@jakechilds When creating the "Illuminati EP," I drew on my lifelong pursuit of self awareness and understanding of the world. From a young age, l've been guided by a spiritual curiosity, always seeking to grasp the deeper aspects of our existence. The title "Illuminati EP" represents the enlightenment that comes with realizing that true change originates from within. Each track on the EP reflects this transformative journey. "Greedy Eyes" represents a mindset consumed by materialism and insatiable desire. It captures the essence of a worldview fixated on external gains, often at the expense of inner fulfillment. Through its beats and rhythms, l wanted to convey the entrapment and constant yearning this mindset creates. "Coup d'Etat" signifies a revolutionary shift in perspective. It is a call to overthrow the limiting beliefs and materialistic mindset symbolized by "Greedy Eyes." This track is about reclaiming one's mental sovereignty and adopting new, empowering ways of thinking. The music mirrors this transition with dynamic and assertive rhythms, aiming to inspire a transformative impact on the listener's psyche. In essence, the "Illuminati EP" is a sonic journey of self-illumination, encouraging listeners to recognize their innate power to initiate change and embrace a more enlightened state of being. Bon Johnson completely transformed the way I look at house music. His release on Innuendo Records was a turning point for me, diving into the synthy, funky sounds I loved and constantly made. I owe him a lot for inspiring me. I heard his music one day and knew I had to work with him somehow. I always manifest things quickly, and before I knew it, we were talking and bouncing ideas off each other. He helped me overcome my insecurity about incorporating more synthy elements into my music. With deep roots in industrial music, I tended to create darker sounds. Johnson showed me that these sounds could be made funkier and less dark while still retaining a dark tint. Thank you for asking these questions; they bring back a lot of good memories! His release, "Slumber Party Massacre" on Innuendo Records, featured a remix by Joey Youngman, who later became Wolfgang Gartner. This was way before electro was a huge thing-right before it even. Perhaps Johnson even inspired Wolfgang! That dude was definitely onto something future-focused.
