments and yes there’s people who could do better but a 2021 redeye for $80,000 is an awesome deal and it was because of your knowledge, confidence, charisma and humbleness.
Hope this helps!!

thanks for giving your info with no cap or BS. most people give so much misinformation (or just don't what they are talking about) in there story's and lies about there deal because they took a bad deal. The only thing i disagree about is the dealership with the credit pull. It should only be one hit on your credit to get your credit score and history and that is used to shop the banks. each bank does not do a credit request from the reporting agency's because it is provided by them by the dealer.

Sounds like you’re woke and on point
How do i do this bro? I’m trying to order a Durango Hellcat right now?

You are correct it’s really a corrupt situation and poor judgment on those guys.. I’m super glad your aware
I feel like gap is a good thing, especially if you don’t put any money down, because you are upside down the minute you drive it off the lot,and God forbid you total it leaving the dealership.

He said "I'm Suspect" ...lol Good info!
