As a swede I'm extremely impressed by Latvia. Sure we had three times as many shots on goal but if the interference had been called who knows how it would have gone?
I mean, Sweden was clearly the better team by miles, and it was the Latvian goalie who stood on his head, but that’s brutal to lose a one goal game after that first goal. Accidental or not, that gets called interference 9/10 times. It’s the same a trip, just because you didn’t mean to trip someone doesn’t negate the penalty. Horrible missed call.

Latvia really took a step this year. I don't think they are quite there yet, not when they get less than 1/2 the shots of their opponent, but you can see they have the drive - they believed they could do it. They are no longer an easy win, and this Canadian is not looking forward to future meetings.
I feel like in the playoffs nowdays we are THE top team you prefer to face. We live on our name. The three crowns brings respect, but on the ice we are a nervous and sluggish team when the pressure is on. Something the fins, czechs, americans and canadians doesn't show. They keep playing like any other game... But our tiktok generation don't handle pressure well that literally any team in A & B division would be a fair matchup in a playoff setting. We educate and train our youth well... But dealing with pressure we are behind. Because we say "Hockey is fun" while the rest has a different mentality to why they play like they take it seriously unlike us playing like there is a participation trophy. Keep growing Latvia, you've proven you have what it takes to beat a goliath team, twice almost. Just need to improve consistency. Your goalie was solid. Only allowing 3 out of 50+ shots against a top nation is quite the statement.
Latvia has no reason to be down about this game, they've busted their butts and their goalie to do things that have never happened on the junior hockey stage. Welcome back next year. It can and will only get better from here

Ten shots or more were close calls... in the post, on the line etc. It could as easily have been 5-0 using that logic if you alter small things, which in turn would have altered other things. It was more or less play against one goal. Latvia worked hard, but its a big difference between those two teams.

How is even possible to miss that? The official was looking right at it so the first Swedish goal should not have counted and that player should have been ejected. That could have dramatically changed this game if the official simply bothered to do their job. Latvia got screwed on that one.

Sweden has more skill in its team for sure, but not being able to capitalize enough on 50 shots, and allowing 2 goals on 15 shots is not what I would call a great performance. They will need to get better facing tougher opponent. I wish then luck in semis!

Now, have a look again at the 4th goal and you will see that the refs didn't do their job properly once more, the coach had to ask for a replay... Statistics shows a lot, yet there can be many other factors influencing the game. No doubt Sweden has a lot of talent, but you shouldn't be favouring any team as a referee, otherwise it seems a bit corrupt...

The more i watch the interference the more it looks like an intentional hit, he even follows though with his shoulder and arm. And even if it wasnt intentional, it is a clear as day that it should be called. Disgusting.

Great to see Latvia. No interference on the firat goal though. The Latvian player changed direction at the last moment and the Swede couldn't get out of the collision. If anything it's the other way around but nothing is the correct call.

@@JK-gw1yf Are you talking to me. I am swedish and I have seen all these swedish junior teams shoke all through the years. Just 2 golds and so many finals. And yeah I noticed all those shots by players who just can't score - they all to burdened by the weight of the moment, as usual.
