My 1st wife was my age. 2nd wife was 12 years younger. 3rd wife was 5 years older. Much respect for 1st and 3rd wife. Dad hated 1st wife. Mom hated last wife.

I think she's talking to those who are interested, besides your point is invalid, maturity does not equate age but you free to think what you've been told.
His family members are going to give you hell
Family members give hell to people they want to control. And it pains them when they can't control you. My husband's family didn't give me hell because he didn't allow it. His parents and siblings actually love me a lot. He had and still has my back. Some people are easily influenced by their families, like they don't know what's best for them. My hubby isn't one of those men. Besides, why are family members hell bent on making the wife's life miserable? Are you not sensing a need for control there? Nobody is solely doing the other a favor marrying them. Both party love each other and want to be together, that's why they marry. Why family members are so invested in giving anyone hell just baffles me. The point is, it's not up to them who decides to marry who.
