What is defined as offensive by the woke is purely subjective and arbitrary. Sometimes the word "offensive" is a label used to determine who should be attacked. If you look at a lot of people’s “culturally appropriate” redesigns (especially on Tik Tok), you’ll notice that most of these redesigns are MORE orientalist and insulting to culture than the original design. It’s almost as if an abundance of melanin doesn’t equal good representation. Who would’ve thought.
Yes, they're too focused on the skin that they're so offended by it, and forgetting the other important stuff like diversity of culture. But no, the amount of melanin in one's skin is much more important because they FEEL included, as if that solves anything at all. This is what happens when one does not go outside and touch grass and talk to people face-to-face.
One would think that the launch of a completely new region would get the whales fired up. But miHoYo got themselves in a really bad spot due to Neuvilette's dominance overshadowing everything Hydro-related. They tried to nerf him, but had to run it back when people were understandably furious about it, and they nerfed Mualani in beta because she was apparently outperforming him, making her a significant level of powercreep that would do more harm than good. As such, while being a popular character in her own right, there's very little demand in the Hydro DPS market, even though she's still very powerful. Just as you mentioned, people are holding out for the Pyro Archon (likely to be released near the end of the year, or early next year) and then some. As for the boycott, it was comprised of failures who are so dependant on Genshin giving their lives meaning that in their minds, "negligence" equals "boycott". And a bunch of loudmouths who don't play the game at all, thus not making a difference at all. Yes, including those dumbass VA's who are apparently now getting replaced one by one. I would've preferred miHoYo to ditch english VA's entirely, like Snowbreak did, but I understand that such a bold move would likely lose them a good amount of players who don't like languages they don't understand.
There was a popularity poll a while back on Natlan character designs, and Mualani was close to the bottom in CN (Iansan was the only one lower as I recall) so if she isn't a meta/powercreep pick, her sales were looking pretty bad from the outset. Pyro Archon was on top just based on design, so assuming she continues the trend of strong/meta archon units, her banner is definitely going to be the big one.

The reason Snowbreak's EN dub is dead is because of whatever agencies/va's they contacted that fucked them over, not because they didn't want it themselves.

If skin color was the problem, then I don’t think they even played the game. Some NPC are dark skinned, some important story NPC are also dark skinned, and Iansan (which is probably gonna be a playable character) is also dark skinned.
I played this game for the 4 years without putting any money into it, and I didn't know I was boycotting it.... in the end the only thing that was achieved on a large scale was the firing of voice actors..... you know what? I think the fact that the "Chinese National Firewall" and the blocking of networks like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, doesn't sound so bad anymore that freedom of speech is limited when people do this with that freedom.... I never thought I would support that, but here we are.
@Fr00stee A new voice actor in Honkai Star Rail is added to the list for retweeting a blackwashing "art fix" of the new Female Chinese character she voices....Anairis Quiñones was accused of racism by the Chinese players since Feixiao strongly represents Chinese culture....the girl deleted her twitter and instagram accounts, and if you look at the English youtube HSR account the videos of this new character are not in English by default, but Japanese....so imagine
@Fr00stee You right....but not yet, but as you said before, if there were problems in zzz for the same situation, there will be problems here (HSR) too.

They talk about racism still all they care about is skin color. Genshin represents many cultures, maybe not 100% accurately. I bet they didn't watch the Natlan live symphony because there were people of color, real people.
I remember how when I talked about it in a server completely unrelated to genshin, I was called so many names because I argued that the boycott was ridiculous and the reasons for it were dubious at best. (People are never happy no matter your decision anyway). Taking inspiration doesn't mean having to copy paste real world logic into a game world, you have to consider the country were all this is coming from and so on. I "understand" the idea behind the boycott, I "get" that you can be annoyed that the country that is supposed to represent you isn't 100% identical. But it was done in such a social warrior kind of way that it was just cringe and sad, especially considering how the VAs reacted to that. Want a fun fact? We all know that Fontaine is basically heavily inspired by France and lo and behold I'm french! (Yeah keep your "eww" comments for you, I've seen them =p). Did we start boycotting mihoyo and being uber aggressive? Nope, we didn't care one bit (and Fontaine was in part France but very stereotypical) and we even got one of the best archon story AND meme of the game overall (Thank you Neuvillette). People need to learn to part reality and fiction but they don't know how to do that.
I wonder why a CHINESE game company that uses Cell-Shaded art style has mainly white looking characters… (This is sarcasm for people who couldn’t tell)
I suppose they like their ladies pale-skinned for the most part. I know this is a thing at least in South Korea anyway. They're not big on ethnic diversity over there.
But honestly, if you put Ganyu or any other light skinned character next to the Natlan characters, those labelled "tanned" actually look darker in comparison. Sure, it's not "black" but it IS something different. And we have a VARIETY in "tanned" skin colours. At least as far as I have seen. And as an artist I have to openly say, anime skin colour is ALWAYS lighter than actual skin colour. Even more yellow than normal 😂
I hope you realize that most Chinese people have VERY light skin. Or do you somehow think that Chinese are dark-skinned...? Have you ever seen a Chinese person in your entire life?

@@OleksandrSlepnov Woke refers to hostile activism in various forms of media where the main agenda is attacking or removing anything deemed offensive.
What is defined as offensive by the woke is purely subjective and arbitrary. Sometimes the word "offensive" is a label used to determine who should be attacked.
Often, what is deemed offensive is the expression of feminine and masculine beauty.
Or in this case, a purely misguided attempt to represent themselves as protectors of a culture.

I'm actually a new Genshin player. And I decided to play it after the boycott. Being boycotted nowadays is now a badge of honor.
see how people failed to boycott Genshin TWICE?! Very CUTESY Very MINDFUL Very DEMURE.
@@MauveButterflyunrelated but iirc, top 3 in CN was Mavuika, Citlali, Il Capitano? Even more reason for him to be playable lol. W for the man who stole all the melanin from Natlan.
Was agreeing with you untill the brain dead remove EN voice acting entirely part. Amoeba take. @@KazeMemaryu "I would've preferred miHoYo to ditch english VA's entirely, like Snowbreak did". Oh no, you got me.
Why would you prefer a dub you don't listen to removed anyway?
Snowbreak removed EN because they were on the verge of bankruptcy. But when they recovered, they made an attempt to return it. The reason Snowbreak's EN dub is dead is because of whatever agencies/va's they contacted that fucked them over, not because they didn't want it themselves.

they say Boycott the game and yet they still play it? what a joke -_-
The voice actor getting fired is one of the best parts of this boycott
I played this game for the 4 years without putting any money into it, and I didn't know I was boycotting it.... in the end the only thing that was achieved on a large scale was the firing of voice actors..... you know what? I think the fact that the "Chinese National Firewall" and the blocking of networks like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, doesn't sound so bad anymore that freedom of speech is limited when people do this with that freedom.... I never thought I would support that, but here we are.
no voice actor got "fired" other than the moze VA and maybe one in zzz idk
@Fr00stee A new voice actor in Honkai Star Rail is added to the list for retweeting a blackwashing "art fix" of the new Female Chinese character she voices....Anairis Quiñones was accused of racism by the Chinese players since Feixiao strongly represents Chinese culture....the girl deleted her twitter and instagram accounts, and if you look at the English youtube HSR account the videos of this new character are not in English by default, but Japanese....so imagine

They talk about racism still all they care about is skin color. Genshin represents many cultures, maybe not 100% accurately. I bet they didn't watch the Natlan live symphony because there were people of color, real people.
I’m just glad that the next region is going to be Russian-styled so Twitter racists won’t get boycott hungry next year
I remember how when I talked about it in a server completely unrelated to genshin, I was called so many names because I argued that the boycott was ridiculous and the reasons for it were dubious at best.
Which is sad that these boycotters are stuck in their own delusions and their own world to be able to realize all of these 😔

You should see how racist they are in South Korea compared to the us. Ethnic diversity isn’t a big thing in most places outside of here
